8 gloom titans took Bermuda by storm this morning. I asked myself – “have I been good this year? Should I splurge on a present for myself?” The answer was yes – so during the workout 36 burpees was my gift to myself. I shouldn’t have!! Great crowd and honored to lead for my belated 36th bday Q. Thanks to Boberry and Warby for making the trip, props to Dipstick for his 2nd workout (1st one was at the Saturday at convergence), and what a surprise treat with an FNG coming out! Trip (dubbed “Eastbound”, looks like Kenny Powers from Eastbound and Down) joined us from the Xcel truck shop pipeline, great job to Poolboy and Big Rig for continuing to EH Guys.

Finished with some names, numbers, announcements and prayers. Try to sign up for the bridge! Great experience. Also – YHC shared some news with the group that the M and I will be relocating to Pennsylvania to be closer to family and start one of our own. YHC will still be traveling back for work most weeks and posting a few times a month, but my leadership presence over the weekends especially will be sparse. I want to thank EVERYONE for such an amazing 14 months with F3 here. Keep an eye out for State Farm ‘going away’ Q coming soon! SYITG.
6 man children got to the jungle gym EARLY for some pull-ups and dips. Almost had to double take when I saw how packed it was! Great way to start out the belated birthday Q. We worked on form muscle-ups/pullups with the bands. Props to Eastbound (FNG) for cranking out a muscle up with bands on his first try! Pays to be 19 yrs old and lean!
COP 1 – 11’s with pull-ups and dips
COP 2 – partner burnout pull-ups (assisted)
COP 3 – Partner Dips DORA to 50EA reps
Nice to get back into it after taking a break for a few weeks due to Iron Pax. Love having the large group there getting SWOLL.
9 men came out to see who was the Q at Heartbreak.
Mosey from Parking Lot to the QMS Bus Loop for a COP. Mosey back to the Parking Lot to pick up Microblocks. 9 men and 9 Blocks. Circle up for various exercises (Overhead Presses, Curls, Skull Crushers, Squats)
Mosey down to the Football Field and get in groups of 3. P1 Runs to the opposite goal with the Block and leaves the block there. P2 and P3 do various exercises. P2 Runs to the opposite goal and retrieves the Block. Repeat 5 times.
Circle up for and pass the Block to the left for 1 minute.
Hold Block over your head, the first one that drops has to do 5 Block Burpess. Ciciaron decided to rest the Block on his head, that counted as a drop.
Mosey back to the flag for 10 Merkins of choice OYO to finish us off.
Announcements – Flatlines CPR class, please see Slack.
Prayer Requests – Fudd’s sister as she manages her Cancer. Prayers for treatment and her family.
NMS – not much mumble chatter today. It’s been a while since YHC brought the Blocks to Heartbreak but when they are already loaded into ‘Lil Blue you can help but use them! Have a great day.
According to the dogs in the tron collars, the following may have happened. After admiring the morning darkness with light obscured by clouds, directions were simple and to the point. Batcave, across the river, and downstream. 4s turn at Oxford, 5s at Rockfall, and 6s at the quarry (or crevasse filled with water on the right).
In this post, we memorialize our fundraising and 10 year award winners.
Futon Q – Fundraising for the event and Team Brightside
First of all, I just want to personally thank each and every one of you for being out here today to support not only the 10th anniversary of F3 in Richmond, but to support Team Brightside and in raising awareness for pediatric cancer. Today would not have happened if it weren’t for the OGs that brought F3 to Richmond. Speaking on behalf of the PAX, we can’t thank you enough for starting and growing this brotherhood. The fellowship portion of this morning also wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for the companies and people that so graciously provided in kind donations to all of you. I just wanted to say a huge thank you to:
Wawa for donating the soft pretzels
Wegmans for donating the energy bars, muffins, scones and apples
Libby Market for donating the bananas
Honeymoon and Niagra for donating the waters
Athletic Brewing Company for donating the non alcoholic beers
Boberry and Honey Baked Ham for donating the tea and lemonade
Gypsy and Ataraxia Farms for donating the gatorades
Upchuck and Shakedown for buying the coffee
September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, so what better way to show our fellowship than coming together to raise money for this great cause. Before announcing our total that F3 RVA has collected for Team Brightside, there are a few individuals/companies that I wanted to recognize that went above and beyond to help push this number so high. We had quite a few companies provide us with gift cards to help with these fundraising efforts:
First off, for donating $6,492.46 from 155 kids in Midlothian, VA who in exchange received back to school pictures. Thanks to Swoop’s M – Jennifer Gavin with Jennifer Gavin Photography, Jennifer is receiving a gift package that was donated by Cooper’s Hawk Winery including a mega bottle of house red wine, a 3 month wine club subscription and a wine tasting for two.
For headlocking his company into matching our first $10,000 raised, a big thanks to Rudy and Davis Infrastructure. Rudyis receiving a $50 gift card to Stumpy’s Hatchet House for Ax Throwing that was donated by Pele at Stumpy’s Hatchet House
For headlocking his company into a one month drive for raising money for Team Brightside as well as a company match, a big thanks to State Farm and Clover Creek Solar for bringing in $8,845. State Farm is also receiving a $50 gift card to Stumpy’s Hatchet House for Ax Throwing that was donated by Pele and Stumpy’s Hatchet House.
The following HIMs reached deep in the pockets and donated $500 each. A big thanks to Hermes, Gomer Pyle and Blacktop. Each of them will be receiving a $25 gift card that was donated by Capital Ale House.
The following HIMs also dug not quite as deep, but decently deep in the pockets and donated $300 each. A big thanks to Warby, Upchuck and Rosie. Each of them will be receiving a $25 gift card that was donated by Jimmy Johns.
Shout out to Wildcat, Swoop and Yeehaw starting their Team Brightside fundraisers for a triathlon they are competing in at Kiawah Island in the next month or 2.
Finally, I just wanted to recognize the daycare that Yeehaw and I (as well some other PAX members I believe) use for childcare. They were looking for a “local” non profit to use for their Spring Fling and after I presented what we were doing, they graciously agreed to use Team Brightside as their charity of choice. A big thanks to Primrose of Midlothian Village for raising $4,425 from their Spring Fling back in April.
Again, thanks to all for your donations and spreading the word to truly make a huge impact for pediatric cancer research and development through Team Brightside. We set a goal back in March to raise $10,000 for the 10 year anniversary and I am excited to share that we collectively raised $54,073.41!

Over the last 10 years hundreds of men have posted for a workout. Few have had the longevity and impact that the following men have had on F3 RVA. I now introduce to you the inaugural F3 RVA Corporate Legends Class of 2024. These names will not likely be a surprise as they are the standard.
First up, is a guy who’s always the first to know when it’s raining, but more importantly he’s the magician behind all of F3 RVA’s IT needs. Need a new alias, can’t find the Q sheet, can’t post a backblast? You know who to call. When he’s not logging miles at Spider Run, or trying a new IPA, he’s pissing excellence as the god of #Big Data. The one and only Splinter.
Next up, is a guy whose name is synonymous with his frequent state of being. When not on the brokedick brigade, you will most often find him at Spider Run, RAMM, WDog, 45MOM, or DogPile, perhaps mid-workout making a pitstop at Starbucks. He’s one of our founders, our first Nant’an, and the connection to the mothership that got this thing started. The godfather himself, Bleeder.
Next up, is a guy who’s accomplished more than many of us will ever dream. He’s tough as nails and has a mouth to match. Trust me you have to be tough when you have a face like his. His affinity for Boston, Shakira, and Everything Bagels is matched only by his love for the men of F3 RVA, BRR, and wearing women’s clothes. Original thanksgiving denier, the Aggressor himself, TYA.
Lastly, the guy who really needs no introduction. Securer of AOs, your #1 fight club draft pick, and the sole member of the 2000 posts club. After nearly 300 Qs and backblasts he still can’t spell Mosey for shit. Steady is the drip that wears the rock away, the GOAT, Swirly.
NMS – Great work for the last 10 years gents. Lets keep it growing!
Seven locals attended River Run for a little (or long) jog through the streets of Midlothian. As Doozy presented, the route was chosen: Roller coaster. Otherwise if you felt compelled, Doozy provided a 10 mile route which all but himself politely declined.
The gaggle of Chaps made a strong appearance, leaving the fours in the dust at the hill. Chap’s going to have his hands full trying to keep the kiddos pace pretty soon. Lone Wolf, Bullseye and YHC puttered around for 42 minutes in varying paces but managed to log 4 miles.
Walking COT to end, trying out new things.
Quickly, the 10 year convergence was a sight to behold, brought back a lot of memories to see everyone at one event. Thanks to those who put it on. Congrats to Rosie overtaking the lead for our region, well deserved, and to Gomer for his services.
10 HIMs fought off the comforts of the Monday Morning Fart Sack to catch YHC’s first post at Hoedown in nearly 2 years. As YHC headed to the second darkest AO in the West End, YHC’s mind raced a mile a minute. What to do? Head Off campus? It’s been nearly two years…. does the PAX even park in the same lot? A welcomed sight pulling onto Lindsay Drive reminded YHC was at the right spot…. BIG BLUE had secured the AO!
Fumbling for words as to why YHC wore long sleeves whereas Swirly had ripped his off, the clock struck go time and the PAX mosey’d down Helper Rd. Circle up at Paris for a quick COT
SSHs, Imperials Walkers, DQs, Dead Man Hang, Few Merkins and LBCs, time for the field trip YHC talked YHC out of. Instead of a hard right to Trinity UMC, YHC forged the PAX back to TES for a trio of partner exercises
The Thang
Dora 50-100-200
Handrelease merkins, Two Count Flutters, Monkey Humpers
Pace car Bear Crawls of the hill and moseys back
ABCs for the Six
Triple Check #1
Mosey to the blacktop
Pace car moseys the length of the court and back
other exercises: people’s chair and mountain climbers
Triple Check #2
Mosey to the cafeteria wall
Pace car lunges to Big Blue and moseys back
other exercises: reverso crunches and BTTW
5 mins of broga, stretching to close out the gloom
Numberama, Namerama, YHC Took us out.
Pleasure to lead at the closest AO to YHC’s home. Been too long. Enjoyed seeing some PAX YHC hadn’t in a while.
YHC isn’t up to date on announcements, see slack for further details.

Mosey back to the parking lot for some Mary
One-legged crunches – each side
APDs
COT with YHC taking us out
Great work from the PAX today. Extra credit for Splinter for the pre-run. Gomer never fails to disappoint. During the swing thrusts, we got a little Right Said Fred karaoke from the prince of sexiness himself. Well played.
A Baker’s Dozer (minus one) met at The Alamo to see what Handshake had to offer. YHC was expecting a group of young Thoroughbreds but we joined by a group of middle aged Clydesdales.
Mosey across the parking lot for a COP with various exercises. Mosey back to ‘Lil Blue and grab 1 Microblock for each team. Mosey over to the far side of the Parking Lot by the Tennis Court. In groups of 2 we did the following. P1 runs all the way around the Parking Lot while P2 does a rotating exercise each round with the Block (Overhead Presses, Curls, Skull Crushers, WWII Presses, Swings, Bench Press, etc). Once P1 has returned they rotate. After each partner has run we moved forward 1 spot and then repeated. We began at 5:39 and by 6:11 we were still going but YHC called it.
Mosey back to ‘Lil Blue and get in a circle with a Block for every man. We did a Puff Puff Pass where we handed off Blocks to the left, then switched back to the right until time expired.
Announcements – CPR class in October, see Flatline and Slack.
Prayer Requests – none today.
NMS – Good workout today, pretty sure we are all still tired from the Convergence. Great job for everyone with all their hard work, it was certainly a run-heavy workout but YHC’s arms are still tired.
