  • Band On The Run

15 strong came out on the first Saturday in June. It was a muggy 70 and sunny but that didn’t stop these HIM from putting in some work.

Started with a mosey to the next parking lot with a resistance band in hand, everyone wondering what I had in store for them. YHC got started with the warmarama

SSH, Don Quyotes, Imperial Walkers, Ukrainian Soldiers and 41 LBCs In Cadence.

Indigenous People’s Band on the Run

PAX moseys around the parking lots doing Moroccan Night Clubs, Arm Circles, and Raise the Roof while they get to take turns doing banded runs (one PAX provides the resistance, while another runs as hard as possible to the front under resistance)

    Four Corners Escalator

    1st corner 10 Merkins

    2nd corner 10 Merkins, 20 Groiners

    3rd corner 10 Merkins, 20 Groiners, 30 WW2s

    4th corner 10 Merkins, 20 Groiners, 30 WW2s, 40 SSH

    Triple Check

    To the concession stand

    Step Ups or Toe Dips

    Donkey Kicks

Run down the steps around and back up the steps

Mosey to the Monkey Bars in the woods for a Dora Murph

    PAX splits into 2 groups

One does exercise, other runs to the edge of the woods and back.

    PAX would collectively perform

    200 Pull-ups

    400 Merkins

    600 Squats

Walking lunges back to the edge of the woods, then Mosey to the bottom of the hill

    Catch Me If You Can

One PAX Broad jumps up the hill and the other runs to the top of the hill and back to partner and switch.

Repeato with Crawl Bear down the hill

Jail Break back up the hill and back to the flag.

Ring of Fire 41 Rep Edition

American Hammers, Merkins, Flutter Kicks, and 41 second plank.

    Names and Numbers

Lots of upcoming events, check Slack for details

Great group of men that I was blessed to lead today. This was my birthday Q, as I celebrate my 41st trip around the sun officially on Monday the 9th.

Also thanks to Mudslide for relinquishing the Q

  • Hard On For Morning Men

Seven gloom warriors shattered any remnant of lazy Saturday vibes by packing out heavy steel weights and speed rucking a few miles around Rockwoods Park in preparation for Big Rig’s birthday Q. Great to meet Cavity Search and share some missionary adventure stories. Gos is good all the time! Yours AYE, DTH

  • Ruck-a-ccino

7 HIMs broke the sound barrier today. Crabby was hitting the snooze button but eventually made it out to meet us. According to the woman who flicked us off, here’s what happened…

Met at stop sign and had an FNG join us! 6 originally but Crabby texted us so we made a rendezvous point down by the reservoir. Met up and swung by Toby’s house but he wasn’t there, so we went down past the gas station and doubled back.

Today’s conversation: scary/horror movies, the Zeissometer, Rudy’s Timberwolf record, work travel tips and tricks, swim lessons, and Brazilian meats in July

most stayed for extra credit and got 5 miles in. FNG coming Monday to get a name.

  • Unwritten Rules Violation

At 5:30 AM we opened the velvet rope and welcomed 8 men into the latest edition of Twin Team. The following is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure.

    100 Alabama Prom Dates

*I may have mixed a couple of these up

Back to the flag for 1 minute of stretching.

    Last Call took us out

Final Thoughts: Burpees? Running? Grass? All frowned upon at the Twin Team Lounge – who knew? Hoping to get off probation status in the near future. Great work by the PAX!
  • D-Day

Today is the 81st anniversary of D-Day. Of the 16.4 million who served in WWII, it’s estimated less than 60,000 are alive to tell the story. Truly an end of an era, so today we paid homage.

10 HIMs came out today wearing a ruck or weighted vest. They were met with a choice of coupons to carry as well, each member carrying 60-70 pounds for the entire workout. BLIMPS style workout up and down Satans Hill to honor the five beaches stormed: Utah, Juno, Gold, Sword, and Omaha.

we merged Sword and Omaha together for time, but 9 times up and down the hill with 10 reps of corresponding exercises at each turn.
Those were some tough steps today, proud of the 9 guys who joined me, we kicked the week of Crabby off right!

Father’s Day Q 6/15, Summer Tour Dogpile tomorrow, prayers for Futons wife traveling, happy birthday Woodsman (40!) and happy anniversary to Cookie (14 for sure this time) and Futon (11)

  • Hills’ hills

After joking with BigRig and Boberry that nine 60-second hill repeats seemed wimpy, YHC convinced 2 of the 3 runners to do a hill test of our own.

Bullseye, Greenbow and YHC hit the block for a warmup and converged at the bottom of Mt. Midlo. After four 90-second Mt Midlo repeats, we were spent! We then hit the block for a cool down where Doozy passed us, blasting some late-90’s boy band jams, working his way toward 6+. We gathered at the (non-existent) flag to close out.

Thanks for the push, gents – it was good to rev the RPMs.

Announcements: YHC needs to pick an August date for the homegrown half. If you haven’t started training – you should!

  • We rolled the dice- and it called for burpees

The Forge turned into a full-blown casino of pain this morning—except the house always wins, and the house wanted burpees. We started with a dice-rolling gauntlet where every number brought a new flavor of exercise, followed by sprint ladders that made sure no muscle was left behind. Just when PAX thought it was winding down, we hit the hills for bear crawls and heels to heaven.

    The Thang:

Warmerama: side straddle hops, ukranian soldiers, imperial squat walkers, cherry pickers, lbcs, alabama prom dates, roscoe’s mom

COP 1: Roll the dice: One PAX rolls oversized dice and runs a lap around bus loop carrying a cinder block. while first PAX runs, rest perform exercise that matched the number rolled. 1- merkins, 2- squats, 3- mountain climbers, 4- lbcs, 5- side straddle hops, 6 burpees. Repeat until all Pax rolled and run

COP 2: Sprint Ladders: (football field): Sprint 25 yards- 10 merkins and jog back. Sprint 50 yards- 15 squats jog back. sprint 75 yards, 20 lbcs, jog back, sprint 100 yards, 10 burpees jog back. Round 2 reverse- sprint 100 yards- 10 jump squats, sprint 75 yards 20 flutter kicks double count. Sprint 50 yards, 30 wide arm merkins. sprint 25 yards, 40 mountain climbers double count.

Count 3: Parking lot and hills: bear crawl up each hill segment. at each parking lot checking, starting with first one, 10 heels to heaven, increase each time by 5.

Announcements: Father’s day event hosted by DTH at the Forge; Thursday nights kids and fathers sports/activities at Machismo’s

Prayer requests: Prayer for L. Woods’ friend going through lung cancer.

  • Packin Balls

What do you do when the guy who’s been holding your ruck gear no-shows? Load up an extra bag with a set of heavy bocce balls and roll out in style to the jolly cadence of balls clacking. Nice to catch up with PR and Scram and get to know Bru. Rocked out a little over 3 miles through Larus trails and Stony Point Fashion Park. Deep conversation followed at Einstein along theological lines. God is good all the time! Yours AYE! ~DTH

  • Ruck-a-ccino

6 HIMs skipped the coffee on a warm morning and got to work! Rudy needed a minute so we did a quick lap around the block, rendezvoused, and off we went. Travelled to the depths of Bayfront, swung by Studfinder’s cul-de-sac, then up and around Alamo and back to the start. Just short of 3.5 miles.

Today we pondered how effective the Paw Patrol would be in real life without having thumbs; would Donald Duck really eat turkey on Thanksgiving; Matlock took notes of Rudy’s hot takes on the Broncos upcoming 6-11 season; and how we can use ice cream to get more guys out to F3

  • Pickle Pounders in the Kitchen

23 gloom studs saddled up for a ride on the pain train. After a 3 month hiatus serving abroad YHC was rearing to go. Here’s how we won the day:

    • Mosey onto the BBall Court and line up

    • LIFO Snuff arrived just in time to miss the 25 burpees, so we did x5 Body Builders (8-ct burpee) in his honor
    • Circle up for Variable IC reps
    • Warm? Let’s go wreck the shoulders…

    BTTF:

    • Mosey back through trails, stopping a fee times to lunge walk to wait for the Six

    • Announcerama (see Below)
    • Prayer

    Prayer Requests:

    • NTB Family Loss
    • Warby & Snuff traveling
    • DTH settling back in

NMS:  Beautiful cool bright morning to be back at it with this crowd of fine brothers. YHC’s slaughter start instructions were a little rusty, but recovered with the IC reps. Somebody has clearly been slipping HIM-enhancing drugs into L Woods water bottle – now it’s hard to keep up with that dude! Fantastic to see a bunch of Summer Tourists beef up the NoToll numbers – thx to Hutton for leading this. Highlight of the morning was Gumbo’s hilarious sexual innuendo on the Pickleball Court – he had us all rolling. Kudos to Heist for keeping the Six with us, and to Machismo for taking a moment to grease the palm of the new Park Supervisor. I’ve been all over the world, but you guys are all on the next level – LET’s GO!  Yours AYE! ~DTH
