There was some confusion about the number of LBCs in each round , once that got fixed things went smoothly. Mumblechatter was lite this morning, not sure if that was do to counting or exertion. Im saying exertion.

    NMS:

Great morning in the gloom with you boys!  Enjoyed the mumble chatter and jokes pertaining to Rosco’s wardrobe brightness, you can catch him at Midlo Middle directing traffic during the week.  Good to have Beaker back out as well as Bobber representing the Hallsley crew.  Also enjoyed partnering with Gumbo, he knocked out the LBCs in round one, not sure I even had to do 50, strong work dude, way to push!  Also, there was a Wilson sighting, glad to see him out of the fartsack and pushing hard!  Have a great day boys see you in the gloom tomorrow for a Gumbo Q at Timberwolf!

Namerama, numberama and Swirly led us out.

Moleskin:  This BB is written with much to be grateful for.  At the top of the list at the time of this writing is laughter. Despite the early mornings and hard work, a smile or joke isn’t too far behind.  This morning, there were lots of laughs to be shared.  Let this be the reminder that of all the accomplishments to strive for, let us not forget how important that fun is.

Not speaking of laughter, Welcome FNG Marcel Marceau. You absolutely crushed it today! In the entomology of F3 names, this has the makings of a classic.  Jeff introduces himself -> says he’s got kids in college -> says he has a master’s degree from the Colorado School of Mines -> YHC heard Colorado School of “Mimes” -> Bootleg was quick to identify a famous mime “Marcel Marceau” (are there really any others) -> Marcel Marceau.

Mosey to the basketball court – 1 suicide (for Circle K)

Mosey back to the flag… found Lab Rat and heard a report on his workout, YHC took us out.

    NMS

YHC woke up early without an alarm and was fired up to lead the PAX in a beatdown that would focus on many of YHC’s weakest exercises. YHC arrived in the parking lot at 5:15 am and nobody was there as expected. 5:20 came… 5:25 came… 5:29 came… No one. 5:31 came… and YHC faced a decision… Pack it in and return to the fart sack or ENGAGE in the beatdown. The thrill of attacking this workout solo fueled the fire and off YHC went across the parking lot.

Lab Rat showed up a few minutes after YHC launched out and went a different direction. He completed a whole different workout on his own and he can report on that in the comments.

Leading a COP by myself was an odd but comical experience. YHC enjoys SSHs so he opted to go for the full 100 for the first time in many months. Nobody could complain because nobody was there. Calling out the cadence to myself is borderline insane but somehow was fulfilling at the same time.

Donkey kicks followed by bear crawls destroy YHC. So… YHC decided to do them. YHC is grateful to HoneyDo for pushing him to the edge of splash merlot with this combination over the last few years.

The most fun came during the 4x4x4x4’s. Cranking four 4×4’s out at four corners of a field produces a ton of pain. The running in between is no joke. This set of exercises truly tested the “You vs. You” mentality. YHC learned more about integrity this morning since nobody was there to see if there was any cheating going on. That actually made for greater accountability for knocking out the exercises without shortcuts.

The reunion with Lab Rat was a strong ending to the morning. He shared about his run to the track and his pull-ups. He shared about a similar experience about pushing through the exercises fully.

60+ degrees and rain feels great after the 4 degree mornings of a few weeks ago. We are getting closer to sunny and 70 every day!

I will break out this carnival of a workout again in the near future at DaVille and I am looking forward to seeing how it goes with a bigger crowd.

    The Carpenter

  • Plan B

Eight moist, yes I said it, spider runners gathered under the drive through in preparation for a run in the rain.  We waited, and waited and waited until 5:29 when YHC threw out Plan B.

Route was over the river.  Take the normal route out the south UR entrance, across the shopping center, across the bridge and downriver to various turn around points.  Loop around the half cloverleaf for 4 milers (no takers today).  Turn around at rock falls for 5 milers.   6 milers pulled an audible and turned right just past rattlesnake creek and meander our way up to Cherokee.  Everyone turned around and made it safely back to the start.

    Moleskin
YHCs streak of impeccable instructions continues.  Today’s route was familiar.  Instructions included go across the bridge and go downriver.  Turn around where you see fit and come back.  Singer looked slightly confused but was working it out in his head and confirmed with:  “if you are coming across the bridge you go left, correct?”.  Correct.  Someone else retorted with “go under the bridge”.  Saab attempted to clarify the instructions by telling everyone to go west which was incorrect.  Whichever your preference, Singer’s, the retorter’s or my original downriver instructions would have been accurate.  West, unfortunately, was inaccurate.

Great run today.  It was nice to have a headwind at the start so it would follow us home.

    Announcements

Moleskin: Your higher power will keep giving you lessons until you learn them.  If you ever feel like you keep doing the same dumb things, or keep getting stuck then that is on you for not listening very well.  This morning was a great example of focusing on what you can control.  You can’t control the weather.  You can’t control the temperature.  You can’t control the condition of the AO.  You can’t control what time it starts. Unless you are the Q you can’t control what exercises are on the menu.  You can’t control if there was unexpected traffic on the way.

You can control your perspective, your mind and how you respond.  If you can do those things in adverse circumstances, then you can do them anywhere.

News: The CSAUP BB is up.

See Honey Do and Upchuck for info on training with the gentlemen of Healing Place

See Rosie if you’d like to help with weekend with Breaking Bread this Sunday.

    Be super,

  • Little Data

Or is it Small Data?  It was 70 and sunny at Heartbreak Ridge, so YHC expects to see record numbers at the other AOs.

The THANG: Post next week, and YHC will be happy to Q it again.

Announcements: Solid VQ by Bootleg yesterday.  Was that computer code in the BB (“++”, “-=”)?

  • Better this time

Pleasant temperatures and breeze from the west made posting easier for three of us at this week’s Punisher.  Change Order opted out although YHC briefly entertained an offsite mosey to the Hermitage Road renovation he is overseeing.  Sonny finished run prior to the workout and arrived at the site just before the start.

We stuck to the school site and went at it like so:  COP with SSHs, Hillbillies, IWs, DQs, LBCs, APDs, and Arm Circles.

Mosey to the blacktop behind the school for 4 corners with 10 x 2 Count Mountain Climbers, 20 x Carolina Dry Docks, 30 x APDs, and 40 x LBCs.  Complete 2 more rounds, increasing reps by 5 each round.  Relocate to the adjacent playground for 5 x Pullups with Bear Crawl breaks x 3 sets.

Slide to the soccer field for 11s – start with 10 x Squats and 1 x Hello Dolly.  Hop up and jog to the midpoint of the soccer field for 9 and 2 and continue back and forth until 1 and 10 are completed.  Jog to the bus loop for a short plank walk sequence.  Stagger over to the city sidewalk for Mary – start on one sidewalk square and complete 10 x LBCs.  Hop up and hit the next available sidewalk square for 10 x 2 Count Freddy Mercuries.  Hop up again and hit the next square for 10 x Box Cutters.  Repeat sequence several times.

Return to the front school yard with a couple of minutes to spare for short stretching sequence.  Numberama, namerama, and YHC took us out.

    Nice work guys.

  • Sourdough starter

A PAX four strong posted for last week’s Punisher.  We assembled in the Linwood Holton Elementary School parking lot and headed to the grass for the initial COP with SSHs, Imperial Walkers, Don Quixotes, and Arm Circles.

We moved a short distance to the school wall for a Quadruple Check – yes, like the other, but with 4 of things instead of 3 – People’s Chair, Plank, 6 Inches, and a mosey to Laburnum and back.  We headed around the back of the property to the playground and completed alternating exercises at the benches circling the playground area.  On the first pass, we alternated Incline Merkins and Seated Knee Raises, with a mosey for half the perimeter and a lunge for the other half.  On the second pass, we alternated Decline Merkins and Step Ups.  We moseyed to the outdoor classroom for a Lindsay with Dips and 2 Count Freddy Mercuries.  With a couple of minutes to spare we held a Plank and completed some light Chum Yoga.  We returned to the parking lot and YHC took us out.

Apologies for not posting sooner.  See you in the gloom.
