  • 4th of July at Currahee

Two for a run out of Godwin before the clown car to the official Independence day convergence at Atlee. We got in 5 miles with a very simple route. All runs are mobile COT so you gotta show to know.

  • No AC Talk

Handshake hid this morning so Roger Roger could not talk about air conditioners for 45 minutes like he did at Circus. The seven who showed up did the monthly Brocode run.

We also learned that way before there was the Richmond “gun hole”, there was a Pinto hole. Whether there is video of him falling backwards in concrete with a suite on while holding his dog is unknown.

Most did coffee afterwards and the smart ones did Iced Coffee. Gypsy also showed up for coffee which was a nice surprise.

  • Nothing was right

It’s Currahee we always have a Q.. We’ll at 930 Thursday night still no Q.. So YHC is local site Q and means I got it.. Show up at standard time and I’m the only one in the lot. Where is EF Hutton?? He is always 1st to arrive. Did I not read something about a convergence? OK. Checked slack. No convergence and it is in fact Friday. Weird. A few cars coming in a bit early. Holy crap it’s Handshake… early??? Am I being punked? 5:29:30. Um excuse me. WHERE TF is Mr Roger and Wally? Something is not right about today. Set the route and we all head out. 45 mins later we all show up.. Well almost all showed up. Bedpan is missing. He missed a turn and as I’m headed out to find him, I get this text: “Curahee. I took the long road. I’ll meet you at Dunkin. I’m already there.”. Lol. My brother Bedpan ran extra miles.. Didn’t come back to AO where his car was and stopped where he knew we would go for coffee. 🤣 Lighthouse gave him a ride back after coffateria.

Anyway. It was a circus of random shit at Currahee today. Glad we all were safe. Oh yeah.. I Forgot.. Roger Roger and Salt lick had a car try to take them out as well. CRAZY times in Westhoe.

  • Trail Day

Five of us did all the trails, two did some of them, three walked around Falconbridge and Raintree. All ten made it back to Godwin and most did coffee. See f3rvadogs.org for what the three dogs did.

Kayak/Canoe Wednesday at 5AM at Huguenot Flatwater.

    The Bridge Saturday July 19.

In the heat of the day
I hang my head down low
And hide my face from the sun
Through the light of the day
    Until the evening time
I’m waiting for the night to ccccome

  • Too Much Daylight

Disoriented by the light, the PAX set off on a route that proved too complex.  Here’s the intention:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • L on Old Prescott
    • R on Glen Eagles
    • R on Ridgefield
    • R on Flintwood
    • R on Falconbridge
    • R on Hickoryridge and continue on Windingridge
    • R on Sancrest
    • L on Dover Pointe
    • R on Falconbridge
    • L on Pump
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

Happy National Donut Day if you so choose to celebrate it.  Definitely a made-up holiday YHC can get behind.  Would a donut flag in the yard be too much of a political statement?  Handshake’s neighbors could debate it for days.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • WestHoe 2nd F lunch Tuesday
    • Bridge
    • Breaking Bread
    • Summer Tour – DogPile tomorrow
    • Prayers for safety on them roads
  • Currahee BroCode

9 joined up to run the traditional last Friday BroCode. One big square around the Westhoe best running AO. 4 miles if you do not turn back for the 6.

No Q. Just Cot for a 45 mins.

  • Meet Gloom, the Neurodivergent Pup

The Pax set out on a route as simple as it gets with YHC.  Here’s where:

    The Route

    • R on Pump
    • R on Ridgefield
    • R on Raintree
    • Circle the Lake behind the Raintree Racquet and Swim Club
    • Continue on Raintree to Gayton
    • Reverso on Raintree
    • L on Falconbridge
    • R on Pump
    • Back to SF

    Numberama, Nameorama, COT

    MOLESKIN

The Pax was greeted by Salt Lick’s hairy 2.0, Gloom.  Well-meaning, but a bit eccentric, Lulu said “Boy Bye” and Wally was just like “Chill Bruh.”  Miles were accomplished, no pickups were injured.  It was a beautiful morning, ruined by the fact that we were in fact running.

    ANNOUNCEMENTS

    • Breaking Bread – maybe needs a Q for tomorrow?
    • Convergence Monday – Tredegar Ironworks
  • 23 out 22 back

Picked up Q 10pm night before so didn’t have time to plan a route..

7 pax joined up for the out and back on Ridgefield. Easiest route in all over F3. (somehow Doozy got lost last time).

Right out of school parking lot. Left on Ridgefield. Run until it hits 23 mins.. Turn around and go back. This let’s everyone run thier pace, but still finish at same time.

    Nothing to report on mubblechatter.

  • Swimming for 45 mins

6 Pax showed up for a 45 min swimming lesson around the Westhoe region. Route was the easy part….the 99% humidity was the challenge.

The call was the Handshake route:
Right out of parking lot onto Pump
    Left at Either:
    Three Chopt (4 mile route)
    Dog Park (4.5 mile route)
    Broad Street (5 mile route)
    Left on Pump
    Right on John Rolfe
Left into parking lot off of Pump.

Yes the directions are correct.. those of us in Short pump understand that many of the roads change names for no apparent reason and you have another road by the same name fairly close by. No wonder Doozy gets lost running with us.

    TAP for Roger Roger recovery

2nd F at Fishin’ Pig at Inns Brook on Tuesday.

Thank you for letting me lead.

Call Handshake and ask him where he was this morning.

  • Eagles Hill

Six showed up on a crisp Friday morning for a mix of running and walking. Half the group took on the hills and cul-de-sacs of Glen Eagles Dr., logging about 4.5 miles. The rest enjoyed a solid 3-mile walk at a brisk pace. Spirits were high all around.

Thanks to everyone who made it out—and as always, apologies for the delayed backblast!
