  • Ask Singer What Day It Is

Fifteen pounders and peddlers congregated before and after today’s main event. Singer interrupted the instructions to tell a story about what today means to him before allowing YHC to continue. Instructions were simple, and unless mother nature made you detour, the routes were followed.

    Routes

    • Berkshire to Sulgrave to Caterbury before exiting to go north on Malvern
    • Right on Grove
    • 4s left on Hamilton

    Moleskin

Mary is dark these days. I put the over/under at 311.5 days until the light in the parking lot gets fixed. Regardless, we know each other well enough to identify each other by our shadows.

Route itself was flat today, exactly what YHC needed to feel good about a run. Thanks for the 6s for sticking with me, most of the time.

Apparently post Mary has turned into somewhat of a Broga session. I’m not sure who led the charge, but 6 or 7 finished the run up with some stretching. Conversation was light and jovial until Saab started stretching Swirly out. That thinned the crowd out real quick. PSA: You can likely find some new athletic shorts on back to school sale this weekend.

    Enjoy the day fellas.

    NMMS :

Proverbs 11:2-4 NIV : “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom. The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity. Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.”

  • “Has left the chat”

5 Satan’s Hill faithful shrugged off the warm confines of the fartsack to see what trouble they could stir up at SH. After a boisterous chat the night prior the numbers looked at bit hire. A bad day at work and someone leaving the chat resulted in a party of 5.

COP 20 each: SSH, LBC. 10 each: DQ’s, helicopters, imperial walkers, Ukrainian soldiers, CHS, Merkins, Hello Dollie, Flutters.

The Thang: Mosey to top of hill. The 3/4 mile four corners. With progressive exercises. First round 25 merkins, 50 LBC’s, 75 Squats, 100 SSH. Also did a wildcard down one of the cul-de-sac’s of 10 burpees. 2nd round (Round was not going to be progressive but PAX begged for it be) PAX choice. 25 Drydocks, 50 Jump squats, 75 Mountain climbers, 100 WWII. • McRib is Back

8 young men from South of the river met up this morning and according to the wildlife around the AO this is what went down in the gloom of Timberwolf. A little car advice from Kelly to start the morning before the seconds ticked down to 0530. Mosey into the parking lot but circle back for the LIFO – McRib. I heard that he made it out to SOT and extended an invite to a Rosie Q at Timberwolf that he didn’t want to miss. A standard warmup fare today, no Chumbawumba or slaughter starter.

Mosey to the bus loop for DORA – 100 merkins, 200 squats, 300 2-ct Freddie Mercuries. The owl in the woods called us out as we started a new version of lightpole alley. Doozy tried to answer but was ignored. Each PAX calls an exercise at a lightpole. Various ways of travel between poles, mostly lunges. At this point we headed to the tennis courts for what seemed to be a 4 corners but Wilson complimented the Q on the non-running lightpole alley. The Q does not respond well to compliments so we went to the track instead.

No time for the full Lucky Horseshoe today but an intro to the exercises with a warning that it could come back. 20 Merkins, 20 Squat Walkers, 20 Scorpion Dry Docks, 20 WWII, 20 Lunges (each leg) – run a lap. Bats dive bombing Nancy Lopez or maybe he was just seeing things. Another lap with a Lucky Horseshoe exercise at each corner and lunges to finish the lap. Mary to fill the last few minutes.

Great to see McRib back in action and a strong group at Timberwolf. Lots of lunges today, I know I will feel that tomorrow. Lots of counting in the Lucky Horseshoe so minimal mumble chatter, or just wait for other people to finish and move on to the next one.

    • Labor Day Convergence at Dogpile – 7am
    • Some confusion about the 8 year F3RVA anniversary in September. Someone feel free to chime in and clear it up.
    • Murph tomorrow at Twin Team
    • F3 RVA leadership is starting to take form, lots of opportunities to help.

  • I hate you

Tough to say how many precisely posted for the latest edition of The Roller Coaster. Temperatures were definitely sunny and 70. According to the good-looking, married, 50-somethings who stare just a little bit too long, the following might have happened.

Routes: Hillcrest. Variations: Small, Medium, and Large (No XLs today).

YHC did 2 small, 1 medium, and 1 large with a mix of accompanying PAX members.

NMS: Always great to catch up with the guys at this AO. With the exception of the top of Chairman and Pocohauntas, it’s all hills. YHC was happy to have HoneyDo join for a Large loop. HoneyDo was less happy at the route, but persevered. Well done.

    Way to push, fellas.

    Announcements: BRR 2 weeks away.

Let YHC know if I missed anyone.

  • Naked Mile Part Deux Filming?

9 Ryan Reynolds doppelgangers met for the casting call for 2023 summer blockbuster that has yet to be named. According to the top notch security and catering crews this is what occurred.

Regular parking location was coned off by Snuff last night so we relocated to a lower deck that seemed adequate. Quick mosey to the front of the school to warm up with Invisible Jump Rope, DQ’s, Imperial Walkers, Freddies, APD and some Dead Man Hang. Warm…. lets head to the turf.

RED BARCHETTA: Short Mosey past the amphitheater and thru Snuff’s Gate to the plush turf fields. Red Barchetta was the call. 100 yard sprint followed by 100 merkins (1st one completed calls out). Slowsy back to the starting point. 75 yard sprint – 75 squats with a slowsy back. 50 yard spring, 50 World War II’s, slowsy back. 26 yard sprint – 26 lunges (single count), slowsy back. 10 yard bear crawl, 10 burpees OYO.

DORA: Move up to the open space behind the bleachers. Partner up for a DORA- 100 Carolina Dry Docks, 200 Monkey Humpers, 300 LBCs. Timer runs the bleacher loop.

CATCH ME IF YOU CAN: Mosey back thru Snuffs Gate and partner up. Bernie up the road to Forest Hill until overtaken by partner who performed 1 LT. Dan and sprinted to catch.

POLE WORK: Heading back to the flag, stop at every pole along Forest Hill alternating between 1 burpee and 2 LT. Dan.

Numbers, Names, Announcements. Draper took us out.

Announcements: Florence is leading the Labor Day Convergence at Dog Pile Monday Sept. 5th at 7 am. Coffee after. Prayers for Dealer and his family in preparation for the upcoming arrival of their son. Good luck to House Party with starting a new job. Prayers for those out injured or not able to join us today. Hopefully they are back on their feet and into the gloom soon.

NMS: YHC noticed a good amount of activity at Huguenot during a predawn scouting mission. Seems they are using Thompson or the high school for filming of “Swagger” and not the 4th American Pie sequel as YHC had hoped. Seems the turf fields have much to offer as the gate seems to remain open if we respectfully keep it closed after use. Humidity seems to have crept back in but still a good morning to welcome back Dealer and Sundance, who is now becoming a regular. Great work men, enjoy the day.

  • New Coupons = New Pain

Deposit blocks back and head to the Shovel Flag for:

Numbers, Names, Announcements and Flo took us out!

    NMS:

Solid crew this morning even with several regulars travelling, injured or fart sacking. The new blocks seem to be a hit, thanks to Last Call. YHC wasn’t planning on running much this morning only to see 2.4 miles on the Garmin when it was all said and done.

Prayers for Ronnie as he recovers from surgery on his elbow. No more elbow planking for him!

Thanks for taking us out this morning, Flo, and well said!

8 for coffee afterwards at Starbucks, where it’s easy to spend another hour hanging out with brothers!

Enjoy the day, men, and SYITG!

  • Neighborhood watch

The WTH trio hit the neighborhood and ended up running 3.6 miles and doing 30 burpees, 130 hand release merkins and 230 (2 count) flutter kicks. As simple and fun as that.
