  • Don Quixo-toll

10 Men of La Mancha gathered in the gloom to tilt at windmills and attempt a new record for Don Quixotes. They thought YHC was joking.

Mosey to the back lot making sure to NOT pay the toll. Warmups: arm circles and dead man’s hang. Line up on the curb and proceed to Don Quixote broad jump across the entire lot. At the other side, 25 more Don Quixotes.

Mosey to the field where 2 lines of 5 men each, in tight formation, bear crawl to the opposite end. From there, a walking lunging arc ending up right back at the beginning. A giant D in the dew. What could it possible stand for?

Mosey further down the field and proceed to walk again in tight formation in a giant circle, arm raises the entire time. Then from the corner of the circle, some other exercise. An enormous D.Q. in the wet grass – as seen from outer space.

Mosey to the pavilion to find a lone Sancho Panza, sitting on the bench, pondering the fields. What was he thinking, watching the PAX do their Dora, timers running the field and back for 50 Don Quixotes, 100 LBCs and 150 plankjacks?

Mosey back to the lot for some 50%/75%/100% sprints interspersed with slow-toll mirkins, mirkins and more Don Quixotes.

Mosey over for a short Post-toll with 25 flutterkicks, 25 jump squats, 25 heels to heaven and 50 ball dippers.

Heading back to the flag going Low-toll under the bar. At the bridge we do NOT pay the toll. From the bridge, a low-toll duck walk back to the flag where we finished with 5 back-breaking… you guessed it… Don Quixotes.

A chivalrous COT and great mumble chatter to start the day.

Shoutout to the PAX for indulging the insanity of a wandering knight, lost in the wilds of his own head.

    Peace.

  • Back for the Broga

A trio of Brogii veterans persevered thru the storms for the pre No Toll Broga session on the hard courts of Huguenot Park. Legs, hips, shoulders and a little back were the focus areas this morning followed by the always popular shavasana. Good to have Shiplap back from vacation and into the final stretch of his upcoming 2.0 arrival. Good luck boys and always fun to stretch it out.

    MOLESKIN

Apparently, Marv correctly predicted that YHC’s route would involve crossing Patterson.  YHC’s only real habit is to never call Grove or the Bridge but will try and be a little less predictable next time.  No real inspiration but when plotting out the route, the small and medium routes looked like a chicken leg, so there you have it.  The 6’s looked like a leftover chunk of something got stuck to the leg in the fryer.  You never know what a pre-run conversation might entail, today’s included stubbed toes, spider bites, and the little elementary school library tables and chairs.  Thanks to Marv for taking us out with an interesting perspective to say the least.

    NMS:

It was great to be back in the saddle, Q’ing a workout in RVA once again. Oyster pointed out that YHC’s watch is slow…..maybe that’s a legacy from Colorado mountain time. Noted Oyster…..we’ll get started on time at my next Q! It was interesting to see how the intervals between dudes in the tunnel of love magically got significantly wider once the ending point was revealed as the second fire hydrant. Also noted for the future.

YHC appreciates the showing today for his 1st RVA Q in a long time. It was great seeing some of the same faces that have accompanied my F3 journey through the years. YHC started with F3RVA in early Oct. of 2014 and it’s pretty incredible to think about how far this group has come in the last (almost) 8 years. Countless lives have been changed and the ripple effects from the men we have affected for the better continue to extend out and touch places and people that we may never see or know. I love the fact that we change men’s lives for the better. When you change one man’s outlook…..when you change his attitude, his countenance, his confidence……. you change the lives of everyone he loves, everyone he interacts with, everyone that shares even a small portion of his time on this earth. I’m addicted to the belief that we change the world a little bit every day…… in ways that many of us will never truly know.

Thanks for coming out to support my return fellas. Stay on the lookout for men that could benefit from this life. Have the courage to ask them to join us.

And never stop chasing the wabbit!

  • June – Murph

    6 for the Murph

Mossy around the school and the track for a mile to get to the main playground.

10 rounds of the below with each round consisting of the following exercises.

    • 10 pullups
    • 20 Merkins
    • 30 squats

After we completed the 10 rounds we headed back to the parking lot.  Total millage equaled 2 miles with a nice little beat-down in the middle.

  • Bus Tour at Daville

YHC was pumped to see that a bunch of cars were in the lot this morning for a Monday beatdown; however, a large bus was parked there and people were dropping the kids off for a summer trip. Flag was planted and 2 more showed up for a beatdown and here is what happened:

    COP

We mosey to the bus loop and form up on the West Entrance side of Atlee High School for 25 SSH, 10 DQ’s, 15 Helicopters, 15 Imperial Walkers, 10 Ukrainian Soldiers, 10 4ct Emoji LBC’s, 15 4 ct American Hammers, 10 Reverse Scorpions, 10 scorpions and 20 merkins.

    THANG

With 3 in the PAX and a bus loop it is natural to go to a triple check. P1- runs the loop as the timer, P2 – Indian Squat to calf raise (Nice Yoga ‘sun salutation’ Move benefit here), and P3 – LBC’s. We rotate through to complete on set and perform 2 more sets for a triple check.

We then mosey to the tennis court for 4 corners, Corner 1(C1) – 10 merkins, C2 – 20 Lunges each leg, C3 – 30 – Indian Squat, C4 – 40 LBC’s. This completes one set, we have time to perform 1 more set before we head to the flag to stretch for 2 minutes.

    COT

Numberama, Namerama – YHC took us out in prayer.

Announcements – Bulkhead is looking to host breakfast at his house after DaPile workout Saturday, July 16, 2022. Details to follow.
