  • Stay Up Wind of Big Rig

2 Premature Accelerators launched from Rockwood Park for some training miles for their upcoming distance races. Boberry’s got his coming in just over a week, and YHC has his in just under 3 months.

We took to the hills of the Mayfair Estates neighborhood and got those miles in. Discussion was great as usual, and at one point led us to wondering how long the Farts tag has been available when posting Backblasts. Boberry’s sure that Draper was responsible for it.

We headed back to Rockwood for some hydration. YHC continued on to get some hilly miles, and Boberry went home to pickup Rubble to bring back for DTH’s Rocknroll beatdown.

  • [NewKent]Premature Burpees

A lot of mumble chatter this morning as 4 HIMs get back together in the gloom after what seemed for YHC to be a long week downrange away from the “LYard”. It’s good to be back with the fellas!

As the next song started up YHC had a flashback of DTH’s Rocking Around the Sweatfest Tree beatdown so we did Monkey Humpers throughout the song and Monkey rollovers during the chorus. The next song came in so we changed it up to Superman’s through the song and V Ups during the chorus.

Partner Up for indigenous tag. One PAX runs as partnering PAX begins with 5 Merkins. Catch up to PAX and they do 5 Merkins.

Circle up for a round of Mary, Freddie’s IC, Ellipticals IC, Penguins, Single Toe Touch Big Boys.

Be good fellas, See you in the gloom!

  • Watch out for that ice

6 HIMs came out for our Tuesday ruck ready to hit the (safe from ice) pavement. According to the boots, they were made for walking, and this is what they did.

Met at Rudy’s house and cheered him on as he emerged from the gloom. YHC jumped right in discussion about the Star on Ice and his latest Fail Army submission.

The Notre Dame guy and the Ohio State guy had a very civil conversation about the upcoming game – Midwest kindness at its finest I suppose.

we flew through RounTrey like The Freeze at Braves games, with Fandango pointing out every ice hazard in the neighborhood.

Calories were burned, football was discussed, and the tip of the day is watch Shrinking on Apple TV and Tires on Netflix.

  • Tiger King in Beast Mode

2 Pull Up Warriors ventured out to the Frozen Tundra of The Jungle Gym at Ecoff Elementary for another chilly version of the Pull Up and Dip training session.

After a brief warmarama Tiger King and myself started off with a pull up pyramid, then some Hollow Rocks.

Then over to the Dip bars where Tiger King gave the idea of putting a little extra forward lean on those dips. About 5 sets of 7-10

Back over for some band assisted pull ups max reps.
Then Tiger King, decided to throw in some narrow grip Jerkins. 3 sets.

Finish off with a set of dips, pull ups, and narrow grip Jerkins.

YHC was leading from the back this morning, as Tiger King has clearly gotten out of reach on the pull up bars. Look for a Q from Tiger King soon!

  • Snow on the trail

2 typically road running PAX met OTB to hit some snowy trails. Launch time was 6am from the Pump House. We took the River rock half route sans the Forrest Hill section, going all the way to the Mayo bridge and back down the flood wall to the buttermilk. Added a detour up the hill by the nickel bridge to hit some of Big Rig’s former stomping grounds. Finally tally was right at 9 miles in 2 hours. Pace was slow in places in order to avoid busting ass on the icy sections. Running in the snow was a blast. Beautiful weather and views! Big Rig unfortunately got a flat tire in the form of a twisted ankle. Prayers for a speedy recovery, doesn’t seem to be too bad hopefully. Great to get after it today, prep for both our races is going well!

  • [NewKent]Heat Wave!

it was 70 and sunny this gloom as 2 eastenders got started about 2 minutes late, but that’s alright, we paid the troll toll(bonus points if you can name that show) with 10 Burpees and kept the heart rates and sweats up until the clock ran out!

  • (NewKent) WetNWild

The YHC must have scared everyone off with saying we are going to have a wet and wild work out the night before. At 5:38 Wildwood rolled in to save the morning with all his ski gear on and ready to play. Well YHC changed his mind over night and wanted to stay dry!

  • You Can Dress Too Warm For This Weather

3 noble nomads embarked on a frozen ruck to ensure the hiking trail at the Lumberyard was blazed for the late morning risers.
Wildwood could nearly ice skate the trail in his sneakers. Choo Choo forgets his watch(terrible feeling if you like tracking your workouts). YHC dresses way too warm and discreetly pulls the tarp to cool down the nips!

Great ruck gentlemen, we trailblazed at least a minuscule section to make it back to the chariots on time.

Beaver F3ver and the Lumberjacks out!
