  • Lonely is the Night

….According to Billy Squire on the radio this morning and verified by the skunk who left his fragrance wafting down River Road this morning. The nights may be lonely, but the roads were not. A shocking 50 degrees brought out the short sleeves and the chipping birds.

West on Grove, to Libbie, to Kensington, to Maple to head east on Patterson. New ground was covered with a detour on Glenburnie north of Patterson. 4s and 5s returned via Patterson to their respective cut through to the AO. 6s headed out Willow Lawn Dr to pick up Broad and head east.

    Marv took us out.

  • No Yo’s

At least four made their way around the greater school area for a RAMM run. YHC is late to posting, so let me know if I need to add anyone for big data purposes. There may have been a bike or two as well.

Shakedown and I chose the YoYo route as he hadn’t had the privilege to experience this Upchuck spectacular. Unfortunately there were no other yo’s to yoyo so we just went about our business. Saab and TYA handled their own routes.

COT took place in the new gazebo. Talks of the old days, laughs were had. Good times.

  • Yesterday’s News Tomorrow

Seven on foot and two on wheels leaned into the colder temps and hit some crisp road miles. Today’s route had some west on Grove, a little Patterson, Bromley was prominent in the route and a dip into Windsor Farms. Something for everyone.

    Announcements:

GrowRuck – Sign up for an adventure that you are not going to want to miss. See Slack for details.

HDHH – 1/17 – Slack will be the source for details.

YHC took us out. It was great to connect with Hitch over coffee afterwards.

  • Q*bert Makes a Comeback

Thirteen runners and two riders took advantage of a fantastic morning to get some exercise. No haiku run today as YHC beat Lockjaw to the signup sheet. Instead, a retry of the Q*bert run. Strange sounds were emitted from Sippy then off we went.

    The Route

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

  • No Tools No Backblast No More

4 gear-changing, long-ranging gentlemen of the triangular frame launched in the head-lamp lit darkness. Temperatures were 70 and sunny. According to the cameras monitoring the automated toll trackers on I-195, the following might have happened.

Route: east on Grove, south on Malvern, east on Cary, right towards Powhite, stay left on the ramp, east to I-95, then south to 895/VA-150, west/north on 150 to Huguenot, right onto Huguenot, continue onto Cary, and left onto Commonwealth. 45 minutes on the nose. 28 miles. Nice route today. Also, good, steady pace, and nice cadence of drafting/leading. Boom.

Numbers (with some prodding), Names (not associated with those same numbers), and Saab took us out.

    Announcement: See RAMM BB.

NMS: it’s hard to write a BB with massive bike mittens on. Apologies for any typos on the route, length, time, or directions. Again, the mittens. Good to see everyone today, and great to be back on track with the Backblasts.

As the weather gets cooler, we’ll re-start the practice of loading Pelotons onto the flatbed trailer and taking turns driving the truck around town while the other 3 guys make revolutions on the stationary bikes. Really a good option to keep fit in the winter, utilize the giant mittens, and get some good Facebook posts. There are some pretty sweet classes available. Come out anytime to join us.

Thanks to Bleeder for providing the Pelotons and to the Woodfin IT department for hard-wiring the bikes into the network.

    No Tools abides.

  • Mutiny on the Name-o-Rama

Run, Ruck, Walk, it didn’t matter. I bunch of fellas showed up in terrific weather for the activities at hand. Route is posted in slack.

Apparently some do not care for Number/Name-o-Rama in counterclockwise order….to the point of ignoring the Q and committing acts of treason. I am will not quit in my quest to conduct business in reverse-order…when I am so inclined.

Anyway, have a great weekend fellas, and thanks for your support…at least while it lasted.

  • Time Is Not Linear

Yeah, the routes today were a bit complex. The Pax came equipped with maps and readiness to explore roads otherwise not trodden. Cooler weather hopefully signal prime running conditions going forward.

    Byproduct took us out.

  • On The Road Again

I can’t wait to be on the road again…..and neither did some of Richmond finest PAX. We headed east on Grove, left on Rosneath, and right on Monument. Right turns were made on the Blvd, Strawberry, and Allen. Everyone took Floyd west to then pick up Grove.

    YHC took us out.

  • Hips Don’t Lie

Some dudes ran from Munford Friday morning. Grove route was chosen since there was no one on the Q sheet and we had some new RAMM folks show up. TYA confirmed the hips don’t lie, Saab abides.

There were others, some gear people, that I didn’t see or tally up. Apologies.
