  • Breaking New Ground

The Ruckhenge ShieldLock adventured into new areas around the AO, sharing the pleasure of shouldering a log, stopping at every culdesac and turnaround for variable reps, and chatting about all manner of things, not least of which was the latest chapter of the Atomic Habits book we are reading. Essentially, your environment provides cues which trigger your habits – so, change your environment to support/simplify the habits you are working toward while reducing visibility/accessibility of those habits you are trying to remove. Simple, but true. Thank you gentlemen for permitting me the honor of leading you this morning. Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • Exploring the space

We did 3 miles and a bunch of exercises and never left Pocahontas middle.

We started off moseying to the track and doing a lap. After 25 merkins, we did two more laps, moseying the curves and sprinting/running fast on the straightaways. We then hit the football field and did some suicides (to the 10, 20, 30, 40 and then a full 100). After that joy, we did a quarter pounder of 25 merkins at the 25, 50 heals to heaven at the 50, then 75 squats and 100 SSH, bernies back to the goal line after each.

And then we went crazy and ran a lap the other direction and then did 5 burpees. Then more two laps the “wrong” way, sprinting the straightaways. Then for shits and giggles we did two 100 yard sprints.

After catching our breath, we moseying to the tennis courts and did 4 corners of 25 HRM, 25 wide merkins, 25 jump squats and 25 two count hammers.

After a mosey back to the start, we hit 3 miles and closed out.

The Bridge this weekend–reach out to Bootleg for carpool instructions. Great to have Wild Thing joining us from York, PA.

    Thanks for letting me lead.

  • 3 Cheery Ol’ Chaps emerged from the gloom for a delightful game of Mammoth Bawls! YHC emerged moments after the buzzer sounded as Tuesdays always seem to be the hardest days to rise from the ol’ fartsack. It was rather chilly out so this Q ball had the chaps follow along with a not so warmup(still chilly) with a mosey down the parking alley, side strut beyond the dog park, across the wee bridge and back to our rather cold bawls for some SSH’s, Michael Phelps, DQ’s and leg stretches.

  • Apparently the Internet is a Liar

8 of SOJs finest came out with a kettlebell in hand ready for a smoke show. According to the internet, 3 moves will give you a full body work out. YHC decided to put this to a test.

Quick mosey around the parking lot to get the blood warmed up. Back for some DMH, cherry pickers, Don Quixote, helicopters, arm circles, walk out merkins.

Truth or Lie? Today was a four corner lady of the night test. Our 3 moves, at each corner, 10 burpees, 20 goblet squats, 30 KB swings. The PAX was able to make 11 out of the 14 corners until time was called. Totaling 110 burpees, 220 goblet squats, 330 KB swings.

The surveyed PAX determined that the internet was a liar. Biceps were not flexed. But Q was happy due to the belly aching mumblechatter and apparently needs to be iced. Time to look at the Q sheet.

    Numbers, names, PR, COT

Always a pleasure and honor to lead you gents!

  • River Run Volume 145

Doozy volunteered to rejoin a River Run outing and so off we went. 5:29 AM sharp. 4 mile route around the flats of Tarrington, the river and then up the hill across from the baseball field which YHC had strangely not recalled running.

    Thanks for the company Dooz.

  • A Bermuda first!

4 HIMs came out to the Bermuda Triangle for Doolittle’s VQ. We kicked things off with a mosey to the lower parking lot then back to the field for the warm-o-rama. Rattled off 20 SSH, imperial walkers and Ukrainian soldiers. The main event followed, a beatdown to target the 3 major muscle groups (Arms, Legs and Core). 3 stations were set up with a 4th acting as a timer. No rep counts, just you v you. Round 1 consisted of Merkins, lunges and WW2s. Timer would farmers carry the length of the field and then run back. Once he returned everyone rotates to next station. After everyone had a shot at a station exercises changed to include coupons. Curls, squats and American hammers, then go back to original movements. Repeat 3x then mosey over to the yoga mat where everyone selected an exercise for 2x around. These included oblique LBCs, stiff leg LBCs, regular LBCs, alphabet soup with your feet, box cutters, more American hammers, v lifts and more. Put coupons away and back to the flag for COT, announcements and prayer requests.

  • Ode To Our Furry Friends

A formidable 15 arrived to run/bike/walk. Out and back routes were administered with surprisingly no questions nor complaints…which YHC is prone to do.

Please support Faceplant in his (infant) diaper drive, and you’ll be helping families with limited means to afford such necessities. He is also accepting monetary contributions…

  • Who let the dogs out?

16 gathered for this weeks Heartbreak Ridge, offsite edition.

Mosey down from Heartbreak to Quioccasin and left on Westridge and then left on Camrose. Triple Checks leading up Camrose. Every round we moved further up the road with a goal of reaching Gayton. Unfortunately Gayton wasn’t reached but we heard every neighborhood dog along way. On the way back we turned right on Vassar and left on Farmington. We discovered one lone car who was driving what felt like 35-40 mph down a narrow road, luckily we could see it coming with plenty of time to get off the road.

Quick group work at the Monkey Bars at QMS. 2 minutes of Mary to finish things.
