  • No Sad Clown @ Tomato Run

YHC was pumped to revisit the test hill near I-95 north of the Wall this morning. Driving to BW3 Solo as my 2.0 was too tired from class yesterday arrived to an empty parking lot. No worries get out the shovel flag and set up folks will come…but no one showed and YHC threw on the headlamp for safety and started the route. This time went on an exploratory route and came up with a great 4 mile option. Easy run of a sub 8:30 pace.

    Moleskin

Great run this morning as I had time to think about the blessings of being able to run and exercise, it was a steamy morning and great to have this one in the books for today.

    SYITG…Cheers…CB

    I’d Keep Playin’. I don’t think the heavy stuff…

2 men started and 2 men joined to make a foursome on this the rainiest Roller Coaster of the season. As the First Four rolled off the 18th green, a solo launched his round to make a Fivesome for the day. Temps were sunny and 70. According to Carl Spackler, this is more or less how the round went:

Swirly and YHC completed 3 loops – Small, medium and large

Saab-ski did a couple of rounds, briskly passing YHC & Co. on the last one.

TYA literally rode circles around the group.

Bone Thugs ran off on his own. Looked solid. No joke.

We silently numbered and named with 15 minutes of exaggerations and the like to round out the COT.

    NMS:

Solid run today with Swirly. Thanks for pushing YHC. Good to be back out after a few weeks of travel.

Anthrax is MIA. Possible lost at sea (in heavy weather). Last known position: Latitude: 37.565293 | Longitude: -77.51026

Please have light dinner before the party. I will prepare mostly finger food at my backyard.

    Thanks!

    Hitchhiker

  • 4 men, 2 Deer and 1 Hot Morning

With Swirly emasculated by a small dog who demands his attention and Shiplap nowhere to be seen, only 4 of us gathered in the humid gloom of WDog. No Q was on the sheet, so Bodos grabbed the potato and off we went.

COP in the Amphitheater: various stretches!

Dora: 100 Box Jumps, 200 Incline Merkins, 300 2x Flutterkicks. Partner runs the rim of the amphitheater.

Hot potato passed to Faceplant, who ran us down to the bottom of Love Hill.

Burpback Mtn: A terrible routine in which one partner performs burpees while the other partner runs halfway up the hill and back. Switch, rinse and repeat until each team reaches 100 burpees.

Mosey/Lunge/Bear Crawl back up the hill with intermittent stops for ab exercises.

COP : various stuff at the end

Hitchhiker and Oyster took us out with some inspirational words about God’s plan for our lives and the call to love.

NMS: lots of mumble chatter about the wretched humidity. A buck and his doe stopped to watch us for a bit. We also decided on the key typecasts for the major Virginia schools. VMI guys are strong, UVA guys are slippery, W&M guys are smart, UR guys are rich, and VCU guys are weird. SYITG

  • Blockwork Orange

An elite 8 clocked for a beatdown idea that looked much better on paper. Light mumble chatter as the clock neared 0500 with a pair rolling in right at the top of the hour. Quick circle up to grab a coupon and mosey half way down Ridge for COP.

    Exercise I: Coupon Dora

quick COP to get a taste of the humidity; partner up for Dora

runners to and from the triangle parklet on ridge and back to down to Country Squire.

exercises were 100 alternating merkins on the coupon, 200 coupon presses (bench or push) and 300 200 coupon swings.

quick breather following that smoker… then farmers carry back up Ridge to return the coupons.

Circle up for about 10 minutes of Broga, which was needed following the Dora.

4 MOM and a merkin ring of fire.

Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out.

    Moleskin

Please lift up Boberry and his father.

Happy Hour planned for later this month 23rd/24th?

First Watch on the River next Wednesday from 5-6, meet at Huguenot Flatwater. Back up date is 7/23.

Puppy Pile this Saturday. Bring yourself and your 2.0s.

YHC has announced the official retirement of an offsite coupon workout, effective as of 6am this morning. to be fair, Upchuck warned YHC about this at 0502. Kudos to the PAX for battling through that one, YHC isn’t always full of the best ideas.

  • Big Bang!

    The thing:

This 3.0 mile beatdown at WTH started with a fast jog around to short pump elementary school

    Warmarama:

    In cadence:

    Side straddle hops

    Dead man hang

    Merkins

    LBCs

YHC learned from the past to explain his cadence and all had a few laughs

We then mosied onto the ball field!

    COP 1:

7 of diamonds on the ball field. Home plate to right corner 7 merkins, center field 7 more and home plate 7 more to hit the Diamond pattern.

    Round two: 14 mountain climbers

    Round three: 21 flutter kicks

    Round four: 28 LBCs

    10 count and we’re off

    COP 2:

Mosie to the center of the football field for a Big Bang!

    4 rounds

PAX stays shoulder to shoulder facing out of the circle. Sprint 15 seconds 15 reps of an excercise

    Round 1: plank jacks

    Round 2: WW2s

    Round 3: Merkins

    Round 4: side straddle hops

Mosie the long way back to the flag.

    Thanks for the Q gents!

  • Crazy Talk

A PAX of two met on Zoom for 3rd F. To account for over preparing last time, YHC underprepared.

YHC had prepared a bit of trivia about some of the “bizarre” stories of the Bible. Florence’s knowledge of the scriptures is stunning. It was great to get to know him a bit better. Where two or more are gathered…

Put the next 3rd F on your calendar: June 22nd at 8pm on Zoom.

Any ideas for multi-access/HyFlex gatherings? Send them my way. Perhaps we could take this 3rd F on the road and have a blend of in-person and virtual attendance.

  • Welcome Penny

The traffic on the trails is picking up. Gomer and Saab hit the roads at blazing speeds. Helix and YHC went Buttermilk to TPot to Northbank, picking up Sippy and K9 Penny there. The PAX reconvened at the parking lot. YHC bets Penny will fit right in with Peeta, Sally, Parker, and the other F3 K9s.

The mayor is still missing – the PAX hopes TYA’s heals quickly.
