  • Solo River Run

Uno Amego out for a run at BWES this morning. YHC decided to run the Tarrington route today but took the wrong right turn after the first round about and ended up cutting off about a mile and two hills. by the time YHC realized his mistake it was too late to back track. Run must have been right around 4 miles and the pace might have been around the 8 min mark. YHC no longer has a fancy GPS watch so distance and pace are difficult to keep track of.

  • Who needs rain

6 pax showed up Friday morning after the weather guesser said 100% chance of heavy rain.

    No rain but 100% humidity.

Easy routes today.. a 4, 4.75, and 5.5 allowing for us all to start and finish at the same time. We broke up into 3 pairs.

    • Roger Roger and Greenbow took on the 4 miler
    • Garbage plate and HandShake took on the 5.5
    • Probation and YHC took on the 5.5 with a few extra.

    Route:

    • right out of school on Pump
    • Left on pump
    • Right on Broad (or three chop for 4 miler)
    • Right on John Rolfe
    • Left i to the school.

    Great running with you guys.

COT in a F3 run is just that.. gotta show to know.

    SYITG!!

As always.. call a pax you haven’t heard from it may be exactly what he needed today.

  • Muddy Waters had Four Legs

9 studs and a couple of pooches ran off in groups of 2 or 3 (and maybe 1 or 4) for today’s rendition of Sunday Funday. Conditions were 70 and sunny with some exceptionally attractive mud puddles. According to the mountain biker unfamiliar with the trail rules, here’s more or less what happened:

North Bank (everyone) to a bridge. Some T-Pot, some Belle Isle. Once some were on Belle Isle, some did the loop, some did not. For the T-Pot bunch, some did Forest Hill, perhaps the full loop or perhaps the lake loop, and everyone made it back to the flag. Distances ranged from 6+ to 10+. All in all, the perfect way for each man to spend a Sunday morning running to the beat of his own drummer.

Virtual names, numbers, etc. That’s how we roll on Sunday Funday.

    NMS:

Close to the busiest that YHC has ever seen the trails (excluding race days). Tons of runners, lots of friendly k-9s, and a few bikers. Faceplant’s dog rocked it today. Trotted along safely behind the runners, and then found his own bliss in the mud and water. Happier than a pig in slop at the end. Pictures of Faceplant’s vehicle interior are forthcoming.

Welcome FNG Wes, whose name is subject to some pondering. Considerations are Compass, Rock Doc, Flipper (taken), and Tear Down.

Olivander is raising a Friends and Family round of funding for a start-up rural ambulance service. ROIs look promising.

ETs was excellent. Thank you all for joining me.

    UpChuck spits the bit.

Extra credit goes to the few baller kids who actually rolled down the grassy hill! The PAX welcomed FNG “Jagger” today, Roger Roger’s firstborn, nicknamed because he named himself some nonsense that sounded like “MitJagr“, and he has the moves like Jagger, so there you go! NMS:

    • YHC arrived early enough to watch the dynamic Breakfast Club duo, Gomer Pile and Hitchhiker, make their honorable entrance. YHC took a few minutes to review the plan before Q’ing two workouts back to back – but the sage advice of GP was well appreciate, “Fight the Enemy, Not the Plan” …in other words, have a plan in place, but be ready to adjust in order to win. Well, 0600 arrived, and the PAX took off, complemented by the down range powerhouse Linked In – welcome! Some highlights of the morning were a few rolled eyes with the 8-count No Cheat Merkins, nobody slipping to their death going up and down the wet amphitheater steps, the heroic effort and enthusiasm the entire PAX put into CRUSHING the Gun Show Dora, two separate “Bodos” salutes (blocks broken to smithereens), Gomer Pile hazing Bodos on his block curls quality, and the groans and mumble chatter accompanying the Murder Bunnies and BBJO’s to end the morning. YHC is honored as always to be a part of this group. Thx for letting me lead today brothers. SYITG, DTH

Great day for a beat down but extremely muggy. While talking after the COT YHC was reminded the he and Wojo graduated from the same High School in Charlotte, NC though a couple years apart. It’s always interesting to see how lives and paths have crossed over the years and how we may really never know it until later in life.
