  • Benchmark Glooming

1 big wood & water loving rodent emerged from the fart sack for an OTB Ruck & Run. First 45 mins was a 20 lb ruck followed by a benchmark run to prepare for next months Chesty Puller 11k in West Point. Hopefully we can get a few FNG’s on the F3 hook while there. Let me know if you want to join on Sat June 20th.

    Announcements-

I’ll be starting a ruck and audiobook listen where we can. Commando says he’s in. If you want to join let me know, we’ll be starting soon on the book Dialed In: Reaching Your Full Capacity As.A Man of God.

I’ll be Q’ing Mammoth Huevos tomorrow for Cinco De Mayo, come out for a good one!

The Q Sheet is looking sparse, make sure to take some Q spots. A wise man once said, “The sign of a healthy AO has guys filling the Q Sheet.”

Last but certainly not least! Choo Choo has his F3 2 year anniversary coming up soon, be on the look out for a celebratory workout coming your way!

  • Heart Rate Ruck

2 ruckin’ mammals were up bright and early for another 3 miles of extra credit! Commando made it back home from his work trip to Arkansas, nice to have him back! YHCs heart rate max gets to 200 during the ruck, not sure.

I’m grateful for Commandos company this morning!

  • Family Crew! 🍕

18 fine family folk convened for a family ruck/hike from and back to Bottoms Up Pizza venturing into the unknown! Literally! YHC had no clue where he was! 🤯 The 2.0’s had us outnumbered 11 to 7! We all survived the traffic, construction zones, hills and stairs! Shout out to House Party for helping YHC carry Augness Monster up and down the stairs! And to DTH for his navigational skills!

  • Ruckers get a Brazilian from The Flying Chad

An elite squad of heavily-laden ruckers converged at Ruckhenge for the first leg of our OTB adventure. Before we could even leave the lot, an FNG-to-be chased us down to get the download on F3 and assured us he’ll be joining us soon. En route to the railroad track a second FNG-to-be stopped the march to also get our info. Seems daytime rucks might just be a great recruiting tool! We traveled a total of about 2.2 miles, and YHC felt very much like a sorry pack mule carrying a cooler of beverages in addition to the usual 50 pound ruck. But we arrived exactly on time at Machismo’s 12 acre paradise, and promptly dropped rucks and crushed a beer.

For the second part of our adventure, Machismo marched the PAX back into the woods and toward the railroad track where a number of old, mostly rotten, railroad ties were piled up. Dookie briefly danced with a copperhead, but no harm to either dangerous creature transpired. So two mostly whole railroad ties were shouldered, 3 men to a caber, and carried back to the ranch. We deposited the cabers next to Machismo’s log splitting arena, and took turns competing with splitting speed and maul VS axe. The clock face splitting for speed was particularly fun, and Machismo leaving the ground to split a gnarly bit was epic (see picture) – no wood can resist the power of The Flying Chad. We concluded our pre-dinner activities by being entertained with DTH and Machismo’s efforts to walk a giant wooden spool (see picture).

For our third quarter of this epic event, the PAX pulled up camp chairs, cracked beers, told stories, and watched the meat wizard (Machsimo) go to work. With a smaller number of PAX than expected, these lucky few HIM’s engorged themselves with triple portions of tomahawk lamb steaks, sandwiches of Brazilian-style steak & chimichurri on toasted baguette, and a couple massive steaks provided by Dookie. After devouring some of the meat Purple Rain asked if Machismo would have him for his wife, but he was quickly declined. The PAX got to meet the lucky M toward the end of our dinner and she agreed Machismo’s meat is the best.

For our final leg of the OTB adventure, Machismo (and his sweet dog) led a very jolly and stuffed band of ruckers back through the darkening woods to Rockaway, and then even remained with the PAX for the full return journey back to Ruckhenge. YHC was under quite a bit of weight, and found the return trip, all up hill, to be quite daunting. At the time of this writing, YHC is completely stiff and sore all over. But the PAX was very encouraging and all HIM’s completed the 2.5 miles trek back to Einstein safely.

If you’ve read this far, thank you. Even with many weeks to plan/prepare, not many PAX prioritized participating in this epic event, and it’s likely even fewer will choose to read about what we’ve accomplished out there. As with all things in life – you’ll get out what you put in. Be there next time fellas!  Yours AYE, DTH

  • 2026 Ruck Mile Pile Up

Captain Commando Beaver hit the trails of Pine Fork ahead of the Lumberyard workout this gloom as we continue to pile on the ruck miles for this year! We are going for a record folks! Stay tuned!

  • Ruck Machines

2 Crunchy Critters emerged for a pre Lumberyard ruck with music blasting through the cab loud enough for the hood to hear! We logged another 3 miles to add to a strong 2026 year of rucking miles.

  • Family Time!

Today’s OTB family-friendly ruck gathered 29 cheerful hearts of all ages for ruck/hike through Larus Park. We started with a warmerama and stretching on the green space next to Gelati Celesti, and YHC even called a few reps in cadence. Before launching we covered safety rules for our big group including lots of kids, and then trekked a 2.5 mile loop around Larus with a merry band of high-energy boys leading the way the entire time. We stopped for the SIX a number of times including a refreshing splash in a creek and death-defying heights at the climbing rock, and made it back in just under 90 minutes. No injuries, bright sunshine, and fresh air! We topped it all off with a COT, a coolest gathered rock competition, and great conversations over ice cream. Until next time, Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • Extra Credit, Party of 3

3 go getters emerged from the gloom for a warm 3 mile ruck, some mumble chatter and a beautiful Saturday sunrise!

We would have loved to have Commando stick around for the bootcamp, however, being the high impact man he is went to support his M in helping set up a women’s ministry group for the day.

    thanks for the ruck men!

  • Over Achievers

2 HIMs emerged for an OTB pre Lumberyard Ruck or Run this gloom! We departed on our own journeys as 1 rucked and the other ran, but we got to enjoy the same beautiful sunrise and witness a sketchy car pull in and out of the park lot quickly. We met back up just in time to get after the main event at The Lumberyard!

  • Pull Ups and Dips are Back!

Pool Boy and Big Rig were back at Ecoff Elementary for the first pull up and dip session since the bars froze! Now that everything has thawed out, it should be a regular occurrence again.
