  • Billy Madison back to school

A Tobit Q at NoToll certainly means a lot of running. Exactly what YHC thought when I got word yesterday that Tobit was feeling a little under the weather and wanted to make sure he was full speed for his first BRR. Dr. Tryhard has been searching the Exicon recently for some fun new things so why can’t I. Quickly found the Billy Madison and back to school we went.

A little indecision on the part of the Q veering toward the normal parking lot circle but changing course to the field for COP. It was a little dark back there but the LIFOs found us eventually. COP with DQ, Helicopters, SSH, IW, Arm Circles and LBC.

Mosey to the corner of the field for Billy Madison. Start with 12 squats, run a lap. Next 12 squats, 12 merkins, run a lap. Next 12 squats, 12 merkins, 12 plank jacks, run a lap. There’s a pattern here if you haven’t caught on. Every other lap was an indigenous people run versus OYO to keep Fresh Price closer to the group. Additional exercises were Mountain Climbers, Monkey Humpers, Werkins, Alternating Shoulder Taps, SSH, Flutter Kicks. Only got through 9th grade today, fitting since my 2.1 is starting his freshman year.

After the last lap, pick up the 6 and mosey back to finish out with some Mary. 1-leg APDs, Dollies and Freddie Mercuries.

Welcome to NoToll Handy Manny. He was EHed for the convergence yesterday and made it back for day 2 quickly. Hope to see you back again soon. Welcome back to OC, good to see you back in the gloom. Hope the 2.0s all have a great first day of school.

  • Pre Evac Run

2 runners arrived at The Village at Brunswick Forest for a little pre-evacuation run.

YHC got the word last night that the coastal beaches Brunswick County North Carolina (where YHC is on vaca at the moment), have to be evacuated starting at noon today. YHC wanted to make sure he got at least one post at the Leland AO’s of F3 Cape Fear

YHC arrived at 5:27 to a empty, worried he would be running parking lot repeats. Luckily Lasorda showed up shortly after

We put in a little overtime and got in just under 6 miles Good to meet Lasorda and learn more about the Leland and how that area is growing in the F3 community.

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Back to school crawl bear

6 PAX gathered at Heartbreak Ridge to kick off the 2019-20 school year. It went like this:

Mosey around the parking lot to the field house for warmup of 20x SSH, 10x Helicopter (yes, singular), 5x super slow Don Quixote, 15x Cherry Pickers, 15x LBC and 10x Merkins.

Back up to the parking lot and around the perimeter, stopping at each of the 18 painted arrows for an alternating 5x Lt. Dan, 5x MHs, 5x star jumps at each arrow. Plank for the six. Mental note that Google imagery inaccurately depicts 12 arrows…

Down to the Jerkin Gym and partner up for three rounds of 10x jerkins and 20x PLTs. Plank for the six. Run one lap on the track with a Bernie corner. Gather at the field house for Wall of Fire: hold the people’s chair lineup while each PAX member alternates down the line for 10x donkey kicks, 10x merkins, 10x LBCs and 7x burpees.

YHC has somehow lost the weinky. Honeydo or Handshake suggested a GP classic: crawl bear over-under on the railings by the field house. Improvised for a quick 2x session, Al Gore for the six. Mosey to the hill by the parking lot. Classic Dora 100x Merkins, 200x LBC, 300x squats. Timer runs up the hill + 5x coupon curls for the girls at the top. GP audible at ~200 squats to bear crawl up the hill and head back to the flag.

Numberama, namerama, no announcements and YHC took us out. Super quick wrap up to get everyone home for the excitement. Summer fun, check. Start of school, check. Crawl bear, check. Great way to start another school year.

    NMS:

First and foremost Id like to thank Honeymoon, Gumbo and Wilson for leading the 3 groups today. You gentlemen are the standard for F3 and your leadership today was awesome! Also hats off the all the FNGs who posted, YHC hopes to see you soon and just like some any of us have, you all become addicted to this brotherhood we have. Also want to give a shout out to the 2.0s that made it out today, you all crushed it! Lastly Strong work by all to take time out of their holiday weekend to get this morning started off right. Its an amazing sight to see this family come together from all over RVA to better ourselves mentally and physically.

I hope you all enjoy your family time today before the summer comes to a close. I pray that each and everyone of your 2.0s have a safe and wonderful school year!

It was an honor to spend the morning with you all! Go out and be that beacon of light for someone who may need it this week!

  • New Market Takeover

Eight strong humans and one canine posted on a Sunday morning for a jaunt on the trails. We took the north bank past the entrance to the T. Pottersfield and onto the pipe (poop) loop. We then made our way back to the parking lot via the northbank. Saab took to the streets and made his way back on the trails. Flipper posted early and got in 10 miles.

Great to have the newmarket crew out there today. A couple folks punching the ticket for the end of the summer tour. Congrats guys. Flipper got YHC in trouble this morning, and I didn’t even cross paths with him. I was talking to Ollie and saw flips car with the license plate HNVRQT. I said the plate outloud (Hanover cuties) to Ollie and the four women (yes they were cuties) stopped talking and leered at me. The plate does not really mean hanover cuties, it was meant to read Hollands never quit. Sally went postal on Recall. Apparently Sally didn’t like the stance that Recall was in and got a bit aggressive.

The field was moist and freshly cut, so the PAX was covered in shavings and sweat.  It was a glorious start to the Labor Day weekend.

See everyone at Timberwolf on Monday morning at 7 am for the convergence.

God is good all of the time!

  • There’s always that one guy, but today there may have been two……………………….

Twenty two men and one young lady showed up on a dark cool morning for what?? The annual Stage Workout!

    Here’s how it went down.

    COP: NOPE NOT AT ALL!

Everyone gathered on stage, got paired up in threes and were assigned a station curls, tricep press, squat, WWI & run around theater. The people on stage did the called out burpee until song was over. Stations rotated, three off stage when runners came back from lap (went back to stage). Burpees included – One leg, feet in twice, Jumpling split leg, lunge, knees to elbow, high knee, deep squat (Helix style), superman (these really sucked), jogging (20 seconds in between burpee) and regular burpee. When the hour was up put the blocks neatly on the left lower side of stage for future use (note to any future Q’s). Thanks to Gomer Pile for keeping us in line and ensuring the blocks were neatly stacked.

    Moleskin:

YHC doen’t Q veryoften anymore, but I ablsoutely LOVE this workout (even with the added running). We did learn a few things. Greenbow might hate running as much as YHC and needs to be called out when trying to shorten the course (its you against you buddy)! AND Flipper missed his calling. While being a dynamic, charasmatic front man might have passed him by, he is the one guy YHC would put in the air guitar competition without question. Amazing show and I cannot wait for the encore. If you were not there…………………..well I hope you enjoyed your vacation, ’cause Flipper is AMAZING. Well done buddy! Here is the song list if you choose to add to your cassette tape collection.

It was a please to lead this and thank you for the mumble chatter. It was GREAT! Have a wonderful weekend!
