It was a swampy start to the day and half the guys wanted brocode and the others wanted tempo work – so we split up and did both.
And then we were done.

Hills’ hills
After joking with BigRig and Boberry that nine 60-second hill repeats seemed wimpy, YHC convinced 2 of the 3 runners to do a hill test of our own.
Bullseye, Greenbow and YHC hit the block for a warmup and converged at the bottom of Mt. Midlo. After four 90-second Mt Midlo repeats, we were spent! We then hit the block for a cool down where Doozy passed us, blasting some late-90’s boy band jams, working his way toward 6+. We gathered at the (non-existent) flag to close out.
Thanks for the push, gents – it was good to rev the RPMs.Announcements: YHC needs to pick an August date for the homegrown half. If you haven’t started training – you should!

PR-ecipitation Punisher
A couple of stallions joined YHC as he kicked off training to PR his mile time by year end. As the pax joked ‘I think we’re getting wet,’ the downpour turned torrential. We did brocode to the Midlo High track, then it was each man for himself for 800 repeats, then back to the flag – all totaling about 4.5 miles of exhaustion.
Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out. Prayers for Hermey’s upcoming surgery.
We immediately scattered like water drops on a hot skillet, as if the rain could get us any more wet.

solo MoT
Knocked out a traditional route. Took a few minutes to walk and read some of the local historical markers.

“D.A.B” run
DAB: Not the gen Z dance movement or the apparent reference to this. I made up a new term for our “down and back” run. Today, we had an empty Q sheet and a Rosie with angry knees. I quickly whipped up this run (basically MOT towards Timberwolf via Woolridge and Charter colony).
I think Doozy gets the prize for almost making it to Timberwolf. 2nd place goes to a pair of squirrels (Tobit, yes that Tobit and 100 percent Rosetta). The Duke and I had a nice conversation about wrestling, fatherhood (M is expecting and due in two months), staying in shape. We put in 4.8 miles at around a 9:10 pace (pretty happy with that).
Prayers for all our wild and wonderful kids — that they stay safe and have fun during these summer months.
Special prayers for Draper as he works through a challenging season — as OC put it, it can feel like moving boulders. I’m grateful to Draper for sharing his story today. These honest conversations remind us that every one of us goes through highs and lows — and that’s not just normal, it’s human.
Draper took us out in prayer. BOLO for August home grown half.

We’re not going fast today
7 dudes in search of a Wednesday cruise found it! Nice meandering route around the pond, under the road and avoiding the big hills. Approx 4 miles in all. No one got lost and a good time was had by all, sharing tales of the century and upcoming graduations

BroCode
CSAUP training is in full swing and for the third week in a row, MOT hosted 11 studly gentlemen through 4+ miles of brocode running. Lots of mumblechatter. Lots of fun. Thanks Gents!

Preparation Day
The bat signal was called out for runners interested in the next great F3RVA CSAUP event. These men answered the call. Plan was a 4 mile route with the faster runners coming back for the six at each intersection. We got a nice cruise in with some guys pushing the pace when they felt the urge! Great work. If you are thinking about doing the century 2.0 on May 2-3 reach out to me!

Cookin’ with Rosie and Thaaaa Duke.
Crisp april morning, which seemed to keep the pollen at bay. Challenging, potentially foolish run: https://tinyurl.com/Tough-run.
I tried to maintain a lead over Rosie and The Duke, but of course Rosie defeated me by the time we arrived at the gravel road and steamed up the hill by the train tracks.
Respect to The Duke, who has done a bootcamp, KB and a run all his first week. Enjoyed some cofferama with The Duke post run.
Prayers for The Duke’s grandfather-in-law and Pax going through relationship struggles.
