The runs
3 runners and 2 ruckers assembled to greet the day the only way you should greet the day.
That’s pretty much it. 4.25 miles or thereabouts for most of us. Speakeasy got more.
See you all in the gloom!

No headlamps required
6 runners and 1 walker started the day right. YHC took the Q to try something different. The PAX were good sports and went along with the plan.

Tempo Modulation
Four fine gentlemen converged on the lower Atlee parking lot a bit after the scheduled departure time. YHC was a bit late because he checked the upper parking lot first. Yardsale was a bit late because he wanted to skip ahead to Thursday or something. Yardsale continued the rucking he had started in Rutland. No one had a route in mind, so YHC led the PAX down into Giles.
The PAX looped around the very back of Giles. On the way back up the hill coming out of Giles, the PAX took a left on Airwell Ct. to pick up a trail around the pond. After this brief trail excursion the PAX left Giles and crossed Atlee Station Rd. at CMS. After a left turn the PAX took a right on Honey Meadows Rd. to loop around the school complex and back to the start.
YHC’s Garmin cadence suggests the temp was presto, but moderato feels more accurate given the humidity. Opus and Mr. Holland were wise enough to sprinkle in some andante, while YHC in a moment of inspiration or delusion included a touch of allegro moderato around the CMS track. Yardsale stuck to his andante pace except for a dramatic accelerando as he drove from Thursday’s AO to Tuesday’s.
YHC hit 7.18 miles, but that included running to and from the AO and continuing on during any andante periods. Opus and Mr. Holland probably got a bit more than 4 miles in. Yardsale rucked two AOs and used his car, so he probably bested all of us.
COT: Check calendars for October weekends for planned Atlee relay. Upcoming September Daville Takeover on a Thursday. Opus took us out.
The mumble chatter included several fun subjects such as travels in the west, especially Colorado. YHC foolishly had a bit of a music theory debate with two music teachers about time signatures. Readers can read this post in 3:4 and 6:8 time signatures and vote as to whether they can tell the difference.

The forgot Backblast
YHC forgot to recap the run from last Tuesday so here it is. 5 Davillians got after on a humid Tuesday in July. Route to us through Taylor Farms, Honey Meadows, Kings Charter, cross over Atlee Station onto the path then head to new enterance of Giles back up to the main enterance the back to the parking lot.
That was the 4+ mile loop. 5 miles added a loop around Summer Duck. COTU did a walk for a few miles

Shank is Back
YHC rolled in hot to see 2 runners onsite ready to roll and Shank rolled in for the morning run. Marco Polo had a great route suggestion going through the Giles development utilizing the trails and roads to get in a nice 4.75 mile route. As these guys are sub 8 and 9 minute milers and being hot YHC ran a slower pace to get in 4 miles for this morning.
Numberama, namerama Marco Polo took us out in prayer.
YHC was happy to see that Shank has returned to F3 RVA as it has been awhile since his last post when he did the Pump House run on Sunday last year. He also ran a leg of the Tomato run relay last year too. So welcome back Shank as we have been trading messages lately to get him to post again.
One of our Kings Charter Neighbors’ Wife has developed cancer again so we have prayers going out to this family. Great to see everyone this morning, have a great day everyone and I will see you in the gloom.
Cheers…CB

Pair Off
Eight upstanding citizens and a dog arrived at Atlee in the gloom, and at least six of them knew what was coming. Runners split based on pace: Marco Polo and Speakeasy in the lead, covering about 5 miles, Holland and Trout trotting along behind hitting 4. Ruckers included Yardsale and No Idea, joined by SOJer Jinxy and an FNG, COTU. Dunno how far they went, but they took their time getting back!
Welcome to the PAX COTU! He’s a real estate agent and talked up Hanover County in ways that would make one think Ashland really is the Center of the Universe. Keep an eye out for him Tuesdays and Thursdays!

Attack the day like we attacked the run
5 Davillians said no to the fart sack and got out for a run this morning.
Marco Polo went out on his own and got in a little over 5 miles
The rest of the PAX ran through Honey Meadows (including the trails) and Taylor Farm with a 5 minute run and 1 minute walk getting in 3.5 to 4 miles.
Speakeasy stayed with the rest of the PAX but ran the whole time and would circle back and ran his own version of fartleks
For YHC it was great to be back out after last posting 10 days ago. It was good to have Opus back out with us as well

A Bit Loopy
A PAX of three shook off the cobwebs, put out that smoldering sparkler from the night before, and laced up for YHC’s first F3 run in two months! The route was simple: do laps around the school complex. Speakeasy & Marco Polo got in three (plus some bus loop action) to round out to five miles. YHC is fantastically out of shape and out of practice, and settled for one lap running and one lap walking.
Great to be back out with you, gentlemen. Looking forward to getting back up to speed and distance that we were all used to!

A True Recovery Run
3 Davillians got out and enjoyed the cooler weather on this Tuesday morning for a recovery run. Marco Polo has been training hard for his marathon and YHC has been dealing with a sinus/ear infection so we truly took it like. The route was 4 miles with Marco Polo and Speakeasy getting in a little bit more after turning back for YHC.
T-Claps to Speakeasy for getting in an extra 3 miles this morning with run from his house and back
