  • No triple check this day at Dogpile

No triple check this day at Dogpile

YHC convinced his 2.0 to go out for a morning beatdown and we get to the AO in time to see the runners from ET arrive our group assembles and we are ready to roll. Here is what went down this morning:

    COP

We mosey to Crop circle at Triangle as we had a big group to do some morning warm ups with 20 SSH, 10 DQ, 19 Imperial Walkers, 20 4 ct LBC’s, 20 American Hammers, 15 reverse Scorpions, 10 Scorpions and 20 merkins.

    THANG

We mosey down the hill to the Pipe loop and partner up where Partner 1(P1) runs the pipe loop (Timer) Partner 2(P2) performs 5 ball dippers, 10 merkins and 15 2ct flutter kicks and repeats until P1 returns. Switch with P1 who performs the 3 exercises while P2 runs the pipe loop. We repeat this 3 times for a total of 4 reps each. Great working out with Gomer Pile and Swirly on this one. The partner teams crushed this circuit!

We need to get back up the hill so we perform a Paula Abdul (two light posts forward, then returning 1 light post back.) The exercise is a Bernie Saunders to 1st light pole, walk to second light pole run back to 1st light pole then Bernie Saunders to 2nd light pole walk to 3rd light pole and repeat until we get to the bottom of the Triangle. We lunge up to the crop circle, then AYG to the field in front of the War memorial tower. This was a great time for some mumble chatter up the hill and I had the pleasure of catching up with Ship Lap on this part of the beat down recovery from pipe loop.

We line up on one side of the field to start Black Jack. This is like 11’s but we go to 21 starting with 1 merkin then run to other side of field to do 20 LBC’s, run back to the start side of field 2 merkins, then to other side of field 19 LBC’s. The total count is 21 reps and we got to 17 merkins(some more) and 4 LBC’s before we needed to mosey back to flag.

    Mary

We circle up and perform about 2 minutes of stretching before COT.

    COT

We circle up Namerama, Numberama discussed a potential CSAUP/BRR coming up in August. Flatline mentioned that his Church’s food pantry needs diapers, formula, mac and cheese and breakfast cereal. Think Costco size here and if you can help please donate. (Flatline, please post details to this BB.)

We also had a Triple Check of brothers below: Munson, Seymour and Malpractice. Way to show up guys, unable to upload photo for security reasons…maybe can get some help from Wilson…

It is an honor to lead you fine men this morning and I look forward to seeing you in the gloom. Cheers…CB

  • Father’s Day Weekend Kickoff at Dogpile

YHC was happy to have his 2.0 (Hash) attend a Saturday morning workout and with the arrival of the ET Early morning run group we assembled and were ready to go, here is what went down on this cool cloudy and 68 morning:

    COP

We mosey down to the bottom of hill by the pump station and circle up for:

20 SSH, 15 DQ’s(slow), 15 Russian Soldiers, 15 Imperial walkers, 20 American Hammers (2ct), 20 LBC’s (4 ct), 15 Reverse scorpions, 15 scorpions, 24 merkins plus 5 slow merkins…we are warmed up and ready to rock this morning.

    THANG

We mosey to one of YHC’s favorite seasonal treats, the pipe loop. On this adventure we divide into groups of 2. I introduce the Bill Murray(with CB edit) which consists of 10 merkins, 10 squats, 10 WW2 Sit ups and 10 burpees. Partner 1(P1) runs the pipe loop and Partner 2(P2) performs the Bill Murray. When P1 returns from loop, he starts Bill Murray and P2 runs the loop. This would be 1 rotation and for this morning’s gasser, YHC decided on 4 rotations.

We wrap up the Bill Murray Pipe loop WO and then form up on the 1st Power Pole(PP) perform 10 merkins, then Bernie Saunders to the 2nd PP, 10 merkins, jog to next PP, 10 merkins, walk to next PP, 10 Squats, Bernie Saunders to next PP, 10 Squats, run to next PP, 10 Squats, walk to next PP, 10 Merkins, jog to next PP, get to circle and we jog to bottom of Triangle Loop.

YHC makes this a Dealer’s Choice and Pax can do any combination to the top of hill, Bernie Saunders, Bear Crawl, Karaoke (left and/or right), jog, run or lunge up the hill. We get to the top and Mosey to the Coupon Stage.

Venice Beach prep – YHC thought some curls for the girls were in order so we each grab a coupon and we partner up where P1 performs the Colt 45 with the block, this is 15 reps from bottom to mid point of curl, followed by 15 reps of midpoint to top of curl and finally 15 reps of full motion curls. P2 stands his coupon up on its end and performs squats over brick(making sure to touch the coupon at the bottom of the squat with your bottom<thanks Handshake for the idea>). Some high performers laid the block on it’s side for an even lower squat…F3 awesome ‘you against you’ efforts here gents! We do this rotation 2 times as the Colt 45s were a smoker for the pipes.

To complete our arm workout this morning we mosey to the Amphitheater bottom by the stage and begin the incline merkins at each seat, increasing by one to the top (mid way through YHC wanted to get some dips in and instructed the PAX to start with one Dip after completing the 10 incline merkins(the 10th step), then going up the remaining steps increasing by one with dips only. ) Well this painfully felt like the touch a tree audible from last fall and Upchuck and I had a laugh as he had to clean this up in subsequent Q’s to make sure we had the touch a tree down…So look for an HBR sanctioned explanation in future workouts.

With about 6 minutes left we mosey to flag for some Mary.

    MARY

We circle up and begin some stretches, for our back, legs, torso, we get some flutter kicks in 20 reps and begin a ring of fire (with so many we all do 5 merkins and then recover. That is a wrap for today’s Dogpile.

Numberama, Namerama…YHC took us out in Prayer.

Announcements – Next Wednesday is Hump day happy hour, check out Pre-blast as Kubota is hosting this event! Somehow Beers and miles came into this morning’s discussion. We will be having the July 4 convergence at No Toll starting at 6am with Hardywood and DTH taking the lead for this event.

    Moleskin

YHC came early with his 2.0 to get set and there was one car. With in 5 minutes we had the runners from ET’s, and everyone else show up right until the starting bell with 26 total showing up. It was great to see some faces that YHC has not seen for awhile and the energy was awesome this morning with Mumble chatter in full force made this fun to lead. For the F3 brothers who lost theirs dads this year we prayed for you this morning and for those fortunate enough to have your dads around, please catch up with them and tell them you love them.

It was an honor to lead this morning, have a great weekend gents, Happy Father’s Day and I will see you in the gloom! Cheers…CB!

  • Feels normal again

23 PAX made their way out to Dogpile to safely gather in Phase 2. Temps in the 60s with low humidity made it for perfect beatdown conditions.

COP: SSH, Don Qs, Imperial walkers, Merkins, Flutterkicks, Scorpion Kicks.

Mosey down to Backstage block storage to retrieve and drop blocks. Leave them there, down to Rusty Cage. Triple check of: Burp-Ups, Dips, and run to blocks – 10 Squats, then back.

Head down Pipe Loop for a Proper Dora: 10 Merkins, 20 WWIIs, 30 Jump Squats. Then up the hill back to Rugby. BoxCutters and Squats to gather the pax. Bottom of Rugby partner up: Bear Crawl catch me if you can. 3 burpees then run up to crawler. Back to flag then quick mary til we hit 7:00.

NMS: Today felt like Dogpile like normal for the first time in a while. New Market back in the mix with their mumbechatter (really just Wilson) and a large PAX over 20.

Hitchhiker took a spill on the pipe loop and several PAX helped him up and out. Flipper busted out some Mr. Miagi magic on his foot and looks like he’ll be ok. Rumor has it Bodos also blessed Hitch’s ankle with holy water since he disappeared. Qs feel like they have to use the PipeLoop in the limited summer weeks where we have daylight but then remember how much it sucks. 5 trips through per PAX was enough.

Good to have some newer PAX out like Zillow and Winehouse. YHC promptly was told to shave of the stache upon his arrive home.

  • Clear Direction

21 men came together to fight the tyranny of the Fart Sack and the Humidity. With temps sunny and 70, the PAX launched on time at 06:00.

Mosey to the Great Lawn for the COP

    SSHs
    IW’s
    Swirly’s Dead Man Hang
Right over left, then left over right
    Rosalitas
    Hello Dolly
    Scorpion Kicks
    HRMs

Mosey to the Ha’ Penny Stage and grab a coupon for Touch-a-Tree

Round of 10…Partner 1 touches 10 trees while carrying his block above his head. Partner two completes WWIIs while holding block on chest. Variety of planking and Al Gore for The Six.

Round of 8…more of the same

    Round of 6…Alabama prom dates.

    Round of 4…burpees.

    Round of 2…burpees.

Curls for The Six on the last round.

Replace the blocks and Mosey to the Amphitheater for:

    Decline Merkins x5
    V-Ups x5

The Q received a request to go back up, so the PAX did 10 flutter kicks (x4 count) on each step up.

    Mosey BTTF

    NMS:

Solid work today, fellas. The Humidity was strong in The Gloom today. And, apparently gravity strongly attracts cinderblocks to Earth.

Kotters to Winehouse who has been taking care of multiple little kiddos and DTH who deported from Papua New Guinea for recruiting for a Cult. Nice to have you all back. (Side note: Anyone else notice DTH sporting a big Grin during the APDs? Imagine if his family had NOT been in PNG with him.)

This week, Hardywood supplied YHC with the following Fun Facts:

    1. The largest source of revenue for Harvard Business School is publishing (MBA teaching is 4th).
    2. HBS publishes an official set of Directions for Touch-a-Tree,

The PAX were provided a copy of said directions, gratis, today. TYA has offered laminating services during office hours.

    Announcements:

Fourth of July Convergence at No Toll. 6 a.m.

Please keep Flatline in your thoughts. His grandmother passed away this week. Service is today.

Please also keep Profit in your prayers. He had a serious accident this week in North Carolina. While it is expected he will pull through, his injuries are extensive, and the road to full health will be a long one.

Lastly, YHC asks the PAX to generate Direction for themselves, then use that to hold yourself Accountable. All the laws and all the programs society generates to help reform and grow can have their impact. Your Impact comes through each individual interaction. When you interact with people, use your eyes, your smile, and your investment in challenging yourself to achieve better outcomes.

Remember that today is the 76th Anniversary of D-Day. Men of all colors exposed themselves as a segregated Army (and Navy) blazed a path to a better world for all of us. Regardless of the messages you hear, the arch of the past 76 years has been overwhelmingly positive. And, surely, there is work to do.

  • Mo Bamboo

Two groups of 10 (and TYA) posted to see Vinny off to Charlottesville (at least that is what I am going with). The encore:

COP: Mosey to and around the traffic circle to enjoy the new (and poorly laid) asphalt. Introduce myself to the audience, and away we go. Swirly Hangs x 10 / Helicopters x 10 / LBCs x 10 / Scorpion Kicks x 10.

Beast Theater: Mosey to our coupon dealer Penny to negotiate some coupons. Back down to the amphitheater for Beast Theater. On the way up the stairs, carry the coupon as you wish. On the way down, carry it above your head. Exercises at the 5th, 10th and 15th steps on the way up and back down (al la the Beast).

Round 1: Curls Round 2: Squats Round 3: Incline Merkins. Round 4: V-ups Round 5: Decline Merkins Round 6: Chuck Norris Merkins

Whatchamacallits (Jack Webbs): You know the drill. 1 to 10 / 4 to 40.

Merkin Egg Toss (Field Day was supposed to be today): Partner up. Go until we declare a winner. Variety Merkins x 10 in between rounds. Burpees included. Congrats to Wojo and Bodos for their asterisk Field Day victory, 2020.

6MOM: 100 Flutter Kicks (as if you didn’t see that coming).

    TYA took us out.

NMS: This won’t serve as my “see you later” post (more to come), but to those of you who were there today, thank you. It really meant a lot. TYA really brought us home with his words. Please be reminded of them minute by minute. Hour by hour. Day by day. We are all brothers. But that only matters if we support each other, as brothers. Life matters. Respect matters. Civility matters. Let’s all be stewards for good and decency.

Awkward Transition / Observations: Hardywood is a soon to be Alpaca Farmer. Upchuck is a parking lot claims adjuster. Flatline is the real life Greg Faulker. Bone Thugs has coupons for llama insemination products. Doublemint is Minny Vinny. Gomer Pyle and I share an affinity for the general public. Wojo’s fiancé would get along well with Shakedown. Bodos YoYos. Handshake drinks White Claw out of bourbon bottles – allegedly. TYA can’t see, but man is he a looker. Circle K knows all about Biscuitville. Gumbo is alive and well. Rosie needs a leisure suit. Goldberg bought his wagon from the set designer of Breaking Bad. Slippin Jimmy loves Pandas.

Time for a 2 hour nap.

    -Compton Vinny

  • Mem Day Murph at the Dogpile

Meet at the parking lot at 06:00. We’ll mosey over to the field (where we’ll find everyone’s deflated hearts and legs from Circle K’s Saturday beatdown) for some armcircles and legwarmers, then the pain begins. 1 mile – mapped out: up the field, left on Garrett, down 3 blocks, right on S. Belmont, up 4 blocks, right on Condie, down 3 blocks, right on blanton and straight shot down the right side of the Carillon down to the Rusty Cage for 1.0 mile. Proceed to 100 pullups, 200 Merkins, 300 air squats, all in respectable form but in any division you can handle. 20 sets of “Cindy’s” is common. Then reverse course of the original mile to complete at the starting spot. I have 24 bottles of water that I am chilling overnight and 8 resistance bands of varying weight to finish out those pullups if you NEED them. Give thanks for the breath we have to breathe, the bodies that we have to move, and the Grace and freedom that we receive with the price of others’ blood. SYITG!!!

NMS : Gents, it was an honor to lead this morning. I never tire of associating mysle fwith the finest group pf gents on all of Richmond. As YHC mentioned this morning, remember Memorial Day is about the men and women who have sacrificed their lives for ours. Say that out loud, EVERY DAY. We live in a world of luxury compared to most around us, and we should not take it granted. If you have a minute, click the following link from Jocko Willink, who has experienced the loss of a brother firsthand. TYA and I listened to Jocko speak this past winter and somebody asked him what he could about his time in the SEALS and he answered that he wished, “They could all have come home together”

Happy Memorial Day Weekend and remember what Memorial Day is meant to symbolize.

    Circle K out.
