  • Plethora of Sweat

Dusty Bottoms, Lucky Day and Ned Needlelander rose early to prune the hedges of many small villages. Humidity was in the forecast. Here is what was rumored to have occurred according to legend of El Juapo.

5.30 struck, short mosey to the Henrico’s smallest park only to find a dewey mist on the meadows. Quick change of plans to the point of the triangle for introductions, disclaimers and warm ups that included Arm Circles, Invisible Jump Rope, SSH, Merkins, LBC’s, Jazzercise and others that YHC has forgotten.

Ventrue down to the Devils taint with a Lindsay along the way at each intersection. Carolina Dry Docks and Flutterkicks were the chosen exercises.

At the warm, humid center of the taint a triple check was called. Dancing Bears and WWII’s performed while timer runs to the 4th No Parking Sign initially, change after round 1 to the 3rd No Parking Sign for the final 2 rounds.

Love Hill back up S. Ridge. Timer runs to Overlook and returns. Bearcrawl, Lunges and Broad Jumps performed by the mobile partner.

Mosey back to the flag stopping at Country Squire and the triangle for 20 merkins and 20 squats each.

BTTF for quick mary of American Hammers, APD’s and LBC’s

  • NTB wishes he bought the road hazard coverage

    Backblast (better late than never?)

Title: NTB should have bought the road hazard coverage

    Date: 2023-06-22

    AO: #ao-forge

    Q: @Greenbow

    PAX: @Don Draper @Dr TryHard @Machismo @NTB @Dealer @Greenbow (did I miss anyone? I swore I had a video of nameorama..)

    FNGs: none

    Count: 5

Moleskine: GQ (Greenbow Q) as it’s not my first but also it hasn’t happened in a while. We sprinted. Maybe too quickly. NTB blew out a tire on the 2nd lap. Was great to get out there the week before I traveled to India

WARMUP: Running approximately .25 miles. Not quite enough to get the youngins’ warmed up, apparently.

THE THANG: Starting with the Q, a pax member calls out an exercise. Sprint to a place. However many finish after that pax, the exercise called x7 is performed. I believe we started with 21 burpees? Also did others as called. (NTB only) Pop a hammy on the 2nd sprint. Mosey down stairs to the top concrete overlooking the field. Prostitute with WW2s, Merkins, dips. Make fun of Huguenot High for having a mascot other than a Hawk. Some more running.

MARY: stretching the hamstrings, Rosalitas, leg lifts, etc

ANNOUNCEMENTS: breaking bread The Bridge – contact Upchuck

    COT: prayers and out.

  • Ruck and Ride

A rucker and 2 riders gathered on the grounds of Atlee High School to enjoy the beautiful with low humidity. One of the riders then noticed that his bike had a flat. That ended his ride. This is what the lone remaining rider and lone rucker did.

    The Route

Rucker – Started at 5 AM and went more than 4 miles.

Rider – Started at 5:30 AM – Went about 9.5 miles through the grounds of Atlee, Honey Meadows, Kings Charter, Totopotomoy, Milestone, and back.

COT – Numberarama, Name-O-Rama, Announcements, YHC took us out.

    NMS

Being cautious because of a quad injury, YHC mentioned last night the idea of doing a ride instead of a run. Mr. Holland said he would join him. When Mr. Holland showed up this morning, he noticed that the tire which was fully inflated last night was flat. YHC then said we will try it again next week. When YHC arrived back at the VSF, only one rucker, No Idea was there. Interesting that we posted at the Anvil Run to have no runners 3 posting there.

    Announcements

Anvil Amateur Bike Ride – Take 2 – Next Tuesday, July 18 at 5:30 AM.

  • Ultimate returns to Heartbreak

8 frisky wanna be Lab Rats descended on the less than stellar football field of Quioccasin Middle for one of YHC’s favorite ways to spend 45 minutes…..Ultimate frisbee. Bodos was nice enough to bring his small orange cones. After setting up the field and some last minute changes back and forth on light vs. dark jerseys we had our 4 vs. 4 and kicked it off. About 5 minutes in Attila showed up to throw off our even numbers, making it 5 vs. 4. The dark shirts stormed to the lead with superior numbers, and after the score reached 5-1 Lighthouse volunteered to abandon the dark side in favor of the light side. Our paler brethren then rallied to come back but were unable to eclipse the dark team’s lead, despite the spittle flying from Handshakes lips as he continued to harangue his teammates whenever they dropped a pass. YHC announced that the last goal scored would win, and Bodos and the other “lighties” quickly stormed down the field to score the “winning” goal.

COT: Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out

Announcements: Honeydo is now calling himself “Horneydo” and has declared that he is back in the dating game! Katie bar the doors and someone better warn the ladies of RVA as it has been a while since this stallion has roamed the pastures looking for mares.

Thanks for coming out today guys! That was a blast. I love playing Ultimate and hope to do this a few more times while we still have the early AM light.

  • For the Love of Fours

Initially 4, then 5, and eventually 6 rolled out to run the roads of the Spiders. No Q on the sheet, not a single 5 or 6 miler in the parking lot, the 4s chose the bridge and off we went. Out 2 miles and back 2 miles. Upon the return Speakeasy had arrived but had bad intel on where to meet and missed the starting block. Enjoyed the run today amigos. -Singer

  • Pickleball at 45MM

    Pickleball at 45MM

YHC greeted eight strong men for the first pickleball at 45MM. Moseyed to the tennis court and did COP as follows: Deadman hang x 10, helicopter x 10, imperial walkers x 10, SSH x 10. Played double and single.

A couple of things to note:

    • Speakeasy played tennis through high school and he quickly picked it up.
    • Given his first time play, Singer played really strongly. He did solid returns and volleys.
    • Fergie and Anthrax played pickleball first time and they seemed to enjoy it a lot.
