Old Stony Point ruck

Seven soggy HIMs braved the Larus Park Swamp for a brisk 4 mile ruck. The local ducks thought we were part of their gaggle and decided to join us for coffee rama. We stretched our minds discussing world history as we powered our way through chapter 2 of The Uses of the Past.

6 Ruckers battled rain, mud, spider webs, and the gritty streets of Bon Air this morning. It was YHC’s first time Qing at Ruckhenge – what could go wrong? The route consisted of a loop through the neighborhood across Huguenot road. We ventured into Laurus Park and completed the Red Trail loop. Back into downtown Bon Air for some added mileage, then arriving at Einstein Bagels at exactly 6am. Overall, an excellent way to start the day!I had to bounce prior to the book discussion – but I am sure the fellas were digging deep into the Byzantine experience.

Eleven HIM’s converged at Ruckhenge in 1000% humidity to happily discover that a new DTH caber would accompany their morning ruck. This conifer log is about 8’ long and weighs about 80-100 pounds, dense with embedded sap. The PAX took turns in pairs to share her uncomfortable weight as we looped through Larus and local neighborhoods. (See pictures on Slack). Dealer was heard to exclaim “oof, that log just hits different!” An official name of this hefty new coupon is still in progress but current candidates like “Justinian” and “Sophia” hail from our new book “The Uses of the Past:…

15 men gathered at the Stony Point SC for this week’s edition of RH. Great to welcome some new pax and welcome back some others. Welcome to Lil Jon (FNG) too. We covered 3.3 miles of some streets and trails, and threw in a few off the cuff activities to remind the Freedom Ops lads of what’s in store come October. Not even a really sick tree could dampen the spirits of this group though as we returned for coffee and bagels, if just a little late. Summer Tour continues at Satan’s Hill Friday 6/20 Dookie VQ @ the Forge…

Eight amigos toted their rucks around Larus Park next to the Stony Point Shopping Center for a power-hour of good times and hard work. The majority of the PAX kept their biceps modestly covered but Purple Rain would not be denied on this glorious morning. Inspired by PR’s pythons, YHC led us through the trails in a snake-like pattern for today’s 3.34mile trek. All eight returned to the flag for COT and then shared a coffee at Einstein’s to discuss the end of Jordan Peterson’s 12 Rules for Life, ideas for the next book, and the English…naturally. Announcements:- Summer Tour…

What do you do when the guy who’s been holding your ruck gear no-shows? Load up an extra bag with a set of heavy bocce balls and roll out in style to the jolly cadence of balls clacking. Nice to catch up with PR and Scram and get to know Bru. Rocked out a little over 3 miles through Larus trails and Stony Point Fashion Park. Deep conversation followed at Einstein along theological lines. God is good all the time! Yours AYE! ~DTH

Definitely not sunny but not far off 70. We still had a great time despite the woods of Larus not providing much if any cover from the deluge. Was great to have 4 brothers out to ruck this morning. Scram provided the synopsis of the 10th Chapter of JPs 12 Rules For Life—Be precise in your speech. Till the next one. Summer tour is upon us. 45MOM for the next installment. Bring a towel for the ride home!

Three of the F3RVA pax made it out for this morning’s edition of RH. At 4:58am YHC was considering his options had 2 of his fellow ruckers not made an appearance. Thanks for the company! Given the conditions we headed into Larus where we were afforded some cover from the elements as we traversed red, green then blue and back to red trails. Till the next one.

A swarthy seven stomped around Bon Air in the post-rain gloom. Conditions were wet and nearly 70. We welcomed Bru and Coon Bait (downrange from F3 Bruco) for the first time! Some wanted to say Bru was the upgraded Sable, but we’ll wait until next week when the two Africans can square off and finally meet. We ventured all the way down McRae to Casa de Snuff where we stopped for a couple of stretches and the customary monkey humpers in the driveway. Sleep well sweet Snuff. From there we circled back through the Bon Air Baptist parking lot where…

4 of SOJs RH regulars pulled up to EBs at SP @ 4:59am meaning it was on. Light banter and the the joys of parenting kept us engaged as we explored some new territory. YHC really appreciates the opportunity to get together with a group of men who are looking to make each day a little better for their families, their friends and community. Coffeerama was a little less focused on our chapter this week but we had reviewed plenty of the content from past weeks as we caught up on our ruck. Till the next one. Announcements….check slack for…
