Again, it’s not that I’m lazy, it’s just that I don’t feel like posting most of the time.
Showed up on this day and we didn’t have a Q.
Unsure where the 4s and 5s went (possibly Reverse Carrilon).
6s went into Windsor Farms and then to Hillcrest…back through Windsor Farms. (We call the this the “Bodo’s Route” as Bodo’s one-time referenced it from the Pulpit on a Sunday morning. High praise right there.
Four weeks after a Q isn’t all that long to wait to post the wrap up. In my defense, we were without a sign-up Q, so YHC took the reigns.
There’s obviously some responsibility that I shirked while taking the reigns (“shirked” is a fun word to write, and say)…but here it is on a Saturday morning making sure everyone’s Big Data numbers stay true to form, as we know how important those are.
The Thang…
Reverse Carrilon (we got super creative)
Dueces everyone.
Perfect morning conditions for a run and RAMM was 9 strong. Early risers knocked out 8 miles and the 5:30 gang bravely set out towards TJ HS.
Warmup: Grove to Antrim, north on Antrim to Augusta, circle back and pick up the six. Gather at the Thomas Jefferson HS “track” (1/4 mile cinder path, formerly known as a track, now blanketed by grass)
Track Workout: 4 repeats of 3 min of strong effort followed by 2 min recovery jog, reverse direction half way through.
Cooldown: Back to Munford and circle back for the six.
Numberama, Namerama, Announcements & GP took us out
Thanks to all who were willing to humor me for something with “a little spice.” YHC was looking forward to a surprise workout to be revealed when the PAX arrived at the track; Marv was able to uncover my true intentions early and the beans were spilled. Until next time, GP

The PAX was surprised that Lockjaw was not a Q this morning. So the PAX came up with a creative route for the run – Patterson Route. Everyone started off on Grove Ave toward Three Chopt Rd, turned to Patterson Ave via St. Chris. 4 milers turned to Grove Ave at Westmoreland Ave, 5 milers turned at Malvern Ave, and 6 milers turned at N. Thompson St.
Thoughts and prayers for Upchuck’s friend.
Thursday lunch will resume at Upchuck’s house (?).
Thank you guys for the thoughtful housewarming gift this morning! How did I get so lucky to have friends like you guys? I’m grateful to be a part of F3RVA. You guys ROCK!
I will throw a housewarming party in July so please come and check out whether I will grill well or not. Karaoke is ready for singers. More details to come!
Fifteen assembled. They launched in two cohorts, some at 5, some at 5:30. Temps were precisely constant at 70, and conditions were sunny. They ran a route something like the following:
Right on Grove, left on Malvern.
4’s turn around at the top of the railroad bridge
5’s turn around at Laburnum
No 6’s today.
Return to base.
Number-am-a, Name-a-ram-a, Flatline took us out.
Announcements:
BRR moolah to Swiper, por favor.
Puppy Pile this weekend. Some disagreement as to who is Q’ing. Q sheet said Handshake, but he denies it.
Order a shirt. Last day is today.
NMS:
Good crowd on a great morning for running. Nice to see Lug Nut back out after several months. Good to see The Band slowly getting back together.
Hockey playoffs are upon us. Thus, the Hockey Stick Route.
Make it a great one, fellas.
14 mighty runners and bikers came out for a morning of cooler temperatures and Spring light.
Snake River was called and off we went. West on Grove, left on Granite and cross Cary. 4s go to the fork of the snake’s tongue, 5s do each tongue, and 6s do each tongue twice. Head back out on Granite to Patterson and take a right and a right on Westmoreland back to the AO.
TYA took us out.
Good luck to Bodos in his competition tomorrow. Too bad he couldn’t count the beautiful fly by the majestic Huron after COT.
Much better than ok due to scenery, flatness, and simplicity but OK due to the shape of the route’s similarity to the state of Oklahoma.
East on Grove. 4s turn left on Strawberry, 5s on Allen, and 6s on Harrison. Everyone turns left on Park and left on Nansemond with a final right on Grove to come back home.
Marv took us out today.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Bleeder and his family.
It was actually neither of us. Just the bouquet of smells emanating from the city streets around the stadium.
How we got there? The Carillon Route of course.
YHC took us out.
