  • The New ‘River Run’

River Run, or Lake Run, or Salisbury Run. A new beginning for the few of us that attend. It was decided new routes were desired so Bullseye and YHC met at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer or Reds the last few outings and found the terrain and options to be welcoming. We’ll meet there for the foreseeable future. The River is still within reach, 4miles, so the name can stick as far as I care.

Getting used to the new routes, it was a 4ish mile jaunt around Salisbury including a few holes on the golf course.

  • First Ruck of the New Year

Two Brave Hims gathered at the Rountrey Stop Sign this morning for the latest installment of Wednesday Morning Rucks. One Him enjoyed a coffee.

Following a well trodden path, the fellas discussed life, fatherhood, and finances over the course of approximately two miles. At the conclusion of the ruck, they agreed there are some limits to the lengths they are willing to go to save a buck or get a deal.

Join us next week for another installment of Wednesday Morning Rucks!

    Check Slack for Announcements.

  • Focus on Evolution

A group of 10 HIMs gathered at Ruckhenge on this pleasantly cool morning to kickoff the New Year. With the New Year brings new territory on the map as we hustled our way over to Fisher Elementary to explore the grounds. At the soccer fields we “lost” Dealer and Snip to injury, giving the PAX a chance to practice our casualty carries. We then returned back to the flag for coffeerama at Einstein Bagel. Today’s discussion topic centered around how we have individually evolved from the time we were 26 years old, and some great stories were shared around the table.

Always an honor to lead the group!

    Announcements:
    – Clean-up day at Rock-n-Roll in the works for 1/10 but may be postponed due to weather.
    – Frozen Triangle coming in early-February. Check Slack for details and sign-up!
    – Happy 50th birthday to our man Bone Thugz!

YHC took us out in prayer, lifting up Thugz’ kids.

  • Futon’s Farmer’s Carry Four Corners

On a morning with perfect weather condition for January, 7 HIMs showed up to The Woodshed for a beatdown that combined 2 downrange workouts that YHC attended over the holiday break. Mumble chatter was minimal which YHC took as a sign that the workout was doing its job of being a good beatdown! Here is how it went down:

Warmup: Mosey around the parking lot followed by various IC exercises/stretches.

COP 1: Farmer’s Carry Four Corners – Each PAX grabbed 2 cinderblocks each and started in Corner 1. Performed 4 Corners with repetitions going 5-10-15-10-5.

Corner 1: Curls, Block Overhead Squats, Block Overhead Flutter Kicks (DC)

Corner 2: Block Anterior Raises, Single Leg Squats (each leg), Windshield Wipers over Block

Corner 3: Bench Dips, No Surrenders holding Block, Block Chops (each side)

Corner 4: Blockees, Lateral Lunges holding Block, Halos (Clockwise/Counterclockwise)

Farmer’s Carry 2 blocks between each corner. After completing Corner 4, carried blocks back to Corner 1 and ran to the end of the parking lot in front of clubhouse and back to re-enter the circuit.

Ran out of time and unable to complete the last set of 5, therefore time called. Numbers, Names, Announcements (Frozen Triangle Tentatively 2/7), Prayers (No Specific prayers)

Pleasure to lead this morning fellas! Get out there and make contact with a PAX member you haven’t seen in a while and/or a friend that you haven’t spoken to in a while. Have a blessed day!

  • Cirque Italia

One ran four at five in the latest edition of The Clinic. Temperatures were a seasonal 70 and sunny. According to the woman wearing one sock correctly and another sock only halfway on, the following might have happened.

Usual Broward Blvd. Route. Somewhere around 4.5.

Number, name, and YHC took himself out.

NMS: It’s “winter” in south Florida, so it’s time for the circus. Canadians, Brits, Ruskies…you name it. The actual circus is also in town…something called Cirque Italia. It’s an Acquatic Circus. Sounds exotic. Get your tickets now.

    Announcements:

Sign up for Breaking Bread. Make dinner for 8-12 folks recovering from medical conditions in a safe environment. It’s on the Q sheet under HIM.

Frozen Triangle…tentatively February 7. While YHC likely can’t make it this year, it’s a fun event. The definition of CSAUP, and a fantastic way to make friends through a mutual challenge. Make a commitment to doing something that will push your boundaries.

  • Lunar Halos Out Here

2 Mammoth Champions emerged from the gloom for a hot kettlebell endeavor! Commando got an early start with a ruck before YHCs arrival. We enjoyed the lunar halo above the park for a brief moment!Let’s put ol YHCs memory to the test with the dime pounder routine that took place.

Warmarama was in the fashion of OYO to keep the mumble chatter flowing. Grab the Kettlebells and head for the field!

  • Let’s get the band back together

4 Bermuda Hermanos made it out for the first 2026 edition of The Bermuda Triangle. Due to a series of different reasons, the Bermuda Triangle was in hibernation in December, but these PAX were ready to go.

We started with a mosey lap to the lower parking lot and back for the standard warmarama.

The COP was a modification of a workout YHC stole from Meatball. This was done in a 4 corners style. All exercises were repeated in each corner with different traveling exercise between corners.

    50 Runners Poses single count

40 Runners Poses/40 Oblique LBCs (20 each side)

    30 RPs/30 Oblique LBCs/30 Alabama Prom Dates

Had to skip 20 for time

    10 Double Clutch Squat jumps/V Ups/Alabama Prom Dates single leg/Plank Jacks/Merkins

Great to be back out at Goyne Park with some of my Bermuda Bros. We all had a lot to pray for.

  • Brad Pitt’s best film?

We had a great workout this morning, and some nice mumble chatter per usual.

After discussing Hermey’s recent fishing excursion, and Dumar’s New Year’s Eve, the question of Brad Pitt’s best film arose. Nominees were:

    • Legends of the Fall (I think it’s not great, but was scolded by the PAX for expressing this opinion)
    • Interview with the Vampire (Dumar, he mentioned the movie at the very least)
    • A River Runs Through It (Hermey’s nomination, of course)
    • Fight Club (my pick)
    • Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

The Ocean’s 11 movies never came up. They suck.

Tzatziki might watch Legends of the Fall tonight. His M will likely join, I would guess.

Now then, first we ran a lap around the school, followed by:

SSHs, Andy Dufresne, helicopters, dead man hang, cherry pickers, copperhead squats, wife stretches, tempo merkins, Thor’s chair (a PAX favorite)

    20 swings, 20 goblet squats, 20 single leg deadlifts (10/leg), repeat 3x

20 APDs, 65 calf raises (reps negotiated down by Matlock), 20 Romanian deadlifts, repeat 3x

14 merkin pull throughs, 20 overhead presses, 20 upright rows, repeat 3x

20 tea kettles (10/side), 20 curls, 20 skull crushers, only time to repeat 2x

Names, numbers, announcements. YHC took us out.

That’s a wrap, gentlemen. Always an honor to lead you!
