  • Fat Busters Ride the Snake!

The choking predawn jungle humidity of WaThoHuk cloaked four Jimmy Tango acolytes with shaking beads of sweat as the PAX embarked on another Meth-fueled journey to Bust the Fat for good. See video for context…

    • PIGSKIN took the PAX out in Prayer

NMS:  A mighty fine war party of WaThoHuk warriors bit the head off the snake today. HOW FUNNY is that old SNL skit! Anyway, YHC enjoyed wonderful conversation and camaraderie with Snuff on our journey to and from the Far North. And Pigskin gets TRIPLE RESPECT in my humble opinion. That man is a beast! Thx for letting me lead ya’ll. Peace, DTH

  • Starbucks and Swingers

A quintet of early risers descended upon the River Road Baptist Church parking lot to see what YHC had in store. No rain, but the dewy thickness of August was certainly present. 5 am sharp and no lights needed, lets begin:

Mosey to church patio for warmarama that included the following: Dead Man Hang, DQ’s, Helicopters, Plank Jacks, Heels to Heaven and the ever popular Scorpion Kicks (still not sure what this accomplishes). Everyone seemed warm, lets move.

    THE THANG:

Mosey to church parking lot for 7 of Diamonds. 4 corners of the parking lot with the following exercises at each corner. FRB (Front/Fast Running Bastard) picks the resting exercise until the arrival of the six. Exercises included 7 Hand Release Merkins, 14 2 count Ball Dippers, 21 World War II’s, 28 Monkey Humpers (for those regulars on vacation), 21 American Hammers (2 count), 14 Carolina Dry Docks, 7 Burpees (by popular demand).

Mosey across River Road to small parking lot to collect coupons. TABATA time. 45 seconds of exercise 15 seconds of rest. 4 rounds of each exercise then run a lap. Exercises included Chest Press w/coupon (run a lap), Block Pulls w/ coupon (run a lap), Alabama Softball Players (thank you Honeydo for the rename) – return coupons then run a lap. BTTF.

Numbers, Names, Announcements. YHC took us out. Upchuck and Oyster headed off for coffee afterwards.

Lot going on in September. See slack for details. Prayers for Upchuck as he travels to the Northwest for family vaca. Prayers to those in Afghanistan. Thank you gentlemen for the opportunity to lead. This is a great group of guys that always brings joy to my day.

NMS: Good to Oyster as he continues on the summer tour. 2 stops left – crushing it. Not much mumble chatter outside of some complaints on the modify selections by some of the PAX. Burpees should not be considered a resting exercise. TABATA with coupons was more difficult than imagined. YHC will rethink of more social exercises in the future. Title comes from the text chatter as many of the regulars are on vaca this week. New Starbucks coming to River Road Shopping center. Seems Handshake and his M have found F3 and Fia neighbors at the beach.

  • F3 Movie Night 9/3 or 9/4?

Shang Chi, the new Marvel movie, debuts over Labor Day Weekend. YHC is trying to get a group together for some 2nd F to see it but wanted to get input first on location, day and time. YHC’s thought on location is CMX CinéBistro at Stony Point (9200 Stony Point Pkwy Suite 101, Richmond, VA 23235). This location is very central within the F3RVA footprint so it seems optimal but YHC is open to suggestions? The one problem with CMX CinéBistro is we’d have to wait until 1 week before the date to purchase tickets, whereas other movie theaters around Richmond already have specific showtimes for Shang Chi that you can already purchase tickets for now. Lastly, what day and time do PAX prefer? Fri 9/3 at 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm? Or Sat 9/4 at 6 pm, 7 pm, 8 pm? Leave a comment here or on Slack.

  • Moist Rocks

Seven runners, 2 by road, 5 by dirt, grinded out 7-10 miles on a glorious 70 and sunny morning. Trails were great despite the previous days’ weather. ET’s followed with discussions of BRR and the PAX’s favorite movies. Saab and TYA can’t recommend the movie The Lobster enough.

  • Too humid and rainy for paid workouts

4 fearless faithful found a completely empty AO to play with by ourselves. So we did:

COP: SSH, Imperial Walkers, Don Qs, Flutterkicks, Reverse Crunches, Merkins.

Over to PES lot for Dora 123: 100 Merkins, 200 Donkey Kicks, 300 Jump Squats (audible to 100 for time). Over to PES playground: 5 rounds of 6 Pullups & 10 Squats. 3 sets of 25 PLTs.

Down to Jerkin Gym: 4 rounds of 8 Jerkins. 40 Reverse Crunches. Across field then round of Donkey-Ups. Up to blacktop for rounds across including: lunges, Bear Crawls, and Crab walk. Back to flag and some mary to close out.

NMS: Light crowd this AM with Gypsy in quarantine, Handshake mia, and others on vacation. 4 who posted got after it. YHC tried to keep the PAX dry but drainage on the HBR fields is non-existent. The pay2play group was a no-show this morning, either too rainy or messy. They don’t know what they are missing as the bog down by the Jerkin Gym is always welcoming.

  • Ab-solutly fantastic!!!

6 Abs of steel veterans showed up to No Toll to see what Jane Fonda had in store for them only to find Doozy with the Q.

COP mosey to the Tennis courts, PAX saw a car rolling up on our way out so once the circle was formed and a body was spotted running to the parking lot a few yells where made and Florence joined in.

DQ’s, Helicopters, Arm Pretzels, Weed Pickers, Imperial Walkers, Merkins

    Mosey to the parking lot

Regular 4 corners (10) LBCs, (20) American Hammers, (30) Scrunchy Frogs, (40) Sugar Sticks

    Mosey to the pavilion

Triple check – Partner 1 does bench crunches, partner 2 does knee slides, partner 3 runs across both fields (or one field twice)

Mosey back to the parking lot

Prostitute 4 corners same exercises as before but reverse the corners (10) Sugar Sticks, (20) Scrunchy Frogs, (30) American Hammers, (40) LBCs

Mosey to the basketball court Bear crawl suicides with a LBC at each line and increasing by 1 crawl bear back to baseline until times up (per Doozy’s watch)

BTTF – Numbers / Names DTH took us out

    NMS:

As summer starts to wind down YHC decided to make it as much an Ab day as possible so the PAX can finish the beach body season strong. YHC finally broke down and bought a shovel and used an old flag that has been waiting to see the light of day again, YHC will be adding stickers from other regions that he visits.

Great to have Neutral’s 2.0 join us this morning.  The first one is the hardest.  YHC never wants to cause a splash of Merlot, but it is a little satisfying when the old dudes can show the young dudes what they can do.  Gomer Pyle was fired up doing his best Andrew Dice Clay impressions and UpChuck had a really good story about his lawyer this morning.  Perhaps he’ll tell it again at the next Puppy Pile.
