  • Learning the Loop

6 Davillians (5 runners and a walker) got the week started with a practice run for the Daville 35.

    Routes

Mudface looked to be solo today and seem to do the reverse Honey Meadows loop

Runners started early from the Rutland clubhouse, came through Atlee to check for any 5:30 runs, then loop around Honey Meadows then back from a 10k

Opus showed up a little later and got started at Atlee to get in 4.8 miles

Great run for everyone this morning!

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • I’m Back!!!

After months of avoiding any appearances in the gloom, yours truly decided to go back out and Q. It was nice to see 14 able bodied warriors descend upon the fashionable Westham west location. The workout went like this:

COP: 20 SSH, 10 DQs, 15 arm circles each way, 25 Freddie Mercuries

Exercise 1: Mosey to where Bodos holds his outdoor services. 4 corners: 10 burpees, 20 WWIIs, 30 2 count mountain climbers and 40 2 count flutter kicks

Mosey to another parking lot. Lunge about 200 feet. Curb bear crawl up to 6 merkins

Mosey back to school. Elevens with merkins on the bike rack or nearby with run to teacher’s parking lot and do WWIIs. 55 Merkins total. I nearly tripped checking out the nearby running group.

Mosey to nearby wall and partner up. Partner runs the horseshoe while other person does donkey kicks and then balls to the wall for the second loop.

Finished with SSHs led by Tryhard, DQs and cherry pickers (stretching is good when you are getting old).

Announcements: Iron Pax information should be on another backblast. I think that Twin Team will have the first installment led by Dr. Tryhard.

Campout (2nd F) to be held in Amelia County on 10/3. Registration should be on one of the backblasts.

The seasoned folks at Gridiron are discussing holding a convergence for Labor Day (9/7). More details or a vehement denial will be posted this week.

I enjoyed getting back in to the early morning workout. More to come.

    Mosey back to the lot.

Back to the flag – 3 burpees OYO!

Prayers for Florence’s Mother in Law

    NMS

Great to be back in the gloom! Way to work fellas!

  • Runners Ran – Walkers walked.

Runners got various miles and walkers got 4.5 miles.

Not sure of any conversations on the runs (I mean if you can talk and run, your not running hard enough), but the walk conversations were engaging and entertaining.

Found out Aisle 5 is REALLY filing for his Italian citizenship. So Aisle 5, since you can’t speak italian yet (connect with Rosetta), check out the attached video.

  • GridIron Pax Challenge

After enjoying half a Honeydo Q at Dogpile, YHC ducked out for the long drive to Short Pump, finding a handsome gaggle of (mostly) Respect-level veterans at GridIron. Here’s how YHC delivered a painful IPC practice round plus other stuff…

    • YHC took us out in Prayer

    NMS:

    • Always such a pleasure to spend time with the GridIron gang – what a great group of men! YHC decided to break up  and revise the IPC 2018 Week 4 routine as originally prescribed due to a longer timeframe to work with, and the added benefit of getting through the misery all together. Also forewent the “x100 Coupon Thrusters” and instead served up a steaming Captain Thor pie…which was consumed in its entirety with great enthusiasm. Strong work today gentlemen, and thanks for letting me lead. Keep headocking, Register for the 2020 Iron Pax Challenge, and YHC will SYITG
  • Shiplap will be getting a haircut

Seventeen strong braved the rain and fog and were pleased to find freshy cut grass across the AO, albeit not bagged.

COP: SSH, Russian Soldiers, Don Qs, Merkins, Arm Circles, LBCs, Scorpion Kicks. Mosey to end of street for:

Burpee Road: 2 Burpees at every light up & back. Then over to Carrillon field. Partner Up – Wheelbarrow across and back 2 times. Stay together for PLTs: 3 sets of 25 each.

Rusty Cage: 4 sets of – 6 Pull-ups & 10 Dips. Over to the bowl behind Amphitheater: 5 rounds of up & back with 10 upside down WWIIs and 15 Merkins on the side.

Amphitheater: 5 Box Jumps each step – all the way up. Finish with some time in the Honeymoon Suite to honor Wojo’s big day today.

Announcements: Hardywood’s Alpaca-palooza for today has been CANCELLED and will be rescheduled. Iron PAX will be Tuesday’s at all AOs except for Spider Run. So if you want soccer arms go to Spider Run, otherwise sign up for the next 4 Tuesday and particpate in the IronPAX challenge, see Boberry’s Pre-blast

NMS: A lot of sore pax from the 10k yesterday slowed or kept PAX out this am. Still 17 in the rain were ready to go, including Bone Thugs, aye! DTH double dipped, leaving at the Rusty Cage to go take the Q at Gridiron. Not sure that has been done before.

On the initial mosey Malpractice mentioned he had never attended a Honeydo Q before which doesn’t seem possible. Been a while since we did a Burpee road but the darkness at 6 is back.

The field for PLTs was good with all the newly cut grass as everyone was properly covered in grass clippings. At the Rusty Cage we were met with a Box Jump box at the bottom along with several huge boulders, like too big for Swirly to pick up….

Box Jumps seemed to take it out of everyone but spirits picked up when we earned our time in the Honeymoon Suite. YHC was hoping Wojo would post so he could have some last second practice.

Good times at ETs including at Circle K sighting.

  • POSTPONED: F3 Family BBQ at Hardywoods

Fellas, we are going to postpone tomorrows BBQ at the Hardywood family farm in Amelia. We have a brutal case of poison ivy that has taken down the M. We are gonna get her back in good shape and reschedule soon.

So sorry for the late notice.

    Your pal,

    Hardywood

  • Virtual Bone Thugs 10k

After Mister Rogers appeared in the gloom at BMNT we agreed to run at least 6.2 in honor of our downtown brothers.

NMS – The route was a new one with a little of this and a little of that. I knew it was going to be a smidgen long, but also know that Mister Rogers is up for anything. We were with you in spirit.

    Congrats Bone Thugs!

    Currahee!

Great work by the PAX today.  Enjoying having Gypsy in RVA.  Reported soreness from Gypsy post-workout due to the cannonball weights he used.  White Deer and Byproduct chose not to comment after looking at their KBs. Plenty of mumble chatter from the PAX, but not on that one.

Reminder of the family BBQ at Hardywood’s farm this weekend.  Check the pre-blasts for more detail.

God is good all of the time! Attila
