  • Spotted Leopard at Satan’s Hill

It was a perfect fall morning for 10 beasts, including a spotted leopard, to show up for a beatdown at Satan’s Hill. It was still a little dark to fully see, but it appeared that Cookie was rocking his leopard print leg warmers/socks and wouldn’t either confirm or deny if his under garments matched. Here is how it went down:

Warmup: Mosey to end of the parking lot and back to the flag for the following exercises: Deadman Hang, Cherry Pickers, SSH, Copperhead Squats, Leg Stretches, LBCs, Mosey to the top of Satan’s Hill.

COP 2: Triple Check in Prenoman Ln cul-de-sac – Carolina Dry Docks, Flutter Kicks and Runner to the cul-de-sac and back.

COP 3: Mailboxes on the right increasing by 2s (Worked up to 16) with Merkins until Farham Ln intersection.

COP 4: Mosey back to the flag for some cinder blocks on the hill. Partnered up for the following exercise routines: P1 performs mode of transportation up the hill, while P2 performs 10 count of cinder block exercise, then carries block to catch up with partner and switch back and forth until reaching the top/bottom of the hill. P1 Bear Crawls up Satan’s Hill while P2 performs 10 Cindy Curls; P1 Lunges down Satan’s Hill while P2 performs 10 Overhead Presses; P1 Broad Jumps up Satan’s Hill while P2 performs 10 Bent Over Rows; P1 Backwards Lunges down Satan’s Hil while P2 performs 10 Skull Crushers.

COP 5: Partner Stations in the parking lot including: Partner Pull Ups on the playground, Curb Dips, Jerkins, Cindy Curls and Runners to the end of the parking lot and back as timers. Time only allowed for each group to hit each station 1 time. Cindys were put away and a sigh of relief for a burpee free workout was let out in which YHC responded with “Lets knock out 5 burpees to end it!”

Numbers, Names and Announcements (Thanksgiving workout led by Mudslide at 6 AM at 45MOM.

Prayers for a quick recovery to Blacktop’s father who is in the hospital.

Always a great pleasure to lead this group of men who push each other every day to be better! Have a great weekend fellas!

  • Dora Day

8 marvelous athletes arrived on a seasonable morning to build that lean muscle mass. I was trying to think of a theme for the workout and I thought it is close to Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving is in honor of the Native Americans and Pilgrims, the Pilgrims were explorers and Dora is an explorer. Therefore, it must be Dora Day.

COP: The usual: DQs, DMH, HRMs, FMs and ACs. Mosey to side of school.

First Dora: 50 – Sit and Press, 100 – Bench Press, 150 – coupon squats, 200 – 2 count flutter kicks. Partner 2 is bear crawling across the side road and up the mini hill and running back down. Mosey to light post.

Second Dora – 50 burpees (the crowd pleaser), 100 – Rows – 2 count, 150 – Curls, 200 – LBCs (no coupon). Partner 2 runs from one lamp post to the next. Mosey to home base.

Third Abbreviated Dora – 50 Overhead presses, 100 Halos (these became challenging). Partner 2 runs from one part of the parking lot to the other. Oh crud we still have a few minutes left. Mosey to wall.

Wall sits, 10 donkey kicks, wall sit, 15 donkey kicks. Finish with coupon American Hammers and stretching.

Ruck this Friday at Tuckahoe Elementary 6:45 p.m. Collecting can goods. See Slack or Lockjaw for details.

It was good to lead and good to talk to Pigskin and Fudd at Coffeeteria at Starbucks. Pray for those in Israel or the Gaza Strip and those suffering from health issues.

    Thanks for letting me lead.

NMS: Some serious mumble chatter this morning, including some mockery and scorn, such that the out of towners were a bit amazed that the Q was able to hold his composure. YHC has learned the skills of composure and distress tolerance among the likes of Handshake and Upchuck.

A great morning, so fun to work out with you guys, welcome Callahan and Stump Jumper!

  • Respect Majority

4 Runners and 2 Ruckers enjoy a cooler Thursday morning in Rutland.

Runners Route – Head down Combs to the Villas at Rutland before turning onto to crestfield. We then took the reverse loop of Rutland but taking the trail cut through to Rutlandshire. Mile two include a loop around the library and PBR before heading over to Kroger. Mile 3 include a loop around Kroger and Rutland Center. Mile 4 varied a little but began with a loop around Rutland townhouses and either finished with a run back up Rtualndshire or a loop around Combs.

Ruckers got their 5 am start and did their thing

YHC was totally outnumbered with Mr. Holland leave a little early for work that left only a crew of Respect PAX and a hate

NMS:  Someone has been enjoying Harder Lemonade at The Forge, and we all suspect Machismo. Mount Warmerama is more than just a warm-up …OOF!  The stench is back, but not nearly as bad as years past. Doublemint shared stories from his glory days – surprise tattoos, STD’s, near-miss pregnancies and maybe paying a chick to pee on his face? Tough to say whether that was a joke or not… Appreciate Mudslide bringing the ShovelFlag since YHC had left it at BWE after the Ruck. Good to have you at the Forge brother! And thanks to Snuff for reminding us of the gift of every breath. Always an immense pleasure and honor to lead the Forge PAX! Yours Truly, DTH

  • Island Hopping

A magnificent nine early risers – including an out of towner descended on the region’s earlier AO.

Over to Kubota’s truck to pick up coupons and mosey to the small triangle park after exchanging the usual insults.

A COP including a special First Watch disclaimer.

Off to Westham Parkway where we stopped in the median and circled up. But what is that in the shadows? An 80# sandbag!

One member of the Pax picks up the sandbag and runs the median island. The others did flutter kicks and bench with their blocks. The bag was passed around as we took turns.

Off to the next median island. Same concept with the sandbag, but this time with curls and squats with the blocks. Off to the next intersection for some ab workout as our intermission.

Back to the islands to make our way home. Block merkins and overhead squat press.

Over to the final island for block swings and triceps.

Back to the AO and a little more Mary.

    Kubota took us out today.

It turns out that our out of town guest was in town for work and in fact works with Kubota’s brother. This was not discovered until the end. Coffee was fine as always! “Low T”

  • Trying out new kind of Merkins

Five showed up today early morning. Pigskin and Blue Moon did things around the School. YHC asked if remaining wanted to spend fun time with Pigskin, they refused. So, we ran around neighborhoods. After some warm up, we started with 20 Merkins and 20 Freddie Mercuries. After that we kept the same 20 Freddies, but changed Merkins at every stop keeping number at 20 to Diamonds, Wide grip, Merkin with right leg off the ground (Scorpion may be?), same left leg up, Spider Monkey (only 15 of those on account of them being harder), Carolina Dry Docks. And the time was up to come back. Overall, ran 3.5 miles. So much fun!

YHC will appreciate any help with the name of Merkin.

Whitesnake: We are registering official complaint about dogs barking in your neighborhood. It was the first time in several years, so we understand, still… we expect a more friendly attitude toward strangers who show up at 5am in the morning.
