  • SOJ Vanquishes the Murder Bunny in Gruesome Hand to Hand Combat

Coconut husk hoofbeats echoed across the misty gloom as fourteen Knights of the South assembled for battle. Their enemy – the indomitable Murder Bunny – known across all the land for mercilessly ripping men’s vertebrae asunder. Leering vultures hungrily awaiting the expected outcome witnessed the battle scene as follows:

    • !!!VICTORY IS OURS!!! The SOJ Knights have won the day, completing the final 2020 IPC with phenomenal effort and overall times. Hardywood led the way with a Herculean time of 24:42!!! Tclaps brother (and thanks for being YHC’s rabbit!) As it stands, SOJ has officially decided the Murder Bunny will be fondly remembered as a conquered foe, never to raise it’s ugly head again… (somewhere a bunch of SOJ’s guys are desperately knocking on the nearest wood…). YHC and Boberry have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to facilitate the IPC this year, and suspect the RVA PAX have officially staked claim in the winner’s circle! Keep on the lookout for final scores! YHC, Dr Tryhard
  • Welcoming the IPC to fall

A dozen strong came out to tackle the last week of the Iron Pax Challenge. A brisk 46 degrees and soggy fields met the pax on the upper baseball field as we have offically hit fall this morning.

Week 4 was: 10 Block Burpees, 25 yard Murder Bunny, stop for 25 Thrusters, carry block back.

Round 2: 10 more burpees, 50 yard Murder bunny then 50 Alternating Merkins. Carry coupon back.

Round 3: 10 burpees, 75 yard murder bunny then 75 Curl-Presses. Back to start.

Final Round: 10 Burpees, 100 yard muder bunny then 100 Heel touches. Back then finish with 10 final burpees.

NMS: Glad this and all 4 weeks are over. This one at least kept us on the field and allowed for some mumblechatter. The HRB-IPC setup committee deemed the murder bunny too destructive for the main football field so we opted for the upper field, with less light and taller grass.

Shiplap set the pace with 26:25 and several others bested 30 minutes. Greenbow knocked it out in 38 minutes wanting to find out what all this IPC stuff was about. The smoker of the day was the 50 alternating merkins. Those ate up a lot of time. Doing them with soaked shoes and cold hands made them all the more fun.

Several of the PAX made it through all 4 weeks of IPC at HBR. Atilla took a day off since his back was already protesting the Murder Bunnies after watching the video. YHC did not do the IPC last year but was glad so many RVA took it on this year. Besides the DaVille guys using bricks for cinder blocks and NoToll calling the Soccer field a 1/4 mile this was fun to push across the region and F3 nation as a whole. Here’s to the IPC again next year!

Now who has the guts to take the Q next week at HBR and make us carry around our new Cinderblocks around the AO for 45 minutes?

PS – No Cinder blocks were harmed in the week 4 IPC or the writing of this backblast.

  • Never Lost A Tailgate

5 men arrived intent on conquering the day. 3 were aware the IRON PAX Challenge week 3 was the planned workout for the day. The 2 that were not still stayed. We all completed the challenge. It was great to be out there and help us push each other. TCLAPS to Hardywood, Tobit, Bullseye and Gumbo for getting some hard work done! This was two times completing the IRON PAX Challenge this week for Tobit and Bullseye!

    NMM

Music for the day was YHC’s Ultimate Tailgate Mix. As an ECU fan and graduate: we may not always win the game, but we always win the pre game tailgate.

  • Iron PAX Challenge: Week 3: Attempt 1

17 came to NoToll on Tuesday. We did the Iron PAX challenge. We all pushed each other to be better! We listened to music: that days playlist was YHC’s running mix. Apparently that means electronic music. Welcome to Club Boberry.

    NMS:
The IPC doesn’t leave much room for mubblechatter so the moleskin is typically hard to put out there… typically random ramblings of strange thoughts that happen when its 530 in the morning and you are oxygen deprived from doing something your body will hate you for later. I will spare you all from the wonderings i had this morning while trying to catch Probation on the track as to why i have the channels i do with the free to air antenna… but i can tell you that for some random reason.. i like Grizzly Adams again. 🙂 Another thing… does any one have any idea why the 1st Merkin is the hardest when doing a ladder. The set of 40; i had to talk myself into that 1st one like a drunk sailor trying to coach his 1st step after getting up off the bar stool… I would imagine after the 90 Squats we all looked like drunk sailors trying to run that track…. oh yeah… who thought it was a good idea to make a track out of tiny sand sized rocks.. that crap is like sandpaper if you get a piece in your sock. Glad i didnt get a piece in my sock, but sure thought of it while i was pacing Light House on the 1st lap. Wait a minute?!?!?! where is Handshake? he was on the text tread yesterday.. didnt see him at HoeDown either… Bet he was watching football to late. Dang… Is that Bodos and GomerPyle already on the other side of the track.. we just started??!?!?!? i wonder if they got rocks in their socks. Are spots normal when you are doing 80 merkins after sprinting a 400? I think they are.. it must be the oxygen i’m not getting and yet still think it is a good idea to keep going when the body is screaming stop.. ok.. maybe a little break… stop it self.. no breaks until you are done.
OOOPs.. sorry about the random thoughts..

    Until next time.

This week was nice change of pace from last week’s complex workout. YHC completed it downrange but from the sounds of it, the Daville PAX was glad when it was over.

The PAX this morning crushed it average around 35 minute pace. T-Claps to Phonics for leading the PAX finishing around 31 minutes. Glad to have you back in the gloom this morning brother

Strong showing from Mud Face this morning. He got early to get started and completed around the same time as the rest. Also YHC saw some running skills from him. Great job!

    NMM

This was easily the hardest workout YHC has completed since joining F3. Every PAX who posted pushed themselves and got better. This was truly a You Against Your workout where each man should be proud of what he accomplished. TCLAPS to Speedo for posting after a 4 year break! The humor of the PAX is unparalleled. Orange Crush was disappointed there was no Cyndi Lauper on the mix. The music took Mr. Roper back to his heyday on the roller skating rink in his canadian tuxedo.

  • IPC Downrange

1 solo Davillian showed up at F3 Grand Strand’s Wednesday AO The Oyster. YHC found the AO empty at 5:55 (6am start time). After waiting to 6:05 with no signs of a PAX, YHC headed by to his Beach house for the week, grab Grandpa Duke (Father-in-law) who has been YHC’s proctor for the IPC the last couple year when there is no PAX around.

We headed back out to the AO (which is a baseball field) and got things started

    MOLESKIN

Since YHC knew there was a good chance that this week’s challenge would require a coupon, I made sure to bring with my on vaca a 35lb KB. Well turns out I would needed.

YHC had to make some changes. Since I went about this this solo with just a proctor made some changes. Still used a SF but didn’t have a cones so simply did my best on the measure as well. 400M was easy since I do have a watch

Got 3 rounds completed and w/ one more set of Merkins/Thrusters as well

This once was tough but IPC should be

8 men showed up to take on the Iron Pax Challenge Week 2. Not much mumble chatter there was work to do. Strong work by all.

It was an honor to lead

  • IPC Week 2 at HBR

A full dozen came out to Heartbreak Ridge. Most knew what was in store while Scrum was hoping for a chance to ease back into the Gloom – clearly picking the wrong day to Kotters. No COP, straight into the fun:

IPC Week 2: Run a lap. 10 Thrusters at the flag then off to Spot 1: 25 Derkins. Rifle carry between all stations. Alternate to flag & 10 Thrusters then stations 2-5 were: Block Burpees, Squats, Block Swings, Vertical press, Alpos – high pull variation with block. Finish back at flag with 10 thrusters. That is 1 round and 220 Reps. Repeato until time called at 43 minutes. Deposit coupons under bleachers for future use. Atilla then took us out.

NMS: Strong work by all this morning. Gypsy took off from the start and set the pace. All PAX pushed it. Most PAX hit 2 full laps so 440 reps or more. Gypsy hit 502. YHC gladly was on the Thrusters right before Block burpees when time was called since another round would have killed YHC. Good to have Splinter join us, he was super excited for this IPC beatdown while Scrum showed up after a posting hiatus having no idea what he was walking in to.

Bodos was the first and only PAX member to break his coupon, but manned up and switched with someone to keep up the challenge as he was on Gypsy’s heels. No Tater this morning as he took the morning off after leading yesterday. T-Claps to Gypsy for arriving early to help YHC setup.

Announcements: Drive Shack HH this Friday at 6:00. Ms welcome. F3RVA retreat 10/3 weekend.
