Burritos were the call.  The M and 2.0 jumped in to help.  My 2.0 browned, drained and seasoned the ground beef.  The M picked out tea and lemonade to drink and a seasonal dessert, a pumpkin roll, prepared by none other than Kroger.  We dropped off the items, with all the fixins (shredded cheese, shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa) a pile of tortillas and tortilla chips (party size of course), drinks and dessert and headed out to see our nephew’s evening soccer game.  Good family fun.  Oyster, thanks for the details and holding this position down.  See y’all in the…

YHC and 2.0 Snare delivered an abundance of piping hot Genova’s pizza along with some homemade goodies and sides to the great folks at the Daily Planet on Sunday. As we walked in we got a hearty welcome and a joyous “we were hoping for pizza”. Boom, wish granted! Football was on the tv. Service and fellowship was had for a short while and souls were fed. they were still talking about Vandelay’s sandwiches too. fill up that Q- sheet for the last weekend of the month men! No More Gumbo For You!

My 2.0 and yours truly had the privilege of serving homemade sandwiches and soup to 10 souls at the Southside Health Center. Thanks for coordinating @Oyster. “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25:40

Fresh off the Annual Iron Chef competition (Saturday), nine food prospectors assembled in this evening’s edition of Breaking Bread. Temperatures were 70 and sunny. Numbers, names, and everyone had a wonderful evening.

YHC’s 2.0s entered the arena and threw down for the title of Iron Chef F3RVA. Llama prepared the side while BB-8 tackled dessert. A successful venture! They are very appreciative of the hot meal! I got there at 5:30 PM. I brought 2 Stouffer’s lasagna (each feeds 7), a carton of mixed spring greens, a bottle of Ranch and a bottle of balsamic vinaigrette salad dressing, cut up some carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes so that they could be added to the salad, 24 mini cupcakes, and 1 1/2 gallons of lemonade. Unfortunately, I left the rolls at home. I had to drop off because we went out of town that evening. I had some trouble finding the place. It’s a 2-story red brick…

10 patients awaited a hot meal. A busy day made cooking not an option. No worries, fire up the CFA app order a bunch of chicken strips, some fruit, some Mac N Cheese, a gallon of tea and a gallon of lemonade and boom – dinner is served. Throw in some cookies made by YHC’s 2.0, and her and I delivered and served up a hot meal to the fine folks at The Daily Planet. It can be that simple gents. If you haven’t done it yet, do it. They need it, and they appreciate it. No More Gumbo For…

80% of the Splinter clan planned and participated in this past Sunday’s Breaking Bread. Last minute commitments prevented us from breaking bread with them, only drop off and setup this time around. 2.0s planned, shopped, prepared, cooked, packaged, and served this week. YHC was only required for transportation. Meal was parmesan crusted chicken, asparagus, french bread, caesar salad, and cookie brownies for dessert. A fun time was had by all.

5 were rooting for Michigan State, 2 for Auburn and 1 had VCU going all the way. The real winners tonight was this smoked bbq, coleslaw, baked beans, rolls and some cake. Warmarama: My apologies to Orange Crush for calling a pellet smoker an Easy-Bake Oven. But it sure does make cooking an 8lbs pork butt almost too easy. The Thang: 1st round served, then 2nd and 3rd. Which made cleanup a breeze. The tacos Upchuck brought the night before were still the talk of the room—hoping my BBQ lives up to the hype. No leftovers is a good sign. The…
