  • The Q forgot his gloves

    Four faithful found their way to Circus Maximus to start February off right. Here is how it went:

    COP- SSH, merkins, LBCs, Don Qs, 20KB swings

    mosey to back of school. 2 sets of 30Donkey Kicks, lunges across, 20 Halos. Then 2 sets of Merkin ROws and Sit-up Presses. Head back to side for Boat-Canoe and Elbow Plank. 2 sets of Pullovers.

    Burpee Escalator- start at 8 Burpees pm, up to 11.  Finish with Mary. Atilla took us out.

    NMS- YHC realized pulling in to the AO he forgot his gloves, not good when lugging a freezing cold KB for 45 min. Luckily White Deer has a spare set.

    Mumbelchatter was light, most noise was of the non-verbal variety. yHC tried to broach the idea of poaching Jville from the SOJ Csaup team, with no luck. White Deer and Atilla were downright pleasant with each other.

     

     

     

  • EMOM-a-Rama

    Three redwoods posted on a cool morning at Circus Maximus with Kettlebells in hand (except Offshore, who needed a loaner). Jville (yhc) took Q and this is what went down —

    Cop
    25 ssh, 25 iws, 50+ arm circles, 20 squats

    Emom 1
    Each minute for 10 min, 15 merkuns 10 KB swings

    Emom 2
    Rinse repeat with 15 goblet squats 10 high pulls

    Emom 3
    Rinse and repeat with 15 skull crushers 10 sit and press

    Cot with yhc taking us out.

    The emoms had a nasty cumulative effect. The squat/high pull seemed to be the worst since it required arm strength to hold up the KB for something long.

    The sit and press was a real tramp stamp destroyer.

    Offshore upgraded to a bigger kb than usual. He handled it well.

    Fartsack be damned!  3 noble warriors fought through the malaise of the midweek.  Here is how the adhoc Q went down.

      • Deep squats (8x)
      • Tricep curls (7x)
      • High pulls (6x)
      • Alternating arm KB swings (5x)
      • Alternating weighted lunges (4x)
      • Heels to heaven (3x)
      • Sit ‘n presses (2x)
    • Farmers carry to the parking lot
      • Boat/canoe/row
      • Ring of fire – 2x (10 merkins each round)
    • COT with YHC taking us out

    No Q today, no problem.  Just fall back to a variation of the Lucky Horseshoe, which is always a recipe for a smoker.  Props to White Deer for gutting through with higher weight and a wicked cough.  Great to see Offshore; always a fan of him not having 8 am classes to teach.  Finally, hope you enjoyed the rest Johnsonville!

    10 Lawnmowers each arm

    Clean and press each arm was added 10 minutes in

    Pick bell back up and hold it again

    increase count 5 for each time it is dropped

    It has been awhile since YHC had visited the Circus, so when Phonics asked if anyone wanted to go it seemed like a good time to revisit. When he saw that the Q was still open it seemed wrong not to take it. No Idea was hard sell, but once the promise of how much crap YHC would have to listen to when he got there he was in. YHC had not even fully left the truck before it started and it did not stop until he got back in it. I missed you guys too.

    Nothing makes YHC happier than when his planned beat down cuts the mumble chatter right off, it makes him feel like he is doing his job and some of this crew can talk through a lot.

    Something happened with a dog that sounded like a woman, best not to dwell on that to much.

    Jville and White Deer arrived via clown car to find a strange car awaiting.  Only after pleasantries and reintroductions did White Deer remember the bandana-ed mystery man.  YHC recently completed a little personal challenge having visited all AOs in RVA since August 1, except Circus.  YHC last visited there in February and thought it was time to renew the membership.  Offshore arrived just as Jville claimed the Q and the PAX was off.  All the snatch surely would have been a Honeydo favorite had he not celebrated the end of Hate the night before.  YHC would take White Deer up against any of the Bear Crawl legends, Bleeder, Honeydo, Flip Dog, any day.  White Deer further proved his mettle by slinging a 35.3 bell compared to Jville’s 35, YHC’s borrowed 30, and Offshore’s NERF KB.  Fun was had by all, and YHC shall return……someday.

  • Attila (aka the Grinch) Stole the Q

    The gloom called (namely an unexpected cold wind), and 4 magnificent warriors answered.  Here is how it went down.

      • 11 pullovers – 121 total
      • 10 weighted squats – 100 total
      • 9 KB swings – 81 total
      • 8 weighted lunges – 64 total
      • 7 halos – 49 total
      • 6 sit-n-presses – 36 total
      • 5 snatches – 25 total

    It was great to have Honeydo back today, and the PAX was strong.  Everyone but YHC was throwing around 35 pounds of Christmas cheer, so the high reps was intense.  Big t-claps for these strong men.  Johnsonville incited much mumblechatter with his arm-heavy slaughter starter that was a true COP.  However, by the end, he was an angel in disguise after I pocketed the hot potato and substituted it for a red pill.  I thought I was simply extending the week of Christmas themed workouts.  We will see if the PAX leaves some coal in my stocking.
