  • Shamrock Shoulder Day

Seven leprechauns came for all the green Batteau had to offer. Here’s what we found at the end of the rainbow:

Vinny Q: SSHs x 20. Imperial Walkers x 15. Russian Soliders x 15. LBCs x 15. Merkins x 10. Stay on the tennis courts for Crab Walk 11s. One exercised per side. Doubles line to doubles line. LBCs and Squats.

ABBA Q: Mosey to playground. Partner up for 5 by 5s. 5 Pull-ups timed the dips. 5 rounds each. Mosey to the grassy knoll for more 5 by 5 fun. 5 Flutter Kicks at the bottom and 5 Merkins at the top. Repeat x 5. Back to the playground for, you guessed it, 5 by 5s. Partner up. 5 Pull-ups and Squats.

Flange Q: Mosey back to the grassy knoll for Touch a Dora. 100 LBCs. 150 Freddy Mercurys. 200 Jump Squats. Touch a different tree when running out. Back to the flag for 2MOM. Merkin ring of fire. 7 dealers choice. Non-yoga, yoga to finish.

    Flange took us out.

Announcements: Grow Ruck comes to town this weekend. See Pre-Blast. Dogpile launches at 7:00 a.m. Breakfast Club launches at 6:30 a.m. from ET’s. If you are planning to hit DP, we need you to join us for Breakfast Club as well. There will also be an early bird at ET’s on Saturday morning at 6:00 a.m. leading up to the 6:30 launch. Join us for that as well if you’d like.

Moleskin: Spring and Spring Break are in the air. The Joneses are in full swing. Who can go on the most impressive spring break trip is a well known Richmond tradition. Flange went to Radford. YHC is staying put. The Joneses we are not.

Great morning for a beatdown today, and maybe a little non-yoga, yoga for Shakedown. YHC spilled some merlot, and can’t even say I had any green beer or otherwise yesterday. Gotta love Richmond in the spring time (and in the fall for that matter). Enjoyed it, as always.

  • TK(Batteau)O’d

Six of F3RVA’s finest posted at Batteau for another weekly installment of hot potato. We all survived, but barely.

Swirly Q: SSHs x 20. Helicopters x 10. DQs x 10. Imperial Walkers x 10. Merkins x 10. Mosey to the F3 quarry. Grab a partner / grab a rock. Partner 1 lunges to first light and back while partner 2 completes overhead presses. Repeato for each of the following: High knees + Curls. Butt Kickers + WWII Presses. Karaoke + (I’m smoked / Can’t remember).

Vinny Q: Mosey to bottom of Hill of Ill Repute. Partner Up. Partner 1 runs to the top of the hill and back while partner 2 Crawl Bears. Switch and repeat as follows: Bernie Sanders lunges and Triple Jump Squats until the PAX gets to the top of the hill.

Faceplant Q: Mosey back down to the lake. F3 Raleigh celebrated 8 years this weekend. Run the lake loop and complete 8 Merkins at each lamp post. Hell of a way to celebrate.

Swirly Q x 2: NA run to the top of the Hill of Ill Repute. Down into the pit. 20 Dips and 10 Incline Merkins x 3 sets. Back to the Flag for Mary. Cross Leg Lifts x 10 per leg. Alabama Prom Dates x 10. Flutter Kicks x 10. All IC.

    Sugar Sock took us out.

Announcements: Grow Ruck is coming. Dogpile is at 7:00 a.m. that morning and will be standard procedure. It is not a ruck, but is part of the Grow Ruck operation. There will also likely be Breakfast Club and a 6:00 a.m. Dogpile as well. Plan to hit both or the 7:00 a.m. if you can only hit one.

NMS: Finally some nice weather for a beatdown. We were glad to see Sugar Sock out and well, and to have Posh join us for his maiden Batteau beatdown. They both crushed it.

Sippy Cup DROVE to the work out. But he had an excuse. He paced Bootleg this weekend at the Belmonte 50k, and by all reports, Bootleg crushed it. Surviving snowy conditions and debilitating cramps 7 miles from the finish line. Way to crush it Bootleg, and way to be a model F3 brother Sippy!

Swirly’s vest doesn’t have a name yet, that I know of, but it posted again today. Hell of a job today Swirly. Way to bang it out!

    Enjoy the day men.

  • My Love For You Will Never Die

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWofTFZRsDQ

Six sun seekers met in the clear darkness of Batteau to enjoy Hardywood’s drug of choice. Here’s how we rolled it:

COP: Arm Circles (to test out the old wing) x 10. SSHs x 20. Russian Soldiers x 10. Imperial Walkers x 10. Merkins x 10.

Coffee Black: Batteau Beast (in the bowl). American Hammers + Plank Jacks + Mountain Climbers + WWIIs + (an exercise that completely escapes me) + HR Merkins.

Cigarettes: Triple Check. Swing Planks + SSHs while timer runs to the tree (see Bleeder for further aborist information as to the type) and performs 5 merkins of choice.

Start This Day Like All The Rest: Mosey down to the bottom of the Hill of Ill Repute. Partner up: Round 1 – partner 1 runs to the top of the hill and back while partner 2 crawl bears up the hill. Switch and repeat. Round 2 – partner 1 runs to the top of the hill and back while partner 2 lunges. Round 3 – partner 1 runs to the top of the hill and back while partner 2 triple jump squats.

First Thing In The Morning That I Do…:  Flutter kicks x 100 IC.

NMS: Day two of Vinny’s World Tour is in the books. We put a lot down on the plate today and ate every bit of it. Well done gentlemen. There was lots of joy in the air due to the lack of clouds. Bleeder and Hardywood were particularly spry this morning. On the way out, Hardywood noted his drug of choice, the sun. It was a welcome infusion for sure. Make it a great day men. Thanks for letting me lead.

  • Higher Level Math

    My Dear PAX,

Greetings to you on another glorious Monday morning! YHC arrived at BATTEAU’s Stone House to find GREENBOW’s truck circling the loop in search of a familiar face. We were shortly joined by the vehicles of VINNY and BLEEDER, and by the time YHC was planting the ShovelFlag, SWIRLY arrived on foot. Expecting the F3RVA Spirit Animal to arrive at any moment, YHC led the gathering men for a few moseycize laps around the loop, and sure enough HARDYWOOD came skidding in on 2 wheels, followed closely by SIPPY CUP on foot – both joining us just in time for our Warmerama COP.

    NMS:

    • As always, enjoyed bringing a couple new things into the routine – specifically the Squerkin was a solid shoulder burner – definitely gonna bring that out again. And the “Exerclocks” (as I call them) filled a good portion of our workout with full body variety. VINNY thought they should be called the TI-80 (like the calculator) since “they require higher level math to figure out”. GREENBOW, as a descendent of clock-makers, had about 15 different ideas for what they could be called. At any rate, it’s a good enough routine I’m sure we’ll land a good name for them at some point. Final thought – the official F3 6MOM was a solid finale on the morning, though the rest periods, while appreciated, seemed odd in comparison to the usual non-stop burner Mary typically delivered by our Q’s. All in all, an excellent way to start the week!

We kept it moving today and other than a few times when the wind kicked up it was a beautiful morning and a great way to start the day. It seems the crowd favorites this morning were the swing jacks (a Vinny special) and Wilson’s boxing cock roach – both ab busters…  We had a nice tempoed mix of arms, abs, running…

Excellent work guys – thanks for allowing me to lead.

Announcements : Remember to go online and order your shirt if you have not already.  Stay tuned for a new date for Puppypile. Sign up for breaking bread.

BT took us out – well said brother !

  • Life Below Zero – F3RVA: Director’s Cut

    ABBA took us out.

Announcements: Puppy Pile this Saturday, weather permitting. Ollie is on the call.

Naked Mole Skin: Great work by all men posting across the region this morning. The temps were no joke, as was evidenced by my car windows remaining frozen shut until I got back home post workout. Since Phonics is taking note, I’ll play along. We had one brother in shorts, who was also in a weight vest. One brother wearing Adidas pants. One brother carrying a sippy cup, and one brother who just came back from Denmark, where it was warmer.

Per his usual, Sippy Cup ran to the AO. Of important note, the contents inside did not freeze. Sippy Cup, on the other hand, may have. At least his left side. I did not see him on the Nickel Bridge on the way back. Hopefully he made it home safely, and didn’t swallow any June bugs.

Dr. Try Hard brought his shovel flag. Dr. Try Hard’s shovel flag brought its own F3 flag. The growth is real.

    Stay warm men.

  • Solo on the Ice

Lonely, dark, and slippery  @ Batteau this morning.

Run to the AO – Run around the AO – Run back home. Scrape the ice of the cars = Boom !

Got word that Vinny would not be there last night – figured Sippy might not be there because the bridge is closed – Bleeder might still be in Wintergreen – so when 5:30 hit and nobody else was there I was not surprised or deterred because you only need 5 letters to define the word commitment – ALL IN ! (Swirly’s Board)

    See y’all in the gloom..
