Mary Munford Elementary

  • Jerk Store

The title was in reference to a comeback TYA had been working on for the interim week and homage to the classic Seinfeld episode.

West on Grove and a right on Bunting to Chantilly. Take a right on Monument and find your southbound cutover based on distance. 4s at Cleveland, 5s at Robinson, and 6s at Allen. Take to Grove and come on home.

    YHC took us out.

  • Traded the Bakery for Trash

Marv collected the names and YHC can’t remember very well. We had people at 530 looking for Lockjaw to no avail. Marv stepped up and called:

    The Route

    • North on Commonwealth to Monument
    • Right on Monument
    • U-turn somewhere along the way depending on distance (6s went to old stuart circle)
    • Left on Boulevard
    • Right on Cary
    • Smell Trash
    • Don’t smell Bread
    • Meander back to Mary

    Marv took us out.

    Moleskin

No Bread. Massive disappointment. We all blamed Marv.

Ping me on Slack and I’ll add your name.

  • Arctic Chill

11 polar bears came to walk, run, or pedal through some freezing weather. We kept the conversation brief at the end to return to the wrap cars, but the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror was definitely referenced.

    Shakedown took us out.

  • Faceplant Silencer

    Walk, Bike, Run…it didn’t matter….

Running Route: Head east on Grove, south on Greenway. Cross Cary to Ampthill. Take Ampthill to bottom where it turns to Paxton. Take Paxton up to Cary. Turn around and head back south on Paxton to Ampthill to Cary.

    4’s return on on Greenway

5’s and 6’s repeat Ampthill and Paxton. 5’s exit on the top of Paxton and take Tuckahoe back to Grove then return to Mary.

6’s head south on Paxton (again) then up Ampthill. Return on Greenway.

Title reflects what benefit a little (lot of) elevation will do on a run…

  • Fly By Night

Fifteen runners undaunted by winged nocturnal predators embarked on the streets of the Fan.

East on Grove to Antrim to Monument and continue heading east. 4s turn at the Blvd, 5s at Strawberry, and 6s at Stuart Circle. Everyone comes back on Monument and turns on Layfayette, to Grove.

Pretty straightforward. Faceplant did not get lost.

  • They shot Booboo

Seven Stallions hit the streets for ideal running weather. Down Grove, Nansemond, Stuart and east bound. Various turn arounds with Hanover as the return route.

Faceplant was stopping traffic being the cougar bait he is. Talk of owl strikes and antics to avoid injury.

    YHC took us out.

  • The In Law Suite

Twelve animals on 2 legs and one animal on 4 legs hit the gridded streets around Mary this AM for today’s iteration of RAMM. 5:00 runners launched at, well, 5:00, while the rest launched at 5:30. Only 6s and 4s today so here we go:

    The Route

    • North on Westmoreland then left on Patterson
    • Right on Willow Lawn
    • Right on Monument
    • Left on Staples Mill
    • Right on Fitz Hugh
    • Right on Antrim
    • Right on Grove
    • 6s take two detours off Antrim. First was a right on Augusta, left on Chantilly, left on Cutshaw. Second was a right on Grace, left on Blacker, left on Monument

    • Shakedown is painting with balls tomorrow at 10am. See him for details.

    Moleskin

YHC couldn’t help but inquire into in-law status after Faceplant put at teaser on Slack. Great mumblechatter ensued for what seemed like more than half the route. Good luck!

Welcome Mall Cop from Charlotte. Recently moved to Church Hill and can run anywhere from a 630 pace to a 1000 pace. Hope to see more of you in RVA.

    See y’all soon.

  • Moonwalking on the Sidewalk

Cool wind in anticipation of the hurricane.

    Predawn peace.

Pax members attempting to liberate unfortunate dog doo from his shoe.

The stage has been set for today’s run.

    The Route

West on Grove and a left on St Catherine’s lane cutting across Cary to Rio Vista. Hang the first right and back up Hampten Hill. Cross River and pick up Three Chopt to St Catherine’s Lane. Grove east to AO. 5s continue on to Saur turning left, left on Patterson, left on Commonwealth. 6s a left on Malvern, left on Monument, left on Commonwealth.

    Upchuck took us out.

Stay dry and warm this weekend!

  • Farmer Fran Runs on Clouds

An unknown number of participants started at various times and arrived at various times, all of which contributed to today’s RAMM (Gears). After Hitch scurried home to change into a long sleeve shirt, there were 4 of us for the proper 0530 launch time. Routes were declared as follows:

    Routes

    • East on Grove
    • 4s left on Hamilton, 6s left on Boulevard
    • Left on Patterson
    • Right on Commonwealth
    • Right on Monument
    • Left on Hamilton
    • Left on Broad (for 1 block) then continue west on Fitz-Hugh
    • Left on Commonwealth
    • BTTVSF

    Announcements

    • Big day in F3RVA tomorrow
      • 8Y Anniversary Convergence @0730 @Gridiron
      • TYA has the bridge, perhaps solo… depends on someone’s wife
      • Sit & Sip, see slack
    • Epic scrimmage between Marv & BTs 2.0 against YHCs 2.0 Sunday. It will be a beautiful day to play 2.

Numbers, names, and YHC took us out, just like the wind pulls us along.

    Moleskin

The air made a few of the PAX frisky this AM. One made reference to the rhythm method while another mentioned an injury from parkour (YHC heard hard core, which is a completely different type of activity). One clam was so happy he rubbed his chest (read nipples) to warm up post run, then graced us with a shirt to erase the memory.

Apologies to the 4 milers who apparently can’t follow directions. Glad you were still able to get 4 miles. Yep, that’s how we apologize in this here parts.

A flurry of Gears crew arrived right as YHC was leaving. Ping on slack if I missed you and you want credit.

    Sayonara.

  • The Big 3

Hitting the primary roads of the Fan, a merry group of 9 hit Grove, Hanover, and Floyd for miles today. 4s and 6s dominated the day with the majority of the usuals at the BRR.

    Good Luck Guys!

    Bone Thugs took us out.
