  • MCF morning at Hoedown

13 Hoedown regulars and 1 out of towner from Raleigh found it easier to take on the Gloom with the time change. Majority of PAX were there 5 minutes early, even Handshake arrive at 5:25. With a call for 10 pre-beatdown merkins we took off to 3rd’s lot for COP:

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks. Mosey to office building for 4 corners: Accumulating style: 10 WWIIS, 20 Merkins, 30 Jump squats, 40 LBCs. Over to Coupon drop zone. Triple check of Scissor Sisters & run the loop. 20 Merkins after.

Mosey down to Triple check loop for proper one: Balls2Wall, Heels2heaven, & run loop. Once the lights were on in the parking lot head over for Bear-arrow loop. Bear crawl arrows loop with 8 merkins at each arrow. 88 in total.

Over to flag for few minutes of mary + 40 more merkins getting us to 238 count for the morning. COT and YHC took us out.

NMS: Several pax were anxious to see what the Honedyo Q would look like. Kubota wasn’t there to find out. Good to have Burt join us from F3 Raleigh. He’d never seen Scorpion Kicks before but afterwards said it was a keeper to take back to Raleigh. Good to have 14 out at Hoedown!

  • We’re Going to Orlando

8 male, 2-footed runners joined one somewhat standoffish 4-footed female for a saunter around the trails. According to Gopi, who is prepping for the Richmond Marathon, here is more or less what happened:

    Route:

Buttermilk, T. Pottersfield Bridge, North Bank, except that some runners did the Long Way around Belle Isle and some runners did out and back 20 minutes each way.

Numbers, Names, YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

TYA has a race set up at 07:00 on the day after Thanksgiving. 4 mile loop every hour. Start a new loop every hour until you cannot or do not want to continue. Anthrax and Swiper are ready to challenge for the title of Incredibly Fit Man with the Least to Do on the Day after Thanksgiving.

Offshore is looking for chaperones for a last minute trip to an engineering conference in Florida this week. Reach out to him if you speak technical Spanish.

NMS: Cooler temps and somehow a slog around the trails. YHC thanks Gopi (dude YHC met running today) for the solid push. Good luck on the Marathon.

    ETs was excellent as always.

Numberrama, Namerama, Announcements, YHC took us out

    MOLESKIN

It felt good to finally be back out at bootcamp workout. YHC didnt post the whole month of October first due to an ear/sinus infection then to many late nights watching playoff. Also great to have Carpenter back down from NJ for weekend. YHC couldn’t allow him not the lead in SSH while visiting

The PAX seemed to have the mumble chatter turned up to 11 which not suprising considering the fellas in attendance

For some reason the Native American run turned into how fast we could get to the end.

As YHC shared this morning, I couldn’t be more thankful for this group. This past month has been rough one and one of the things that made it easier was haven’t fellas from F3 reach out and check on me. This a great remember that we should all think about someone we haven’t seen in while then reach out to make sure they are ok. Showing someone you care can go a long way

No announcements today other than Happy Birthday EF Hutton!!

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Bush/ Quayle ’88

Three gloom brothers ran the miles to earn their wokest of biscuits. One gloom bro skipped the miles and went straight to the payoff. Handshake pondered the EB staff’s reactions if he showed up in a Bush Quayle ’88 t-shirt with concealed carry. Jokes on him, the staff has no idea who they are.

  • GridIron Log – 10/23/2021

A PAX of eight posted for this late October GridIron. Quick circle around the concession stand followed by a warmup in the parking lot with a line up of the usual. Mosey to the turf field for Super 21 with Merkins and WWIIs. Follow with a Quadruple Check. Relocate to the nearby parking lot for parking space conveyor. Mosey back to the Pull Up bars for a few round robin rounds with one guy pulling and holding and the remaining guys holding plank. Final circle with a little Mary. COP to finish.

  • Always IC

A talented SOJ duo descended down Robious to find a dark and frosty Betty Weaver. YHC was expecting a solo Q until Rosie headlights arrived on the horizon. According the surprisingly bountiful amount of walkers around James River, this is what supposedly occurred in the gloom.

Short mosey down to James River High School track for quick warm up of Don Quixotes and something else.

    THE THANG

    4 corners around the track – 10 merkins, 20 WWII’s, 30 Squats, 40 LBC’s

Quick inspection of the frosty field. YHC decided to stay dry and keep on the track for a Beast. Up and back stopping 3 times each for the following exercises in sets of 6 – Mountain Climbers, Merkins, Monkey Humpers, Flutter Kicks, Imperial Squat Walkers and Burpees in some order.

Wosey out of the stadium and to the backside of Bettie Weaver. Indigenous Wall Crawl. 1 person Lunged across asphalt court, Bernie Sanders back while other person stayed on the wall rotating between Peoples Chair and Balls to the Wall. Leapfrog each other with windows.

Mosey back to the flag for quick mary of LBC’s and APD’s.

Numbers Names Announcements, YHC took us out.

Announcements: Happy healing to Doozy with his knee. Good luck to Fresh Prince and his M with the upcoming arrival of his daughter.

NMS: Cold morning had YHC expecting a solo Q with Doozy out on IR. Fortunately Rosie arrived to keep YHC from returning the warmth of the car and ultimately the fart sack. Great conversation always comes out of these low number workouts. Good to learn more of the history of this AO and get motivated for the weekend. All exercises were performed “In Conversation” and welcome to avoid the sometimes off timing of the Cadence. Great spending time in the gloom with you Rosie. Good luck on your travels this weekend.

  • Anybody motivated to run?

3 PAX came out to Currahee in the first day of below freezing temps of the season. YHC took the Q with a lead from behind directions style. Route: Left down Pump, turn L on Falconbridge and over to Deep Run, around lake and back via Ridgefield. 3 min of stretching and then COT.

NMS: YHC pulled in first at 5:26 and wondered whether this would be a cold Solo run. Luckily Handshake and Gypsy pulled in to make the gloom tolerable.
