  • Johnny is the goodguy

    COP

In light of the recent release of season 3 of the best teenage drama ever, we began cobra kai training at the clubhouse. SSHs, helicoptors, jazzercise, merkins, front kicks, side kicks, and shuffle jabs. Off to find the beast of new market again.

    THANG

The Beast was located at New Market 2. It was dark, quiet, and 72 degrees. Perfect weather to destroy him, and the kai’s were animals. YHC was impressed with fortitude and speed of the PAX. It was an altered beast –

first 6 stops were 6 ssh’s, next was 6 ssh’s followed by squats, stack those up with merkins, 4th set to add in was plank jacks along with the 1st 3 excersises, then WWII’s, finally hello dolly’s. Beast was slain, with some time left. Back to clubhouse with Nancy leading. No one told him this wasn’t a race.

YHC called some sprints, a mary circle and was out of steam but felt the cobra kai’s would benefit from a few burpees. Honeymoon disagreed. YHC believed the cobra’s had enough, but Johnny Lawrence (Nancy) felt compelled to utilize the last 1 min and 30sec for a session of plank balance exercise. Mumble chatter ensued. Strike first, strike hard, no mercy.

Numberama, name-arama, prayers for pax, honeymoon’s dad and thanks be to God.

  • Wolfpack of 2

I’d like to, I’d like to say something that I’ve prepared tonight. Hello. How ‘bout that ride in? I guess that’s why they call it Sin City. You guys might not know this, but I consider myself a bit of a loner. I tend to think of myself as a one-man wolf pack. But when my sister brought Doug home, I knew he was one of my own. And my wolf pack, it grew by one, so where there two, there were two of us in the wolf pack. I was alone first in the wolf pack and Doug joined in later. And six months ago, when Doug introduced me to you guys, I thought “Wait a second, could it be?” And now I know for sure: I just added two more guys to my wolf pack. The four of us wolves, running around the desert together in Las Vegas, looking for strippers and cocaine. So tonight, I make a toast! Blood brothers!

We showed up, we worked, we conquered and started the morning off right.

Hey, just seeing if anyone actually reads these things.

  • Second hand smoke

At 5:30 am Huguenot High School welcomed an eclectic mix of Forge regulars, visitors, and a special lady smoking the chronic in her car. The stage was set for an epic beatdown that was sure to be enjoyed by all.

Greenbow took us out. Specific prayers for Last Call’s MIL and all those battling COVID.

    Final Thoughts:

It was great to have Fin stop by this morning. He is part of F3 in Greenville, NC and was in town for a couple days for a swim meet.

Also happy that Greenbow’s comeback tour reached our neck of the woods.

Glad we got this workout in despite all of the uptick in COVID cases. Stay safe out there!

There’s a lot to love about being outside early in the morning: the crisp cold air and the crunching of the frost beneath our feet can be magical at times. But there is no better treat than running through a cloud of ganja smoke in route to the warm-up circle.

It was an honor to lead!

    NMM

While we were chatting at the end there was a speed demon lunch lady who must have been late, we were ready to jump out of the way as fast as they were rolling in! Good to catch up with Bullseye. These times are tough on all of us. YHC is very thankful we have each other to lean on. As ever during this ongoing pandemic it feels like we are in the year 2020 part 2. YHC appreciates we all have different comfort levels. Two PAX with COVID is certainly scary. As with all the beat downs YHC has attended this week we took extra care to maintain social distancing.

Ongoing support to TYA as he continues his treatments.

    Saab abides – when able.

  • A Little Hill Workout

6 Davillians showed up for our weekly run this morning. YHC had given everyone a heads up we would be switching it up a little this morning and doing a hill workout rather than a normal run.

We started with a warmup jog to the Knollwood entrance a little over a mile from starting point. Once at hill we started at bottom and gave it all we had to run to top (about .15 miles), then walk back about 100 yards and jog down to bottom of hill. Repeat. Half the group completed 6 rounds and other half completed 5 reps. Finished with 1 mile jog back. Total mileage was approximately 4-4.5 miles for the PAX.

    Counterama, Namerama, Announcerama, 6th man

We encouraged each to sign up for Q’s and continue to work on getting others out for workouts.

    Great workout this morning fellas.

YHC took us out in prayer.

  • Refreshing Run

In a crispy cold but refreshing morning, three brave men showed up. Orange Crush felt like we did not put enough layer considering temperature. As soon as we started running toward the DogPile, he never mentioned it again. Upon completion of return trip, we all felt great and were glad we did run in the morning.
