    • YHC took the PAX out in Prayer

NMS: Cooler temps and YHC departing for a week of vaca today meant a ground and pound routine was needed – and nothing does this better than the F3 Deck in the Amphitheater. The PAX approved of the variety and challenge the cards provided, and Gigabite did a phenomenal job putting in the work. In fact the young man paid tribute to the deck by spilling merlot, but respectfully completed AFTER our intimate little COT ball of man. YHC has really enjoyed the Summer Tour getting back out to all the AO’s. Appreciate ya’ll letting me take the lead today. SYITG, YHC, Tryhard

  • Glenbrooke Circle Walk-About

Seven strong hit the streets around the AO of First Watch this early morning with a goal of stretching out the legs again, similar to Last Call’s Q last week. After Handshake steamrolled into the parking lot. This is what went down:

Mosey over to the front church patio for:

Stop at Summit and partner up for Catch Me if you Can. One partner Bernie Sanders up Summit while other partner performs 3 Burpees and then catch your partner. Switch up a few times until you reach the summit of Summit.

Mosey back down and stop several times on the way back to the AO to perform several exercises including APD’s, Rosalita’s, Reverse Crunches, LBC’s and Flutter Kicks.

Merkin Ring of Fire at the VSF with each pax picking a different style of merkin and perform 10 OYO while other pax planks.

Numbers, Names, Announcements and YHC took us out!

Announcements: HDHH/Hill Run at Honeydo’s house next Wednesday. Handshake wants to know if Honeydo will post again before that….

    NMS:

Nice cooler temperatures this morning made for a nice little jaunt out to Glenbrooke Hills and back. YHC really enjoyed(hated) Last Call’s traveling Q last week, so why not do it again in a different direction. Opening things up and stretching the legs is greatly needed for YHC these days. The FW Pax has hit pretty much every neighborhood surrounding the AO except for this one, so YHC felt like it was time to check it out. It’s definitely headlamp season at FW now and is only going to get darker at 0500! Splinter was not able to get any foreplay from Handshake since he was late. Coffeeteria for Splinter, Lockjaw, EF Hutton and Upchuck(?) afterwards.

    Enjoy the day, men!

  • FNG Bees to the Ultimate Honey

Heartbreak hosted the last Ultimate Frisbee for the season, landing two awesome FNG’s into our brotherhood.

The morning started with Chaplain joining YHC for the ride up from SOJ, rolling up to QMS in time to witness some tension between Pinto and the new workout crew’s boss lady telling him to move his car out of “their” planned workout area. YHC was also asked to move…and YHC suggested they put their cones out earlier to avoid this little misunderstanding in future…

With a mash-up of vets and FNG’s from all over, YHC led the PAX in a little moseyrama around the field and a brief COP for warming up and stretching the necessities.

Rules were explained, teams divided into uneven numbers (6v7) based on dark(er) and light(er) shirts, and PULL! the game started. It was initially gloomy enough to make visualizing teammates challenging, but the neon frisbee at least stuck out.

The Light 6-man Team kept the lead initially, but then the Dark 7-man team finally pulled past at the 4-4 mark, ultimately winning 7-4.  Everyone did a great job avoiding injuries, and YHC was definitely soaked with sweat by the end in spite of cooler temps this AM.

With 2 minutes to spare, game was called, cones gathered, and the PAX circled up for a quick fire Ring of Fire and a little stretching.

Numbers / Names YHC took us out

    NMS:

YHC highly recommends that if you are not already on the National Slack channel, get connected. There is a lot of Mumblechatter but its a great way to hear how things are going in other states and YHC was able to find out some great intel on the AO’s that we where visiting before we made the 40 minute drive at 4:15 in the morning.

  • Cool Chamber

YHC was notified that a clown car was coming up with Tryhard and Chaplain this morning, so seeing the Q slot was open jumped on this to make sure they had a proper ANVIL experience. So here is what went down for 5 F3RVA brothers:

    COP

We mosey to the basketball lot and circle up for 20 SSH,10 DQ, 10 Russian Soldiers, 10 Imperial Walkers, 20 4ct American Hammers, 20 LBC’s, 15 scorpions, 20 merkins. We are ready to go!

    THANG

So we mosey to the Chamber, this is the interior quad of the main school building. Also where the A/C units exhaust, has plenty of sidewalks for various exercises and usually brutally hot this time of year. With the cool temps @ 66 degrees, the units were not running and the chamber was actually pleasant for a Dora of 100 bench dips, 200 alternating lunges and 30 LBC’s. We had a group of 2 and 3. P1-ran a lap around the quad as the timer, P2 performed the exercise and we switched for every lap.

We then mosey to hill on West side of building for 11’s. At the bottom of the hill started with 1 Donkey Kick, then Bernie Saunders to the top of the hill for 10 WW2 sit ups. Back to the bottom for 2 DK’s then Bernie Saunders to the top for 9 WW2 SU. We continued until we got to 10 DK and 1 WW2 SU.

We then moesy to the side parking lot for Suicide where we lunge to the first line run back, then run the remaining lines to the opposite side. We then continue back down to the fist line and lunge back to wrap up this routine.

We then Mosey to the drain bed near the school sign and pick up a rock for an Anvil Favorite (shout out to Yardsale and Chewy) the Boat – Canoe. So in a Ring of Fire fashion and Counter clockwise each member calls out either Boat or canoe to change the position holding the boulder the entire time. This proved to be challenging the second round.

Finally we mosey to the cars for a small ring of fire with YHC calling cadence for holding the push up (6″ from ground) for many seconds multiple times until time ran out.

Numberama, Namerama, Chaplain took us out in prayer

Glad to have some visitors for the RVA summer tour and hoped you enjoyed some of the fine attributes at ANVIL that we have to offer! So Long! SYITG…Cheers….CB!

  • Recipes from the internet

Six posted for the most recent Punisher. Mosey to the side yard for COP – SSH 21s (count 5 and no counting for the remaining 16, else Burpees – there were a few Burpees), IWs, DQs, Russian Soldiers, Merkins, APDs, and Arm Circles.

Lunge across the grass to the outdoor classroom and spread out among the picnic tables. Ten rounds of 15 Dips with short pauses between sets.

Mosey to playground for a Triple Check – one guy holds Elbow Plank and another completes LBCs while the third finishes 10 Jerkins on the swing set.

Bataan Death Crawl (F3 Exicon) up next. Line up and begin slow Bear Crawl around the perimeter of the soccer field. Last guy in line completes five Burpees then runs to the front of the line, tagging the last guy in line on the way. Next guy does the same. Everyone gets one turn.

Found a soccer ball and everyone took a turn at a penalty kick. All were successful with varying degrees of kick velocity. No punitive Burpees needed.

Jog around the side of the school to the tree-covered front yard for Lindsays – alternating between Reverse Crunches and Box Cutters.

Find the nearby wall for a brief People’s Chair. Hit the ground for a few minutes of stretching. YHC took us out.
