  • Special Guests

5 SOJ ruckstallions converged for a 45min OTB ruck at The Forge, but quickly escaped the AO into the hills of Oxford. After a half-mile loop, the PAX found themselves at YHC’s house being introduced to our special guests, a collection of 8’ logs, procured specifically for such GTE#47 purposes. Two logs were selected and shouldered, and YHC was sure to include the big hill in our little log-training circuit. This was not easy, and yet the PAX made it look easy. YHC felt better once the logs were returned and the complaining commenced (phew! I’m not the only one who found that challenging!). These now extreeeeeemely experienced ruckers covered a little over 2.5 miles, and returned to find an HHS admin scoping our shovel flag and cars. Apparently Wednesday morning gets attention but being there at the same time every Thursday for the last FIVE years doesn’t get noticed? It was odd, “Mike” was invited to join F3, he backed away slowly. Purple Rain felt pretty sure (slathered with sarcasm) that he was a HC for coming out tomorrow… ha! Well, we’ll be there anyway. Thanks for letting me lead fellas! 🔥💪🙏

ANNOUNCEMENTS: The Crossing (new AO) kicks off this evening at 6pm at WEAG. Also, DTH and others are tackling a PRE-FrozenTriangle ruck this Sat AM (leave from Dogpile at 0600). See Slack for all other ruck options.
PRAYER REQUESTS: Pray for NTB as he and his M are grieving the loss of a loved one.

  • Last day of Dry January

5 faithful gathered this cool morning and got our steps in today. Living up to the running boot camp we covered 4 miles today. We ran to our popular neighborhood and hit the Cul-De-Sacs. First few we did 10 Merkins and 10 WW2s, after those we bumped up to 15 or each, on the way back to the flag we took the long way around the lake. 135 merkins, 135 WW2s completed with 4 miles run. Thought we lost Pigskin for a few mins at one point. A good day to workout! Reminders of frozen triangle coming up, closed in prayer and off to start the day!

  • Build a Beat

16 beasts lurking the the ice cold gloom. 1 beautiful Q to lead them on a merry musical chase.

Warmarama with Snuff’s mix cranked to the max: 6x each of SSHs, LBCs, plank jacks, mirkins, Lieutenant Dans, burpees. A foreboding preview of the the workout: Build a beast, with compliments to Oyster.

The beast ladder: run the field stopping to do 6×6 SSHs. Next, run it back with (6x SSHs and 6x LBCs)x6. Continue the ladder all the way up to 6x(6x SSHs, 6x LBCs, 6x plank jacks, 6x mirkins, 6x Lieutenant Dans and 6x burpees). 36+72+108+144+180+216= 756 reps

Miraculously finish with time to spare, so we ran the field and sprinted back.

Parking lot bear crawl with ascending mirkins, run it back with lunge walk and ascending squats.

Mosey back to the flag for COT and a whole host of announcements. Check Slack for details.

Gratitude for the music, for the morning, for the the beastly men who crushed the workout. More complaints about the music than the beatdown – now that’s impressive.

  • Lost in the Bermuda Triangle (Literally)

4 Pax got out of their fart sacks, wouldve been 5 but ShawShank admitted to fart sacking! 💨 We went to explore some of the surrounding neighborhood and ended up making a few wrong turns and couldn’t find our way back! Lost in the Bermuda Triangle!

Starting with some warm ups at the basketball courts…blah blah blah, and off for a little run to the neighboring neighborhood, ran around a few roundabouts onto a few cul-de-sacs where we performed some burbees, merkins, LBC’s, American Hammers, World War II’s … And some moree burpees. One cul-de-sac had a pile of small boulders which performed – which I like to call the “Stoners burpee!” State Farm had a cool name too but I forgot it!

on the way trying to get back to the flag we got lost! Broadway said to make a left and ran into another cul-de-sac so yes we did burpees… Then we ran some more and made a right onto another cul-de-sac! And yes some more burpees… This time we went straight (mind you it’s pitch dark) with us in headlamps scared this guy messing with his car in another cul-de-sac! So we did 1 burpee to keep it moving because this guy thought we were running up on him…lol.

Finally we went up a street that took us back towards the flag still with 10 minutes remaining we did 21’s in the parking lot doing WWII’s and American Hammers. Audibled to cut it short to run back to the flag.

    Annoucements:

Frozen triangle 2 Saturdays from now (do not show up to R&R that Saturday.

Prayers went out to Big Rigs mom and Broadway had prayers for someone too but I forgot what it was! Sorry man!

    • COT with YHC taking us out

Great work by the PAX today.  Several PAX members sported the short shirt tail, exposing the midriff for all to gag on.  Pasty and unsightly.  A lot to stomach (pardon the pun) in the gloom.  Great to have Pigskin back safe!

Check slack for upcoming Frozen Triangle and Grow Ruck.

God is good all of the time!

    Attila

  • Running Confessional

The miles covered and the words said is what it is all about.

  • Get the Flock Out

8 Ruckers and a canine fast paced it on the roads to preserve the trails. Roscoe enjoyed himself chasing flocks of geese away and clearing our path forward.

  • Up and Over

16 of the area’s finest runners tackled any impediment in their way, including obstacles on the 5 miler route.

    Great conversation as always.

    YHC took us out.
