The PAX was asked to figure out why I added 1 extra rep to all of the four corner exercises.  That exercise included performing addition.  That part of the workout had to be quickly abandoned out of fear we might never get the correct answer.  Simple math proved difficult.  The answer – I wanted to get to 71 to honor the most respected member of the PAX, Pigskin, on his birthday week.  YHC will never ask this group to do math again.

Welcome Roundup, a local organic farmer.  Do not be a stranger.  Nice work by Piglet on the headlock.

God is good all of the time!

  • Traveling Riverside Blues

Well….the weather was humid to say the least(a nice day for December to go out and get in a great morning workout). A group of 11 brave souls(1 FNG) ventured to see what I had to offer this morning and I did not disappoint. After a little WARMARAMMA(SSHs, Don Quixotes, Helicopters, Imperial Walkers, Copperhead Squats, Merkins and LBCs) we took a longer than usual mosey(I am sure others were going wait, what’s he doing). We hit a spot I have been wanting to try for a while, down the trail there’s a mini-hill so to start out: 3 rounds of uphill sprints with 10 merkins, jump squats, and WW2.

Next up: to one of my usual spots: partner up 25 hanging reverse ab crunches, 50 2-count Mountain climbers, 75 SSH(partner runs to the gate and back). A little mosey walk and run then onto the next part(the toughest one)

5 rounds: 20 V-ups, 20 Merkins, a little run around the speed bumps and back, then 20 squats(yes 5 rounds) that’s a tough one just the V-ups alone is hard but add the rest plus run takes it up a few notches.

Over to the concession stand wall for 2 1 minute rounds of Wall-sits(people’s chair) then the lot nearby for a 4 corner plank jacks with 1 merkin of a different kind(10-20-30-40 plank jacks, 1 regular, army ranger, navy seal and 10 count burpee)

Final part back at the starting point: 11s this time with murder bunnies and wide leg mountain climbers(I think we got to 3-4 then time was up) Count-outs, Names(welcome Chris(Bono) to the group) prayer lead by YHC to close out the session

Check Slack for future events(the Tacky lights run next week, 12 days of Rosie Xmas on the 19th). yes I do have a lot of Q upcoming this month: not for a set number but each one I am trying different things, adding something new to see how they work. My next one Tuesday at Bermuda already thinking of a couple of things that I want to try

  • Instructionally Challenged

11 Bootcampers and 2 Walkers met for what was believed for many to be Faceplants Dogpile VQ (5 years in the making) but they were delighted when it was realized it was a Handshake Q.

Mosey over to the Treeline between the 2nd Roundabout and the Hey Penny Stage for a quick COP

Mosey to the street just past the far side of the sunken field. 3 Burpees at every light on the left side of the street to the corner at the dog leg by the Tennis Courts (10 lightpoles total).

Mosey to the far side of the field and partner up (4 groups of 2 and 1 throuple). P1 in the Plank position with feet on the Swings and pull their feet back to their chest and back, P2 runs across the field and back, 3 rounds.

Circle Up. 25 WWI’s in cadence with opposite toe taps then 26 HRM’s, 26 WWI’s, and then 25 HRM’s 51 two-count SSH’s. Burpee Ring of Fire 1, person 1 does 15 total burpees but when they finish their 3rd then person 2 starts. Burpee Ring of Fire 2 the same way with 7 total burpees. Burpee Ring of Fire 3 the same way but with 1 Burpee.

Mosey to the far corner of the lake. Partner up and partners run the opposite direction around the lake and do 5 WWII’s.

Mosey back towards the flag, when at the corner by the former Police statue location stop and do 20 LBC’s in cadence. Continue to Mosey back to the flag and stop and partner up for 20 Boo-yeah Merkins. Mosey back to the flag for a singular round of Burpees. Finish with Upright APD’s.

Announcements – next Saturday 12/9 is the Magnum PI workout, bring your Hawaiian Shirts. 12/16 will be Faceplants official VQ at Dogpile. 12/19 is Rosie’s “12 days of Christmas” at No Toll.

Prayer Request – Snuffs daughter was in the car accident this week. Bone Thugs father is recovering from Sepsis.

NMS – great morning today, 52 degrees was way better than 20. Glad to see all the faces at the workout and then breakfast afterwards. YHC enjoyed the opportunity to lead and thankful the Pax felt they got their monies worth.

  • Nancy Describes a Fart

8 Friday freakshows swarmed Satan’s hill for a lovely beat down. Swoop was recovering from some winter gunk, so the PAX decided to toss it around for a hot potato pile up. While the Midlo breeze seemed still this morning – the brown wind was blowing hard around the New Market parking lot. Nancy provided a 5-10 minute diatribe of the worst booty toot he’d ever smelled – the rest of the squad farted through the following…

    • Warmarama
      • Oyster looped us around to the cul-de-sac for some various IC Warm-ups
      • SSH, Don Q, Helis, IW, Merkins, LBCs
    • We thought about doing 10 SSH and tossing it back to Oyster… but Cookie took the potato
    • Dora
      • 100 ball dippers
      • 150 Tricep Dips
      • 200 Squats

    Names, Numbers, Announcements

Prayers: I wanted to specifically give some praise for my little pup George making it through surgery after an encounter with a porcupine over the holiday. Big thanks to all my prayer warriors – God is good. Little dude is recovering just fine. Thank you again.

I love making the trek up to Satan’s Hill – always a fun group and a good chance to push some weight around at a great AO. Everyone brought their A-game and started the weekend off right!

  • Running is Evil

Five guys without a plan gathered, one quickly formed a plan.  Here is that plan:

    The Route

    • L on Pump
    • L on Falconbridge
    • R on Raintree
    • Cross Gayton and Continue until you hit Pump
    • Reverso back across Gayton to Raintree
    • L on Maremont
    • Circle Godwin if you dare
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

YHC “planned” to lead a hot potato a few minutes prior to launch, but a brief discussion was had, Raintree was mentioned, and no further toss of the Q was necessary.  For those who have forgotten, Raintree is hilly.  Early discussion involved the nature of good vs. evil.  YHC concluded that running is purely evil.  Later discussion between Mr.R and Lighthouse centered around Middle Eastern politics.  Doozy forged ahead of the PAX while YHC brought up the rear.  Prayers to Gypsy that he is good to go.  Notable PAX was missing.
