Circle clean and jerk
YHC hadn’t posted to MANNdate in a while so I took the opportunity to Q this week. YHC thought of a new routine that looked good on paper. The PAX was going to be the guinea pigs.
- COP
- Mosey around bus loop to front of school
- SSH x 20
- Invisible jump ropes
- Helicopters x 10
- Arm circles x 10 small, x 5 big
- DQs x 10
- Imp. walkers x 10
- Copperhead squats x 10
- HRMs x 10
- Reverse snowangels x 10
- The circle – The pax formed a circle, the Q calls out an exercise and each person in the circle does 1 rep of that exercise starting with the Q then the next man does 1 rep and on and on around the circle until we cumulatively complete 100 reps. The exercises were:
- Shoulder press
- Goblet squats
- Lawn mowers (100 each arm)
- WWIIs
- bench presses
- Curls
- Halos
- Demon crushers
- Snatches (50 each arm)
- 1 MoM and some light stretching.
- Numberama, namerama, No Idea took us out.
- Notes:
- Congrats to Corned Beef’s daughter for getting into Virginia Tech. Go Hokies!!!
- Glad to see No Idea back.

The Q sheet said Bulkhead had this morning, but at 5:32 there was no Bulkhead, so hot potato time. Mumblechatter around investments (we both have some), kids (we both have some), etc.
As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing

7 days late and 7 minutes short

YHC planned this workout for last week, 10/27, as the New York subway started operation that day in 1904. All the reps corresponded (with creative math) to numbers related to the subway.
Original line had 28 stations, now there are 26 lines. The longest line is 32 miles long, and the subway runs 24 hours/day, 7 days/week. In 1968, operation was taken over by the Mass Transit Authority (MTA), add 1+9+6+8, you get 24. The first line was 9 miles long, and the subway now serves 4.5 million people daily (4×5=20). Add in all those LBC’s, plus the ones we did in COP, you get 472 (for those scoring at home, or if you are alone), which is the number of current stations in the whole system.
YHC wasn’t feeling well last week, prompting a hot potato by the PAX, was glad to Q the workout this week, a mere 7 days late. It didn’t take as much time as anticipated, ending at 6:08, so we stretched for a bit. YHC appreciates Mr. Holland loaning me his 25 pound KB for some of the exercises (lower back was acting up), and we both think the halos to front raise is a great exercise that really sucks!
As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing….

Not another IPC
YHC hadn’t been to an F3 workout in a while due to work travel, fighting a little flu and to avoid some of the crazy IPC workouts. So it was time to take the Q for Manndate and do a non-IPC workout. YHC went to the old reliable deck of cards.
- COP
- Lap around the parking lot
- SSH x 20
- Imperial Walkers x 10
- Arm circles x 10 small + 5 big; reverse
- Helicopters x 10
- Don Quixotes x 10
- HRMs x 10
- Copperhead squats x 10
- House of Cards – each PAX member pulls a card, all the PAX does all the number of reps on the cards. The PAX runs a lap around parking lot. Rinse and repeat. The exercises were:
- Spades – Goblet squats
- Clubs – KB lawn mowers
- Hearts – KB swings
- Diamonds – KB sit-up presses
- Jokers – Dealers choice
- Totals were: Goblet squats x 64, KB lawn mowers x 75, KB sit-up presses x 94, KB swings x 55, Joker 1 overhead presses x 25, Joker 2 around the world x 26
- Notes:
- Good debate about IPCs (tough vs. crazy) and other mumble chatter. It was good to post again, starting the day with an F3 workout makes the day so much better. Hard work was put in by all.

Twenty two on the 22nd
2 Davillians escaped the fartsack to hoist some iron on a cool, misty morning.
COP– one lap around the bus loop, then SSH, DQ, helicopters, LBC, HRM, Russian soldiers
The Thang
1st set of 11’s-skull crushers, lunge to other curb, goblet squats
2nd set of 11’s-sit up press, walk to other curb, bicep curls
2 minutes of stretching
numberama, namerama, YHC took us out
NMS
YHC almost didn’t escape the fartsack this morning, and ran about a minute late to the AO, finding a lone car there upon arrival. Since neither YHC nor Mr. Holland had taken the Q, it became a hot potato, thus the 2 11’s, equaling 22 on the 22nd. Mumblechatter was about sentinel events in our childhood, for YHC it was the Challenger explosion, for Mr. Holland, 9/11. We also delved into the value of bunk beds to bring siblings closer together–deep thoughts….
We agreed that we never regret coming to F3, the only regret is the days we miss it.
As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing….
