  • GratiQ’d

A cold morning to give thanks to the gloom with some throwback tunes.

    45 minute playlist:

SSHs, DQs, Mirkins, LBCs, stretching, etc etc.

4 corners lady of the night with mirkins, American Hammers, jump squats and LBCs.

Triple set of wall sits, balls to the wall and donkey kicks, Pigskin-style.

Indigenous bear crawl around the court.

    11s with mirkins and WW2s.

Basketball court suicides with 5 mirkins. Then another with 10 mirkins.

Circle up for some Mary, 25 mirkins, then 25 more, and then because we were just going for it, 25 more after that.

Thanks for entertaining my playlist – music makes it easy to push harder.

    Peace.

  • Bla-brocode-ck Friday

Five of the best from the far west end met to work off some of yesterday’s overeating. EF Hutton and Pigskin did a walk with 200 merkins (made 10 stops with 20 at each) while Lighthouse, Johnsonville and Whitesnake did the regular brocode route (Pump to Church to Copperass to Ridgefield to Pump). Whitesnake and Lighthouse joined Hutton and Pigskin for the final 40 merkins while Johnsonville ended up 25 pounds lighter after his run.

Pigskin took us out. Good luck to Johnsonville and other on the loops today!

  • An Attempted Coup but Virginia Prevails

Thirty four truth seekers, including one aggressor from Quincy, MA, convened in the dusk for this year’s iteration of alternative history. After a few reminders of where they sold shorts in Virginia off we went.

Quick mosey to Commonwealth. Form two lines for Native American run south towards Cary then veer unexpectedly to the middle of the field.

    COP

    • Don Quixotes
    • Windmills (we call them Helicopters around here)
    • Cherry Pickers (we called them cranberry pickers in the Qs honor)
    • Probably a few other exercises

    The Thang

Mosey to the end of the field for a PAX accurate prediction of 11s. Merkins & WWIIs at each tree. Some may have only done 10, some 12. Either way, great fellowship with your nearby PAX.

Short mosey over to the side of the school for triple check. Peoples chair, LBCs, run to the fence and bernie sanders back.

Even shorter mosey to the west side of the tennis courts. Split up equally to four corners. 10x Lt. Dans / 20x LBCs / 30x SSHs / 40x Jump Squats. Repeat 3 times.

Collect ourselves on the eastern side of the courts for a reminder of what has been created and what is reborn in front of us every day.

Work our way back over to the bus loop, partner up. One runs 3/4 the way around then lunges the rest of the way. The other is doing merkins, LBCs, something else.

Mary for 5 minutes before TYA took us out.

    Moleskin

YHC leaves this backblast here as a token to help memorialize Thanksgiving of 2022. Let us all be thanks for for those around us, our family, friends, co-workers. Regardless of who posted first, this was a Thanksgiving convergence.

  • White Deer’s Detachable Penis

White Deer agreed to lead the 2022 Thanksgiving Kettle Bell “Convergence” as long as I wrote it up. Conversations included bulging and detachable body parts, slow firing neurons, not missing Attila’s gas and Johnsonville reminiscing of the early days of this AO.

Since White Deer thinks Slack is only something he does not give to anyone, I will mostly make up the rest since he will never read this (but he will still tell me I did it wrong).

Warmups included White Deer SSH (moving one leg at a time), arm circles, APDs, DQ and probably something else.

We then did a Beast that included Curls, Overhead presses, Overhead Triceps, Sit and Presses, High Pulls and Squats (not in that order).

Runners then did 2 laps of the circle and walkers walked less.

We ended with 20 reps of Curb Pulls and then Floor Presses and then repeat.

White Deer led us in a round of thanks. I’m thankful for anyone who got his far in my write-up.

  • Turkey Day North of the Wall

2 Davillians burned some calories before the turkey was a 6 am run

Route was a traditional one with a loop around Rutland and the full trail loop in Cool Spring.

Speakeasy ran from and to his house getting im cool to 4. YHC finished with the Bojangles loop getting in 4.25

All life issues were solved during run

    Happy Thanksgiving fellas!

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • We Never Found the Blocks

7 magnificent fellows rolled into F3RVA’s earliest AO to start the day with gusto. Temperatures remained 70 and conditions sunny. According to the bicyclist pumping through the parking lot, the following quite likely happened:

    4:59 “You guys ready?”

    5:00 “Let’s mosey.”

    COP

SSHs, dead man hang, hillbillies, LBCs, hello dolly, Suzanne Summers (both ways), hand release merkins.

Mosey to the handicapped parking…and then to the main parking lot for…

    …a Dora 100-200-300.

    100 hand release merkins

    200 reverse crunches

    300 side-straddle hops

Hook: in between each set, do 5 boo-yah merkins with your partner. Total somewhere around 200 merkins of all types.

Take a couple of moments to do a little bro-ga. Left leg high, right leg high, pigeon pose right and left.

Mosey to the county’s smallest park for a triple check. Run to River Road and back, WWIIs, and squats.

Mosey back to the VSF for one minute of stretching.

Numbers, names, and Lockjaw took us out.

NMS: lots of mumblechatter today. Welcome back to The Whittler, our Kotter for today. Good to have you back out there. Coffeeteria after the workout was excellent, as usual.

    Announcements: See Slack.
This month: do some merkins. Push yourself, don’t hurt yourself. For Heaven’s sake, the contest is with New Jersey.

This week: Learn some lies about Thanksgiving from TYA tomorrow at 6 at 45MOM – Thanksgiving Edition, and run / bike in circles on Friday at 7 at Forest Hill Park.

Next week: wrap up your Christmas Stache for charity on the 3rd at Dogpile.

Month after Next Month: Run a triangle with your pals (November = loops, January = Triangle). If you have not done an F3 CSAUP (or if you have to ask what a CSAUP is), then come out and join F3RVA on January 21 in the tradition of visiting 3 AO’s in one morning by way of your own hard work.

Be on the lookout for a recruiting effort. And, thank you to those helping with Breaking Bread this weekend.

    UpChuck spits the bit.
