    MOLESKIN

Make it hard and the PAX will like it, YHC repeated to himself while cursing the trek up Horsepen.  The directions seemed complex, but it was really just a loop, perhaps the delivery needs work.  Post run mumblechatter focused on the neutrality and general likeability of JMU compared to UVA.  Apparently Dentists have HGTV on in their waiting rooms because it is the most neutral and calming channel on TV.  Nonsense, paint colors get YHC fired up just in time to get poked and prodded and further annoyed.  And HGTV has turned many a neighbor to foe.

  • You are

Heartbreak Ridge: Handshake pulled up. That’s our signal it’s time to begin. I asked “Who’s the Q?” Offshore: “You are!” I write on the calendar when I sign up for Q. Unfortunately, when you are retired, you don’t always remember to look at your calendar. Fortunately, Offshore pays attention to details like who’s the Q.

  • Cold air, clear trails, can’t lose!

A trio of varsity ballers gathered in the Pump House parking lot to conquer the cold. Heres how they did it:

North Bank to T Pott to Buttermilk to Nickel Bridge.

Beautiful sunrise, great 2d F and no ice on the trails, and YHC timed his coffee intake/dump output perfectly … what more could you ask for?

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

Make it a great one, gents.

  • And done

    • 4 walked 3.3 miles others ran much farther.
  • BC for Nancy Lopez WOR

YHC was pumped to host the Pre-run and with last night’s cold soaker expected 1-2 to possibly join for a nice mosey to the Dogpile Monthly Convergence AO from Early Bird Biscuit Company. Roll up to see Upchuck and Double Mint stretching…nice no solo run today and then Hitchhiker rolls in with Handshake following and what?…Hardywood rolls in for this pre-bootcamp mosey! So we are ready to roll and run straight on S Robinson street across bridge and take a right to run around boat lake and stay on Boat lake drive until Westover then to Swan lake drive around Swan lake to lake road to Shields lake drive and around shields lake to left on Shirley lane. We cross Park Drive to the AO for exactly 2 miles. We averaged a 9 minute mile with 9.13 for 1st mile and an 8’50” 2nd mile pace…great warm up run.

For the trip back after our Nancy Lopez WOR beatdown we did a straight shot on Spottswood drive to South Robinson street to our parked cars for a 1.02 mile run for a 9’24” pace, as we walked and sprinted some during the last quarter mile.

Numberama and Namerama YHC said a prayer for childhood friend Chris Ash who lost everything in a forest fire in Boulder, Colorado. He was able to escape with his family of four and four pets that they rescued in their car.

Great run and mumblechatter this morning. It was an honor to lead the route and have a great weekend everyone. Cheers….CB!

  • Rogue Run Day

4 Davillians skip Dogpile this morning to keep up with their 1/2 marathon training.

We meet at Honey Meadow clubhouse and started the run into Kings Charter then headed down Ivy Banks rd into several other neighborhoods before running the loop in Kingswood Court.

Headed back to Kings Charter. Marco Polo and YHC ran down King Charter Rd then looped back at the 5 mile marker then pushed the pace for the last 1.5 miles.

Mr Holland and Opus came directly back to Honey Meadows and did a loop around the schools before finishing with a short walk back to the clubhouse.

Total miles today – YHC a little over 6.5 miles; Opus/Mr Holland – 7ish; Marco Polo started early and ran from his house then back to get in almost 12 miles.

Nice morning for a run, not bad temp and no wind.

    Spit On That!!
