  • Half measures

Seven of us assembled for this evening’s Punisher. Twenty-five yard mosey off of the parking lot and into the grass (mostly) for COP with 25 x SSHs, 15 x IWs, 15 x DQs, 15 x Russian Soldiers, 12 x Suzanne Somers (each side), 25 x Hello Dollys, and Arm Circles – 30 Small (forward and reverse) then 15 Large (forward and reverse).

Move to the edge of the school and line up for 11s. Run the length of the school wall, drop for 10 Wide Grip Merkins and hop up for 1 Squat. Return to the start for 9 and 2. Continue until 1 and 10 completed.

Begin team Bearimeter. Three begin to Bear Crawl to the east and around the school. Four run forty paces and return. Switch roles. Continue switch until we reach the bus loop. Begin Lindsays with 30 Reverse Crunches and 10 Captain Morgans (single count Squats with one leg on the curb). Continue, adjusting count by 5 reps, until 10 and 30 completed.

Resume alternating Bear Crawl in the direction of the playground. Stroll-mosey the final 20 yards. Begin Super 21 alternating Carolina Dry Docks and single count Boxing Cockroaches. Start with 1 rep of each. Complete 2 reps of each. Add another rep of each per round, aiming for 21 reps of each. Break after 10 reps of each for 10 Jerkins under the swings. Break again after 15 reps and 18 reps. Halt after 18 reps given limited remaining time and mosey back around the school. Bearimeter and Super 21 unfinished!

A minute of stretching in front of the school before returning to the parking lot for COT. YHC took us out.

Nice work guys. Great turnout. Have a good week.

  • No I didn’t forget my cloths

Rounders, Corned Beef and Trout ventured out on the 4 mile chicken biscuit loop over in Rutland. Mudface and No Idea did their thang around the school…

Met back up at the school…numbers, no announcements, prayer….out…

  • The Day Our Clothes Are Supposed to Stay Clean

8 SOJers and Annie welcomed YHC and Sally for a run on the trails.

With the Q sheet open last night, and Gumbo’s solo run last week, YHC thought Sally might be the only company this morning. A strong showing by the PAX was a welcome surprise. Tclaps for Marmaduke, Honeymoon, and Annie who also posted to OTB yesterday.

We ran down toward the river and took some loops on the trails. Rosie was a capable tour guide. The entire PAX was in sight throughout most of the run thanks to headlamps and no leaves on the trees.

Nancy Lopez took a spill on a tree root, and his comment inspired the BB title. YHC hopes he is okay.

Check out http://forethecause.org and mark your calendars for May 15th. See Nancy Lopez and Wilson for more details.

  • Sandersing

Six tenacious thrill-seekers erratically parked at Hoedown this morning for a late sign-up edition of a Splinter Q. After describing how much sleep YHC lost over the past few days thinking about this Q, off we went for something similar to what is transcribed below.

Quick double loop counter clockwise around the drop off loop in honor of Upchuck ?. Diversion after turn 3 of lap 2 up the stairway and to the center of the sea of black.

    COP
    – 10x Donald Quixotes
    – 1x Burpee
    – 15x HIGH Knees
    – 2x Burpee (accurately predicted by Hitchhiker)
    – 15x Arm Circles each direction
    – 3x Burpee
    – 20x American Hammers
    – 4x Burpee
    – 15x Imperial Walkers
    – 5x Burpee
    – 15x Mountain Climbers
    – 6x Burpee
    – 10x Lunges
    – 7x Burpee
    – 15x Hillbillies
    – 8x Burpee
    – 20x LBCs
    – 9x Burpee
    – 10x Kimchi Twists
    – 10x Burpee

Very short mosey to the very short basketball hoop (appropriately sized for some PAX members) and wait for Upchuck to demonstrate his inner Spud Webb. Small 4 corners bounded by two basketball goals. 10x merkins, 20x squats, 30x WWIIs, 40x Flutter Kicks (2 count). Alternate bear crawling and lunging between stations.

Slightly longer mosey to the southeast corner of the black sea for a full sized 4 corners. Increase count by 5 for previous exercises. Skip jump between stations with arm waving OYO.

Anticipating complaints due to the lack of moseying, YHC led the PAX for a brief mosey down Lindsay. Partner up for catch me if you can. After some discussion around the intended outcome of Bernie Sanders, and Handshake catching his breath, partner 1 starts “Sandersing” up the hill while partner 2 completes 3 burpees then runs forward to tag partner. Continue up the hill.

Mosey back down the hill with great fanfare.

Same partners, suicides up Lindsay with lit lamp posts on the right acting as the lines. Partner 1 runs legs 1 & 3 and partner 2 runs legs 2 & 4. Idle partner squats and jumps repeatedly.

Needing to run back up the hill, YHC beckoned alternate “Sandersing” and forward run with the lamp posts acting as the transition point. Convene at the top before scurrying back to the parking lot for 2 minutes or mary which included reverse crunches and LBCs.

Numbers and Salutations before ample prayer requests with YHC taking us out.

    Great fun today fellas.

  • Oyster Parked in the Weirdo Spot

Seven brothers met to start the day off right. A meeting of the minds ensued.

    COP: Imperial Walkers (do as I say, not as I do) x 10. Russian Solders (again, do as I say, not as I do) x 10. WWIIs x 10. LBCs x 10. Rosalitas x 10. Scissor Kicks x 10. Hello Dollies x 10. Flutter Kicks x 10.

MENSA: Partner up at the top of the Hill of Ill Repute. Partner one runs to the bottom and back. Partner two Lunges. Round 2 = Bear Crawl. Round 3 = Polar Bears. Repeat to the bottom.

INSANITY: Repeat MENSA back up HIR.

LOW TIDE: Mosey over to the tennis court for Crab Walk Elevens. Singles line to singles line. Exercises are Merkins and Box Cutters. After hitting the 5/6 interchange, replace Crab Walk with Lunges.

BILLIE JEAN KINGS: Triple Check. Partner one runs line tracers out and back. Partner two = Squats. Partner 3 = LBCs.

    BTTF: Zippy announcements

NMS: Keep our brother Sippy Cup in your thoughts and prayers. He suffered a significant bike crash (was not hit by a car), but, I understand, will be fine. I don’t have details beyond that.

There’s a guy who is always at FHP around 05:15 on Mondays. He parks next to the Stone House for about 15 minutes, then leaves. No idea why. Today, that person joined us. Apparently … it’s Oyster.

We preach daily about living our lives to the fullest. Now go do it.

  • Coming in Hot for a Cold Morning!

5:58 Was upon us and Honeymoon came in to the lot smoking the tires to get there before 6! The PAX was more concerned about Annie the dog puking in his backseat rather than Honeymoon being on time. Either way, 6am hit and off went runners and walkers.

Recall, Honeymoon, Marmaduke got 6 miles and Gumbo craved more pavement and headed back out to get more miles….total, TBD….

Wilson, Ailse 5, and Exit row got a 4 miles Brisk walk in to round out the PAX!

    Strong work Gents!

  • French Models

Legend has it that 8 topless studs moseyed from ET’s to DogPile then again in reverse, roughly 4 miles and some change. Twas a tit bit nipply. Or maybe the true story is that one unnamed PAX recently ogled a topless French model while lounging on a Bahamian beach with reckless disregard for subtlety and now has a new favorite Insta follow. Rumor has it a return trip has already been booked.

  • 2 Years of Vinny: Blame Hardywood

30 Suck Embracers posted to embrace the suck. Here’s how:

Mosey down to Food Truck Circle for COP: Lots of Arm Circles in honor of Flash Dance – who named me Vinny. Boat Holds in honor of our brother Swirly who is in South Carolina cheering on his daughter in a college softball contest. Go get ’em Reagan! Scorpion Kicks – Honeydo wasn’t with us today. He loves them. TYA wasn’t with us today. He hates them.

Bermuda Triangle: At the bottom instructions were given. Two exercises (but 4 or 5, if you’re Wilson). PAX Bear Crawl and/or Crab Walk as the main exercises. If a PAX member switches from one to the other, he must do 10 WWIIs. If a PAX member wants to take 5 lunges, then he must do 50 SSHs. Commence up the hill on the left – across the top road – back down the backside to the starting point.

Touch a Tree: Grab a coupon. Rounds of 8/6/4. Runner carries coupon to all trees. Round of 8 = Curls. Round of 6 = Bench Press. Round of 4 = hold the coupon above your head.

Jenny on the Blocks: Partners perform 10 Boo Ya Merkins on the coupons. x 3 rounds.

    Wilson’s Boxing Cockroaches: 20 per round x 3 rounds.

Pearl Jam: Mosey to the amphitheater. No Ticket Master fees. Alternating exercises on each step. 5 Incline Merkins. 5 Dips. All the way out.

4MOM: Flutter Kicks / Hello Dollies / Rosalitas

    BTTF: Burpees x 2

Announcements: There are lots. Poker tonight with Orange Crush. Doozy has a great cause helping an elderly member of his church move. Our brother Wild Thing lost his wife recently and there is a memorial service today. There are PreBlasts for all.

Appropriately Dressed Moleskin: “Bone Thugs, give me a 20 count.” “Twenty … ummm …. ummmm….” “Hey Bone Thugs, give us a twenty count in the voice of Bull Winkle.” “Twenty, nineteen, eighteen, etc.”

Thanks also to EF Hutton for brining his best Macho Man Randy Savage slowly morphs into Hulk Hogan impersonation.

Shout out to my man Recall – you’ve been crushing it. Can’t wait to see you crush BRR. Shout out to Exit Row – early front runner for comeback of the year award. Don’t anyone try and beat him. One heart attack is all that’s allowed. Shout out to the infusion of new guys who are out here putting in work. Keep it up!

Now then, two years ago I met some a%$hole named Patton Gleason. He tricked me into coming to a Dogpile Q’d by Slurpee (where ya been Slurpee?). I hated it, but was instantly hooked. It was exactly what I needed in my life. It’s been an awesome two years. Tons of great memories. Tons of brothers I never knew I had. From my first ever Q to BRR last fall, I’ve loved every minute of time spent with this brotherhood. For those of you who are just joining us, trust me, make it a priority. The payoff is incredible. You will not regret one moment in the gloom. You’ll be better for it, and better because of it.

It’s been a real honor to be a part of F3RVA for the past two years, and I look forward to riding with y’all until our move this summer. But don’t think for one minute that means y’all are getting rid of me. I’ll be back. It all starts with Gumbo and I defending our championship at the 2nd Annual, First Inaugural F3RVA Retreat on Saturday, October 3rd.

    See y’all Monday at Batteau.

  • Wanna Fight, or Do You Want a Beatdown?

Those were the options given to YHC by Mudface and Rounders. YHC opted for beatdown, and accepted the guest Q.

The THANG: Mosey to the playground for COP: SSH, Helicopters, IWs, DQs, Carolina Dry Docks, Freddie Mercuries, Scorpion Kicks IC.

Mosey to the short track for some Jack Webbs: x Merkins and 4x Overhead Air Presses for x = 1,2,3,…,10. After x=3, 6, and 10, run a lap.

More Jack Webbs: x WWIIs and 4x Reverse Crunches. After x=3 and x=9, Lunge through a turn. After x=6 and x=10, Bear Crawl the straightaway.

Mosey to the other side of the playground for 4-man Partner Jerkins. Sets of 6, 8, and 10. After the each of the first two sets, Crawl Bear up the grassy knoll, 10 Donkey Kicks and jog back.

Mosey to the parking lot for COT.

Announcements: Prayers for Wild Thing and family. See the preblast for funeral arrangements for his M.

NMS: It was YHC’s first visit to the new Creek location. YHC parked so that the bus loop and entrance were visible, while Mudface and Rounders pulled into the rear entrance. At 5:29:30, as YHC was preparing for a solo beatdown, they approached and offered the BB title.

Mudface, a true Davillian, was thrown off by the large numbers involved with Jack Webbs, but kept pace with the PAX. Rounders remarked about all the different positions required by exercises: on the knees for Overhead Air Presses, on the back for Reverse Crunches, bending over for Bear Crawl, topped off with Partner Jerkins. Corned Beef was celebrated by the F3 PAX in his hometown of Roanoke for being named after a well-loved restaurant there. He returned with many ideas for a parking deck beatdown. PAX should consider themselves lucky that no AOs are near parking decks, at least for now.

  • A little windy McGee?

4 early risers, 2 Regulars, and 4 overachievers posted this morning for a 70’s and sunny run.

    The Thang

Take Grove to Malvern to Laburnam – go 22:30 and return.

    Mad Dog took us out

    Moleskin

With no sign of Lockjaw before 0530, YHC made the call for the directions and time, Hardywood made the executive decision that he needed to run by his office for a security check; 3 others followed. They all posted about 6.5 miles.

Healing prayers for Sippy and Swiper (in unrelated incidents)

    Bleeder out
