Four tourists hit the Bullseye with today’s Tour de TwinTeam. Temps were mild and beachy breezy, chatter was strong, and the following was achieved with enthusiasm:

NMS:  The tour pays off with a WestHo clown car bringing the fun to TwinTeam this morning. The Catch Me Dora is YHC’s second novel routine for the week – and turned out to be an excellent chatter-friendly way to get to the top of TT. Handshake’s knowledge of local public school history is staggering. Mr Roger’s words of wisdom are always welcome. Appreciate you guys permitting me the honor to lead today! Yours AYE! ~DTH

The THANG – The PAX split into three teams but were also asked to keep track of their individual scores as well. YHC and Futon had big plans for this Olympics-style workout but we were quickly humbled by the time limit, rain and math that was required. Here’s what the PAX was able to squeeze in…

COP #1 – 60-second challenges: As many reps as possible in 60 seconds. 1 rep = 1 point

    • Merkins for 60 seconds
    • Jump Squats for 60 seconds
    • WW2’s for 60 seconds
    • Burpees for 60 seconds

COP #2 – Basketball: Each team took a hoop and each PAX member got (5) free throws attempts and (5) three point attempts. 1 bucket = 1 point

    • Baseline Bear Crawls at the end.

COP #3 – Wiffle Ball: Each team had a chance to play HR Derby while the other (2) teams ran laps around the tennis courts. (5) swings/PAX member. 1 HR = 10 points

    INDIVIDUAL RESULTS:

    • GOLD: E.F. Hutton (213 points)
    • SILVER: NTB (212 points)
    • BRONZE: Rudy (207 points)

    ANNOUNCEMENTS:

    • NEW AO ALERT! Wednesday, August 28th at Magnolia Green. Hit up Heist for details.

    PRAYERS/WINS

    • WIN – Futon’s mother-in-law received new treatment and is bouncing back!
    • PRAYER – McGruff’s father-in-law is in the hospital.

Today was my 100th F3 workout, Boys! I’m so thankful to be a part of this group of men and am always honored to have the chance to lead the PAX.

P.S. – NTB is lucky that basketball was only worth one point out there because YHC was GETTING BUCKETS!

  • Super.

The Bad Boys of Bon Air gathered in the gloom for the latest edition of the FORGE. The guy sleeping in his car would never be the same again………..Here is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure:

Mosey to the lower circle for Warm Up:

Ski Jumps, Imperial Walkers, Copper Head Squats, Mummy Kicks, Hand Release Merkins, Australian Snow Angels, LBC’s, Heels to Heaven.

    Exercise One: Merkin Wave
PAX circle up and and hold plank. Start with one merkin and work our way around the circle. Build up to 7. Shout out to Meatball for introducing this one.

    Exercise Two: Indigenous Super Mario’s

    Exercise Three: SUPER 11’s

Start in the Parking lot with One Jump Squat. Run and do 10 WWII Sit ups on the summit of Mt. Chaplain. Follow the normal 11’s pattern, but every ascent add one Burpee on the upper lot. Build up to 10.

Back to the Flag for Numbers, Names, Announcements (see Slack)/Prayer requests

    YHC took us out

Final thoughts: Great group today as we only had sporadic rain and some wind. We were able to prove that Mario Jumps do get hard if you go far enough and/or up a large hill. Super 11’s also was a crowd favorite?? Boberry’s mind was blown during Mummy Kicks. Nice seeing Blue Moon out again – he has been killing it on the Summer Tour. Strong work by all this morning!

  • State Farm and Pool Boy can’t seem to count past 12

3 Compadres made their way to The Bermuda Triangle for another test of strength and endurance. It was a steamy morning, and we had coupons aplenty.

We moseyed over to our coupon storage and grabbed a coupl cindies, then moseyed back to the grill next to the pavilion for a standard warmarama. State Farm, and Pool Boy really need to work on his counting past 12. For some reason, they gets lost after that point.

Next over to the restroom building for some donkey kicks before we get to use our toys. Sets of 5, 10, 15, and 20.

    Next for a triple check

1st exercise: WW4s (WW2 situps with a 20 lb slamball, and an overhead American Hammer)

    2nd: Goblet squats with kettlebell

Timer: Farmer’s carry 2 cindies to the tree and back. 10 Deficit Merkins between cindies every time you have to drop the cindies

After a couple of the Farmer carries, just holding the kettlebell became difficult. Killer grip workout.

    Return cindies home and bttf.

    31s until time expired

    21 merkins and 10 V ups

20 merkins 11 vups Etc. Etc

I must admit I was smoked and had to modify the merkins to failure very early on. State Farm was proudly stuck his chest out after he made it through the reps. Pool Boy continues to get stronger, and pushes himself harder each time out.

Love these Bermuda Boyz, even if they have trouble counting.

  • You were doing 10!?

YHC plus a faithful two ripped up the jungle gym this morning for another addition of pull up strength. Headlamp are back in style and lit up the following down

11s with toe touches and dips

reverse ladder pull-ups emom down from 6-7 reps. Then banded burnout.

way to put in the work boys!!

  • Ultimate Frisbee Tournament – Replay Booth needed?

29 HIM’s including 2 FNG’s showed up this morning to will their team to a championship in the first annual ultimate frisbee tournament. Here is what went down…

Warmarama- quick F3 mission and warmup ( SSH, dead man hang , merkins and light stretching) and the teams were selected.

First game was a shorter warmup game where the Foreskins prevailed over with some superior passing and long range caches on the back field. Meanwhile the team with an extra man decided to use them as a sub and prevailed with some short quick movement down the field.

Second game- The foreskins turned our to be to strong and took the championship. MVP performance from Snip with some insane passing skills.

YHC is thinking we need to run this back again sometime in the fall. We may need to start recruiting coaches and allow them to draft / recruit teams…NO NIL MONEY! thoughts?!

    Announcements-

  • Itty Bitty Biceps

15 grown boys got their week started off at The Alamo!

WARMARAMA – Moseyed to the other side of the horseshoe. Circled up, gave the F3 Mission and got into it…SSH’s, Dead Man Hang, Arm Circles, LBC’s, Rosco’s Mom, Merkins, Wilson’s Wife and Fudd’s Wife.

The THANG – Moseyed across the street, down the hill, through the tunnel and popped out the other side. On the way to the first site, we jazzed up the jog by rotating 90 degrees at every tree along the way. This created a mix of running, side-shuffling and bernie-ing.

COP 1: The PAX took their position around the perimeter of the newly-discovered playground. The monkey bars served as pull up bars for 2 PAX members at a time while rest of the PAX side-crawled around the perimeter with hands on the curb. Once the pull ups were complete, the PAX member would head to the back of the line and the next 2 popped up from the front for their turn on the monkey bars.

    • Round 1: (5) Pull Ups while PAX moved counter-clockwise around the perimeter.
    • Round 2: (5) Pull Ups while PAX moved clockwise around the perimeter.
    • Round 3: (5) Pull Ups while PAX executed incline/decline Merkins.

COP 2: After a quick mosey, YHC called for a BLIMP on the way back to the clubhouse.

    • B: (5) Berpies
    • L: (10) Lunges, Double-Count
    • I: (15) Imperial Walkers, Double-Count
    • M: (20) Merkins
    • P: (25) Plank Jacks

    COP 3: Ring of Fire!

    • Round 1: PAX hugged a tree while (10) various SQUAT exercises were completed.
    • Round 2: PAX completed various AB exercises.
    • Round 3: PAX completed various MERKIN’s.

Slow mosey back for numbers, names, announcements and prayers/wins.

    PRAYERS/WINS

    • WIN – Blacktop’s two sons were baptized yesterday! Let’s goooo!!!!

Thanks for letting me lead, Boys! I’m so thankful to be a part of this group of men. Stay strong!

  • The Second Annual Homegrown (you get what you pay for) Half (& 10K + 5K)

The long awaited weekend arrived without much fanfare. Just a bunch of blokes and a single lass gathered early at a bustling Robious Landing Park, while YHC & Rosie pulled in just in time (after a prolonged morning of sign placing and water station setup) to hit the roads at 6am.

This is what it looked like:

To make up for the new routes that reduced altitude gain, the Pax were asked to Bernie Sanders Twin Team and make it a proper CSAUP. Few felt obligated, so compliance was limited. SHAME!

The weak link for the day was the signage:

    • The meandering routes through multiple SOJ neighborhoods caused a bit of turmoil.
    • And despite the well-intentioned directional guidance via distance-colored signs, YHC planted them with one post instead of two, causing them to swivel and point in random directions throughout the course.
    • Finally, the Pax was forced to navigate a complicated signage landscape; choosing their adventure between the F3 Homegrown races, Dragon Boat Racing, and a Crab Feast put on by the American Legion.

Everyone made it back to the flag so we’ll consider it all a success.

A special thanks to all of the helpers:

    • Snacks & Breakfast: Gumbo
    • Route Masters: DTH (5K), Chaplain (10K), Boberry (1/2)
    • Water Donation: Honeymoon
    • Setup & General Guidance: Rosie

    And the finishers:

    • 10K – Mudslide, Wedding Singer, House Party, Katniss, Lighthouse, Gypsy, Chaplain, Pacer
    • 5K – DTH, Rosie, Corned Beef, Broadway, NTB, ChooChoo, Banksy, Spit (x4 kids), Greg (FNG & Friend of ChooChoo)
    • 1/2 – Doozy BoBerry, Anthrax, Tobit, Rosetta, Hardywood, Gumbo, Big Rig
    • Other: Don Draper – 9 miles, Christy – 10 miles

We didn’t do a COT since each race group finished at different times so the FNGs weren’t named (Christy & Greg)… but it was a jolly good time had by all, so thanks to everyone for making it out.

Let’s do it again next year!

Prayer Request:  My dad’s birthday is (was?) Tuesday, August 3rd, and it’s the first one without him. I’d definitely appreciate a few thoughts and prayers as I make my way through the week.

  • If I Own Morning Wood, I’ll Guess I’ll Own Broga, Too

ONE pax looked left, right, and left again before crossing over the walking path to do a few minutes of Broga, solo-style. Temperatures remained a constant 70 and sunny. According to two bucks (6 point and 10 point, YHC guesses who watched YHC on the prior run), the following might have happened.

Stretch. Stretch right. Stretch left. Chest stretch. Back Stretch. Leg Stretch. Other Leg Stretch. And, so forth. No shivasavan today. YHC didn’t want anyone calling 911 when they saw a sweaty, slightly overweight guy laying down in the parking lot, alone.

YHC notes: If the PAX desire to increase their feelings of self-importance, do Broga in a mostly-deserted parking lot during daylight while others walk by. Bystanders will watch you.

Number, name, and YHC took himself out.

NMS: 6:30, and still…zero PAX. That’s a second AO left unguarded / unattended in one day. With a new Q. Who is a first-time PAX at the AO. And, with that, the right to Q anytime YHC shows up going forward has been invoked in perpetuity.

As YHC mentioned in the Morning Wood BB, YHC thinks maybe 2016/17 or super early ‘18 was the last time we left a PAX to Q a new-to-them AO alone. Heaven’s Gate!

I guess I can Q it anytime I want now.

    UpChuck spits the bit.

  • Cindy Mile

YHC wanted to hold down Goyne Park this morning. And got a beatdown for it! A variation of Big Rigs previous brainstorms – the following Cindy mile was as brutal as it was fun. Strongly suggest trying for a morning wood in the future!

    • laps are .20 miles
    • Break/drop the Cindy – 10 mtn climbers
    • 5 pull-ups after each lap
    • Lap 1 – double farmers carry
    • Lap 2 – rifle carry
    • Lap 3 – single armed Cindy carry
    • Lap 4 – bicep curl carry
    • Lap 5 – farmers carry

finished at 6:45 in time to welcome EF Hutton for a guest Q and my grips were smoked!!
