  • Frosty Bells! Oh! Frosty Bells!

3 strapping young lads and an FNG emerged into Mammoth Mountain for a frosty one that included sandbags and kettlebells.

Mosey 1/3 mi. Around the football trail for Warmarama

    • Ukrainian Soldiers
    • Cherry Pickers
    • Busch Garden Machines
    • Tie Fighters
    • The Wives

Grab all the toys and take them over to the frosty Bermuda.
Partner Up- Each PAX makes their way across the field P1 – bearcrawl pull through with KB of your choice. P2- does a lunge walk with sandbag.

Assemble the KBs in a large circle and play Musicall Kettlebells. Each PAX works their way around each kettlebell doing 11 reps per kettlebell of an exercise chosen by a PAX member. Leroy Jenkins came into play during this COP.

Oh look a sheriff! 10 Burpees!

    CoT! Numbers and Names!

Wonka’s brother in law joined us for Mammoth this morning, Harrison (31) from upstate NY? Or more like all over the country, told us of his story of he and his wife quitting their jobs and traveling all over the countryside, Thus, he was to be named Teton after the Grand Teton mountains. Thanks for coming out Teton! We hope you continue to make some F3 visits.

  • the game before The Game

YHC and a closely related FNG joined the pax at The Dam, in Columbus, for a gloomy game of ultimate football. A light up football was the MVP, with huge plays from FNG Cracker & YHC and of plenty of penalty burpees for all.

    I’m grateful for:

    1. The warm welcome from Castaway, Jar Jar, and the other pax
    2. The chance to school them on the proper name for a Pickle Pointer, i.e. Alabama Prom Date
    3. The opportunity to demonstrate proper form of said APDs in full view of many cars passing by.

It was great to hang out with a group of fine HIMs who already understand what real college football is. Kudos to Nancy for the tireless work educating the Richmond pax. Go Bucks!

  • Post Thanksgiving Corn Hole

A smaller than usual PAX of only 3 came out this morning to burn off the turkey, sides and bourbon that was consumed yesterday. Apparently, the tryptophan and bourbon got the best of our guys! The gloom greeted us with perfect conditions for a little twist on cornhole. According to the black Friday shoppers speeding down the hill, this is how it went down:

Warm Up Mosey and various IC exercises

The Main Event: Corn hole board set up with each PAX member getting 4 bags to toss. Flip over poker chip with exercises written on them. Quantity starts at 50 – for each bag on the board we subtract 5, for each bag in the hole we subtract 10, for missing all bags we either run to the top of the hill OR perform 10 HRM Burpees (Throwers Choice). Each PAX member got to toss 4 times with the big penalty of running/burpees occurring 3 times, before the rules changed. 5th time around the penalty changed from not hitting the board at all to not getting a bag in the hole in which the penalty occurred 2 times. Last round each PAX flipped 1 poker chip and got 1 toss at the board. Hit it in the hole and we take away the exercise, otherwise we performed quantity of 10. Our arms were clearly getting tired from all of the reps, and we ended with having to perform all 3 exercises. Exercises consisted of Curls, Skull Crushers, OH Thrusters, APD with OH Lifts, Incline Merkins, Decline Merkins, Squats, Lateral Lunges, Squat Thrusters, Bus Drivers, Plank Pull Thrus with Spidermans, WW3s, Dips and I am sure a few more I can’t remember.

Time Called, Numbers, Names, Announcements (Daddy/Daughter Dance 12/6), Prayers (Wildcat and his battle, YHC’s daughter’s friend who had surgery for 3rd broken arm on Wednesday, Da Bear for quick healing from injury during frisbee yesterday)

Thanks for showing up fellas. With a “I will plan on it” from Wilson, I tried to keep the running at a minimum in the planning. Thought about leaving the board, bags and poker chips in his driveway and texting him to let me know when finally woke up and got his ass up to complete the workout so I could come back and grab the items. Pleasure leading you fellas today and hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving!

  • Thanksgiving miracles

24 grizzled veterans of F3RVA, 1 Prodigal F3RVA son, 2 grown 2.0’s, and 1 F3 out of towner (28 total) joined to see what this years Mary Mumford Thanksgiving workout would bring and this is what happened.

    Slaughter Start, 10 Burpees.

Mosey out and around the Recess Blacktop/Tennis Courts and back to the Blacktop for a COP.

Mosey over to TYA’s field for Four Corners: Corner (1) 10 HRM’s, corner (2) 20 WWII’s, corner (3) 30 Squats, corner (4) 40 Burpees (groans immediately ensued). As we made our away around the corners at corner 3 YHC instructed the Pax to find a partner and complete 40 Burpees combined.

The Pax kept their partners and completed 20 (2-Count) Partner WWII’s and 20 (2-Count) Boo-Yeah Merkins.

The Pax ditched their first partner and found 2 more for a Triple Check. P 1 run diagonal across the field to the far Tree and back, P2 LBC’s, P3 Squats.

Once completed YHC called on The Prodigal Son (Toga) and asked how many years he has been gone from RVA (8) and then asked him to pick an exercise that we should do 8 times. Toga picked Richard Kimballs. After explaining what the hell they were the Pax completed them.

Next we completed exercises as individuals in the narrow part of the field at the small trees. Bear Crawl to the first tree then complete LBC’s, Crab Walk to the second tree and do ? (YHC can’t remember).

At the end of field YHC asked Fudd how long he had been gone from RVA (3), Gumbo then proclaimed that he was “going away” for 3 years so we YHC asked Fudd to pick an exercise that we could do 6 of. Fudd was speechless so Gomer finished his sentence (Burpees), its amazing how couples finish each others sentences.

Mosey back to the Monkey Bars and get 2 partners for another Triple Check. P1 runs to the closer Gaga Pit and back. P2 does Incline Merkins. P3 does (5) Pull Ups then Al Gores or Squats waiting for their partner.

Mosey back over to the field and get a new partner and complete 10 (2-Count) Partner WWII’s and then complete 20 Boo-Yeah Jump Squats.

Mosey back to the Parking Lot and for 2 minutes of Mary. Flutter Kicks and APD’s to close the workout.

Announcements – Kubota is signed up to lead The Bridge on Saturday, December 27th (2 days after Thanksgiving). See Slack/send a DM to get in on the Clown Car. Breaking Bread needs a Q for January. Hitchhiker has created a new App called “Porta Dash” in case you need to find a Porta John while running.

    Prayer Requests – none

NMS – YHC was nervous to be filling in for TYA for the legendary Thanksgiving workout. YHC has contemplated presenting the “real” history of Thanksgiving, but YHC decided to let TYA’s alternative history reign. Thank you for the opportunity to lead.

  • The week of the game

What better way to start TTUN (That Team Up North) week than a Q at the Alamo. Some trivia was mixed in, and the PAX failed miserably. I will really need to add Buckeye education in my Q’s over the next year. YHC found himself feeling like Flyboy talking to the PAX about helicopters being met with Blank stares.

    Buckeye Trivia:

Who is the only 2 time Heisman Trophy winner? Archie Griffith

Who won the Natty in the first 4 team playoff and the first 12 team playoff? The Buckeyes!

What state was Woody Hayes in when asked about getting gas he replied “ We will not spend one cent in this state, if we run out of gas we will push the Bus to Ohio”. TSUN

Who was the linebacker Woody punched at the end of the 1979 Gator Bowl, effectively ending his career? Charlie Bauman

How many National Championships does Ohio State have? 9

*The events described here are based on true events.  Some of the names, places and exercises may have been changed to protect the innocent.  This was also modified to fit your screen.

Quick mosey around the to start.  COP- 20 each SSH, LBC; Willy Mays Hayes, 10 Each, Jim Duggan’s,  Jazzercise, Helicopters, Imperials Walkers, , Copper head squat, Cherry pickers, Merkins, Dollies, Flutters.

The Thing: Horseshoe (In honor of the greatest stadium in all of sports). Progressive starting at 5 building by 5 up to 35 and then back down. Many exercises were performed.

YHC took us out in prayer. Have a Happy and safe Thanksgiving.

  • Potato Del Fuego

With many of our Crossing brethren out of town or busy……….it was the perfect night to break out the hot potato. Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure.

Mosey to the lower parking lot for a Warm-Up led by yours truly: Ukranian Soldiers, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Mountain Climbers, Plank Jacks, LBC’s, Heels to Heaven, Flutter Kicks, Mario Jumps, Knee Pulls, Side Lunges, Crab Walk. Probably missed a few – everything was done in perfect cadence.

Pass things over to House Party who took us on a lap around the complex with stops for 30 HR Merkins, 60 WWII sit-ups, 90 Monkey Humpers, and 120 Flutter Kicks.

Next up was Birdman who broke out a 4 corners with 20 Merkins, 25 Diamond Merkins, 30 Werkins, and 35 Carolina Dry Docks. We made our way back to the flag and mixed in some lunge walks.

The potato made its way back to YHC who called a Triple Check with Kettlebell Swings, Curls with Kettlebell, and run around the parking lot.

House Party finished things up with some assorted ab exercises.

YHC tooks us out via the COT

Final Thoughts: Had a great time collaborating with House Party and Birdman – well done fellas. We all have so much to be thankful for, so let’s enjoy the holiday!

  • Stranger Things Run

YHC and Bullseye left the larger SOT crowd for a jaunt through the underworld known as Salisbury. 4ish miles in and around the hood and back to the point of beginning. No sightings of #001, #011 or the Hellfire Club. Nice hang at the StrangerBucks for coffee after.
