YHC took us out
Final thoughts: Great crew this morning with some lively mumblechatter and wild stories……….Too much to include in the backblast. Everyone was looking strong today – and it was confirmed that Bullseye is still alive.
SYITG -
(Circus Maximus) Walk a bout.
9 Young men beat the sun up this morning to explore some newish territory and get in some steps. It was mildly warm out with some stars and satellites to watch over the pax.
Here is what YHC somewhat remembers…
1- Burpee then a mumbling kettle bell toting pax moseyed to the stadium parking lot for some quick introductions and disclaimers. COP- SSH, Don-Quixotes, Dead man hang, Ukrainian Solders, Fudd, Wilson, HRM, WW2, LBC, Scissor.
4-Corners in stadium parking lot. *Watch out for all the cars. Not sure what they were doing up so early. 10-Curl, 10-Squat, 10-Overhead, 10-Benchpress.
Mosey to Admin front parking lot for a Triple Check. Timer ran around the parking lot island while we did Squats & Curls.
Mosey to front bus loop. 20-Curb Dips + 20 Merkins. X3…
Mosey to front left corner of school stopping at every single tree on left side for (2) Kettle Bell exercises. YHC should have counted the trees first. A lot of trees to admire.
Found the wall for 10-head, knees and toes, air punch’s & donkey kicks.
Mosey back to the flag while doing (2) more deep kettle squats at every overhang pole.
Mosey back to the flag for a COT. Attila took us out with a super inspiring prayer. No Prayer requests and only one announcement. Come visit Senor Frog Monday at HoeDown for his 1 year Q.

New Guy, New Glory
Nine PAX, including the latest FNG from the DTH Practice pipeline, posted to the Forge for something challenging – they were presented with the NEW GLORY, a more than sufficient challenge for all comers. This periodic routine, similar to the Old Glory enjoyed by NoTollers earlier this week, provides a measure of physical fitness. The goal would be to outdo prior scores/times. Since almost all of our PAX today completed this for the first time – they have established a baseline. Here follows what these SOJ heroes accomplished this morning:
The THANG:
WARMERAMA:
- Brief running tour around the NG circuit highlighting each of the 14 COP’s
- Circle up for Disclaimer and a few Warmerama reps IC
- Stretch awaiting the 05:40 kickoff time
NEW GLORY
- Complete as many rounds as possible within the 30 minute timeframe, ideally maintaining good form
- Starting point at the Shovel Flag

- #7: Lunge walk to the end gate
- #8: Complete x20 Jerkins on the Rails
- Run up Mount Chaplain, stopping at each new paved landing to complete assigned exercise…

- HP took the PAX out in Prayer
NMS: A big welcome to Alex, renamed SABLE today after his home-country of Zimbabwe’s Rugby Team – he joined us yesterday for the H.Flatwater ruck, and also did very well with the NG course today. Also GREAT work from many others who tackled the New Glory for the first time today. YHC will look to Q this again in the Summer so you all can make an attempt to improve your time, though that may be challenging for NTB and State Farm who absolutely crushed three full rounds today! 🙌💪 Keep posting fellas! NMS: Solid effort put in by the PAX! The de-escalator crab&cakes took the cake on difficulty. Have had fewer numbers the last two weeks with inclement weather, but we have a good number of newbies still learning about F3, including the fact we’re there regardless of weather. They’ll be back. The Crossing is a strong AO, and we haven’t even began to scratch the surface of recruiting the men of WEAG. Speaking of recruiting, we have yet to see a WestHo veteran show up… who knows, maybe they need a little more light and will appear with the daylight savings time change. Keep posting brothers! ~DTH

You Sound Funny
An elite eight assembled outside the Huguenot Flatwater parking lot for another OTB ruck through the rolling Stratford Hills. Rather than our typical flat and fast roundtrip down Riverside Drive, YHC introduced the PAX to a hilly loop that covered approximately 3.5 miles. We hit a couple steep inclines on the out loop and then coasted back downhill to our vehicles, stopping for a quick detour at Chateau-de-NTB for 10 monkey humpers in front of the doorbell camera.
It was a pleasure to ruck with Mayhem for the first time, as well as welcome FNG Alex to the PAX.
FNG Alex and his family are members of the Dr. TryHard F3 factory known by most as Pediatric and Adolescent Health Partners and will earn his F3 name at The Forge tomorrow since today was an unsanctioned assault on the shoulders and lower extremities.
The backblast title is a light jab at the FNGs quite fascinating dialect which most of us Yanks are not accustomed to…

Beautiful WTH morning
We always enjoy a warm dry workout as we are leaving winter. 5 brothers crept out in the gloom this morning to keep working on ourselves. Left home base and headed towards the senior apartments at the end of Three Chopt Rd. stopped at first shopping center and did a little warm up: 10 SSH, 5 Helicopters, 5 Don Qs, 10 merkins, 20 LBCs. Time to keep moving towards our future home. Stopped again did 20 Merkins run touch pole across parking lot and back, 20 two count American hammers, run to pole and back, 20 two count Imperial walkers and run and back, 6 was in and off we went. Once at the senior community cul-de-sac. 20 merkins, run loop around parking pavilion, 20 reverse crunches, run loop again, 20 Hillbillies run loop, 20 burpees run loop, 20 American hammers to catch our breath and them mosey back to flag. At base, we had just enough time to fit in 20 more merkins and 20 more American hammers. COT Q closed up in prayer. 3.8 miles of ground covered . Announcement: The White animals will be leading Gridiron Q on Saturday, dont miss out for this promising workout, request for White Russians to close the workout was mentioned, We shall see what is to be. Was nice to have Offshore workout with us today. enjoy the week Brothers

Open Q sheet at First Watch???
10 gathered to include Honeydo in his Uncle Buck mobile for this weeks First Watch. Surprisingly at 6:30 on Tuesday there was no Q, so YHC jumped in and this is what transpired:
Mosey around the parking lot and over to the tip of the triangle for a COP of various exercises to include the newest hawtest exercise, the Pencil Roll.
Mosey down the hill of S Ridge to Overlook and let the 6 catch up. Mosey the rest of the way down the hill. Grab 2 partners for a Triple Check. P1 runs up to Overlook, P2 Alabama Prom Dates, P3 Squats. YHC was in the first group and quickly realized Overlook was really far away so YHC called and audible to turn around when people saw the sign on the left side of the road about 2/3rds of the way to Overlook. There wasn’t a single headlight in the group so people turned at various points.
Grab a single partner and do (2) rounds of 20 PLTs.
Keep the same partner and exercises were completed to make the way up the hill. R1 P1 does 20 Merkins while P2 Bear Crawls up the hill and then P1 runs to catch P2, switch. R2 P1 does 40 LBC’s while P2 Lunges up the hill and then P1 runs to catch P2, switch. R3 P1 does 10 downhill Burpess and P2 Bernies up the hill and then P1 runs to catch P2, switch.
Indigenous Peoples run the rest of the way up S Ridge to the Parking Lot.
Curb Crawl (Sans Curb), Bear Crawl to parking spot 1 and do 1 Merkin, then Bear Crawl to parking spot 2 and 2 do Merkins, keep going up to 10 Merkins.
1 minute of stretching to reach the time.
Announcements: March Streaking Challenge. Grow Ruck in May, Senor Frog 1 year Q on Monday at Hoedown
Prayer Requests – none
NMS – Not too much Mumble Chatter this morning, or at least YHC wasn’t participating. YHC had nothing planned and was trying to figure out the next step in the midst of the current step. Hopefully it was a good workout by all. Welcome back to Jack Sparrow.

Just one more mile??? Whatever!!
4 Long distance runners gathered in the Gloom to find out if YHC’s route was really 5 or was it actually 6 miles? Leave the Midlo Middle parking lot to the right, to Waldon Pond Rd, Right on Queensgate over the rollercoaster, right on Coalfield, Right on Midlo, BTTF.
Numbers / Names OC took us out
NMS: Rosie and YHC ran that route a few weeks ago and YHC thought it was a just under 5 mile route???? Oops, my bad. YHC turned around at the coalfield circle (around mile 4) and told Cookie only one more mile but at mile 5 turned back for the 6 again and had to tell Cookie 1 more mile. We are all better for it, well done gentlemen, well done.

Rinse and Repeat
Without ruckers, the same 3 guys as the week before gathered for a run around the Atlee High School community. With slight drizzle and all 3 guys being teachers and not needing to report to work that day, there had been conversation about a delayed start. Problem was 2 of those guys were in route to the AO, so there they were at 5:30 AM.
The Route was simple. With 2 of the PAX doing the Richmond Half Marathon on Saturday, a slow, tapered run was in store. They ran 2 miles to the front of Kings Charter and then ran back for 4 miles.
COT: Numberarama, Name-O-Rama, Announcements, Opus took us out.
NMS: Lots of mumblechatter this morning including YHC’s review of Star Wars, Episodes 1 – 3 since there has been a Star Wars marathon occurring in his house.
Announcements:
Go Vote – Today is the primary.
May 4 – Grow Ruck convergence
May 9 – Richmond Half Marathon
Gotta Run!
