  • Non Denominational First Watch

7 First Watch regulars and 1 SOJ traveler woke before most to brave the tepid temps along River Road to see what YHC had in store. According to the 5.30 biker that cuts across the parking lot, this is what was rumored to have or have not occurred.

5.01 hit on Handshakes timer so off we go to the front of the church for disclaimer and warm ups that included DQ’s, Helis, Invisible Jump Rope, Jazzercise, Merkins and a bit of Broga to finish us off.

Mosey to the small side parking lot for 11’s. Donkey Kicks, bear crawl to the opposite side for Merkins. Lunge back.

Mosey to the front of the church for quadruple check. Timer runs to the vans, Australian Mountain Climbers, X Planks, LBC’s.

Mosey down Ridge to the southern end of the park for Burpee Dora that included 100 mountain climbers, 200 merkins, 300 jump squats.

Still time on the clock. Florence selected option A so BTTF for 3 minutes of ab work. Not So Lazy Boys with each Pax performing 10 ab exercises on their own.

    Numbers/Names/Announcements/Prayers. YHC took us out.

Grow your stache for November. Merkin challenge vs. Jersey happening.

NMS: Good to have Florence join up today with an overshare. A bit mumble chatter but it seems the group is on a bit of a dry spell. Maybe the warmer temps and the leaves falling on Splinters trampoline will provide better tales next week. With Kubotas hopeful return, could some Florence Nightingale adventures be forthcoming? Well done fellas. Enjoy the day.

  • Midlo Mountain and then some.

YHC was expecting a crowd at SOT, but only a small band of dudes ventured into the Gloom this morning.

Four runners (Boberry, Draper, Honeymoon, and Tobit) took off and the five remaining began bootcamp (Belichick, Bullseye, Heist, Nancy Lopez, and Wedding Singer)

Warmorama: Mosey to track for a lap. Circle up: SSH, Imperial Walkers (Bullseye said it looked like I was doing hillbillies….true true.) Copper head squat (YHC still cant do cadence right), LBCs, Hello Dollys, Flutter Kicks, Wilson’s wife, Fudd’s wife.

    The thang:

Track Hill: 5 rounds of sprints up small hill near track (where we typically do bear crawl). Jog back around down sidewalk to starting point. Begin each set with 10 reps with called exercises (LBC, Drydocks, Squats, WW2s, and 2x count Flutters). End each set with 10 merkins (aka ‘Muricans). That’s 50 jersey boys.

Paved Hill (near bathrooms): 2 rounds. Each dude runs up hill and back while Pax completes exercises. Return runner calls new exercise. We did all sorts of things: SSH, Freddie Mercury, Mountain Climbers, Toe Taps, Wall sit, Planks, LBCs, jazzercise, Etc.

Mount Midlo: Pax bushwhacked to the start of mount mido. Performed 10 sets of 10 merkins at various intervals running from bottom of mount Midlo back to the flag.

Made it back to flag for a few ab reps. Time ran out.

Running note: Heard they got in 5.5 miles. Nice work.

    Outro: Numbers/Names.

    Prayers:

    1. Continue to pray for Honeymoon’s father and his battle with cancer.
    2. Pray for Boberry’s dad who started an experimental prostate cancer treatment.
    3. Pray for the family of Tobit’s friend. His mother passed away suddenly.
    4. Prayers for all our Pax on IR or fartsacking. Hope to see you all out in the gloom soon.

Good work everyone. See you next time.

  • Old Snake Smell

Seven beautiful men ran to the newish Everleigh 55 and Over apartments to see what my future looks like in 4 years. After a quick warmup of arm circles, Suzanne Somers and helicopters, we then did the Cooper which is 10 burpees, squats and merkins followed by a lap around the Everleigh carpark (~ 200 meters), then 9 of each exercise, 8, 7, etc. down to 1. The lap included certain areas to hold your breath as either we were near some sewer gas outlet, the residents use some area of the carpark as a toilet or there is a Depends recycling bin nearby.

We then ran back to the flag. 3.9 miles total running plus 55 burpees, squats and merkins. Primo was visiting/auditing us from Charlotte and it was great to see Termite back at WTH.

All are welcome at the best AO in Richmond.

  • No Merkins??

YHC pulled up early to WDog only find Swirly had already secured the AO for the 5 that would eventually head out for a Doozy Q. According to the mountain bike mafia this is what happened.

Mosey to the circle for COP

DQ’s, Helicopters, Ukrainian Soldiers, Imperial Walkers, LBC’s, Heals to heaven (with a shooting star)

Mosey to the grassy pit for a Dora

100 LBC’s, 200 Hello Dollies, 300 Squats partner runs the long way down and back

Mosey to the side halfway down for a game of touch a tree. Run across the grassy pit and touch 5 trees but they can not be the first set of trees before the opposite sidewalk. Once you return do 20 WWII’s and go back out to touch 4 trees but they can’t be the same trees, return and do 20 WWII’s. Repeto until you get to 1 tree

Mosey to the corner, Bro Code 4 corners 10 – Jump Squats, 20 – Ball dippers (2 count), 30 – Squats, 40 – calf raises

Mosey BTTF for an ab ring of fire, hold Lazy Boy while each HIM around the circle does 20 of their favorite ab exercise

Numbers / Names Swirly took us out

    NMS:

BT was a little disappointed when I announced that due to YHC’s shoulder injury we would not be doing Merkins, Burpees or anything in the plank position. YHC says a little disappointed because he needed the Merkins for the Merkin challenge but he was happy to not have to do Burpees. He did get some Merkins in by substituting them during the ring of fire and sprinkling them into the workout when possible.

  • An OG start to Stache Month

    No More Gumbo For You

  • The Mount Was Sweaty

Fifteen engaged citizens, most of them concerned about the safety of our headgear, came out to sweat off all the simple sugars consumed last night. Two words were spoken and off we went.

    The Route

    • Mount Henrico

    Announcements

    • Loops on Black Friday
    • Turkey Trot on Tuesday 11/22
    • Reminders on where the Q signup sheet is located

    Moleskin

Everyone was concerned for the health and safety of our fellow PAX members. The wilderness is scary.

  • Emoji Brings the Crowds

Six runners and two ruckers recovered from their Halloweens the F3 way. The assigned challenge was a controlled out and back, going out for 22 minutes to and along Kings Charter Drive, ensuring that the returning run took less than 22 minutes. Spit, Opus, Mr. Holland, and Corned Beek did it the hard way, stopping for 25 pushups each mile. YHC and Hash covered just over 5 miles. Emoji and No Idea rucked for 4.2 miles in some locations and presumably engaged in intellectual discourse at a level only reachable in the gloom.

The details are light in the above because the COT was so focused on catching up with Emoji that there was no time for discussions of distances or routes. It was nice to meet Emoji and see an unusually strong turnout for the Anvil Run. It’s always nice to push myself to keep up with Hash.

The rescheduled happy hour at PBR has been rescheduled again, I think, for Wednesday (tomorrow), a bit later in the evening. Check messenger for details. Opus took us out.

  • Snake Bite

Kicking off November for my first Q at Heartbreak. The rain stayed away but a nice group of 9 did not. We moseyed to the football field and did some warmups of SSH, Rockette Hillbillies (hillbillies with a kick), Freddie Mercury’s, Mercury Freddie’s, Suzanne Somers, Helicopters & Candy Corns (shoulder workout). Then the fun started.

Hit Heartbreak Ridge with a partner. One ran up and down the hill while the other did Burpees at the bottom. Did 51 total per team. Ran back up the hill together and hit the baseball field.

Pax ran the bases while the runner at the end went to the mound to do 5 merkins then went to the front of the line. Did this until all 9 did their merkins. Repeat with the run replaced with a bear crawl–everyone loved that one. Finished with lunges and replaced the 5 merkins with burpees.

Ran back down the hill to the football field and did a quarter pounder (my favorite). 25 merkins at the 25, bernie back to goal line, 51 squats at the 51, bernie back, 75 one count mountain climbers, bernie back and then 100 SSH, bernie back. Repeato (double quarter pounder) with 25 Hand release, 51 WWIIs (groans), 75 lunges. Nixed the 100 smurf jacks for times sake.

Did a lap of a Whitesnake run. Man in the back runs to the front weaving in and out of the pax. A few elbows were thrown but no one got hurt. And somehow 45 minutes were over. Hope I got everyone’s heart rate up to kick start the day.

Great turnout despite the weather warnings the night before. Thanks for letting me host.

  • The Hill Has Eyes

6 Davillians and now regular from Tuckahoe showed up for a hill repeat day.

The Rucker got their early start well sort of. Yard Sale forgot it was Thursday and started rucking at Atlee HS and after 20 mins made it to Rutland to join up with Boo Boo.

Runners heading out of the clubhouse and took the short route to Knollwood. After finishing the lap around Knollwood 3 runners did hill repeat 5x will 2 others continue with a walk/run before the whole PAX headed back tot he clubhouse the longer way getting in just over 4 miles

Welcome to Tonka who fell victim to what as seem to become a little bit of a tradition in DaVille. EH an FNG but don’t show up for their first post. In this case Bulkhead let the fartsack take over.

Good to have Handshake out with us and bring his four legged friend

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • DaVille DOC

It has been awhile since YHC has busted out the F3 workout Deck of Cards (DOC) and we had a trickle of brothers show up this morning, we started with 3 then 4 rolled in with the 5th man posting during the COP, so we had 5 total for this beatdown. Here is what went down:

    COP

We mosey to the North end of the Parking lot opposite the flag circle up and started with 20 SSH, 10 DQ, 15 Imperial Walkers, 14 Arm Circles 10 small, 4 Big, Reverso with 15 reps, 10 small and 5 big. 20 American Hammers, 20 4ct LBC’s, 10 scorpions and 20 merkins.

    THANG

So with 5 we drew 3 cards for Exercise rotation. The cards drawn were Shoulder Taps, WOJO Squats, High slow flutter kick. the 2 remaining men ran to the 3rd island and back as the timer, 1 man peeled off when returned to start Shoulder Taps, ST to WOJO Squats, WS to High Slow Flutter kick then HPSK to run with timer. We all rotate until we complete a set and do this 2 more times for a triple check. This makes everyone run 2 x’s as the timer for each set.

WE repeat the above with 3 new cards and Lunge instead of Running then go to Squat, then Dip then Arm circles. With a minute left we mosey back to flag.

    COT

Numberama, Namerama, Opus took us out in prayer.

We have the merkin challenge beginning tomorrow November 1, 2022. This will be fun as we are challenging NJ (Carpenter’s New locale)…so sign up!

Look for update on HDHH for Wednesday/Thursday tomorrow after we poll on who may be able to make it on either day…most replies wins choice!

It was an honor to lead this morning gents, have a great week.

    Cheers….CB
