We had 7 again post for this run ruck workout this week and 3 started at 5am for a Ruck workout and logged in 4 miles and 4 runners. Thursday was HUMID and sweaty for a 5:30am run. So much so YHC had to walk after 3 miles for about 4 minutes then finish getting in 4.3 miles going the BoJangles loop returning to the Rutland Clubhouse. Speakeasy and Hash stayed out front the entire run, Phonics hung back with YHC and we got this run in the books!

Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out in prayer.

Announcements – Stay tuned as we are planning a HDHH for this Thursday June 16, 2022.

  • 3, 2 Tomato Run and Ruck

YHC showed up with 2.0 to go for a run and met Speakeasy at the Rutland Clubhouse. Hash wanted to do an out and back run through Kings Charter for 5 miles and Speakeasy was up for the challenge. YHC decided the Taylor Farm 4 mile route was in order for this early morning run. The bridge over the train tracks is a great hill going out and returning! Great morning for a run!

No Idea and Mr Holland ruck walked 4 miles this morning.

Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out.

  • Giles bound

YHC rolled in without his 2.0 as he was tired from his coaching from the previous night. Roll in to the lot and meet 4 more to be one short of a six pack for an easy downhill Giles run. Speakeasy, Opus and Corned Beef logged in 4 miles for this route. Phonics and Marco Polo logged in 5 taking the BoJangle’s loop added to the route. No Idea walked is dog with his Ruck and logged in 3 miles.

Numberama, Namerama, YHC took us out in prayer.

  • “As long as they’re on a leash…”

3 runners and 2 ruckers plus a feline friend (Hershey) came out this morning to take on the day the right way!

Not sure where the ruckers went, but the runners hit about 4 miles in the Rutland neighborhood along with Cool Spring West.

Good times had by all. Yardsale says the greatest things that become backblast titles.

    Peace
    Opus

  • Can Navy Men Actually Swim?

Seven men traversed Rutland, Knollwood, and Cool Spring by foot either with or without weight at various speeds.  Runners covered roughly 4.7 miles.

    MOLESKIN

YHC appreciated the PAX’s willingness to recycle a known route as opposed to following YHC’s blind lead.  Enjoyed mumblechatter with Phonics and Bulkhead while Marco and Speakeasy pushed slightly ahead.  Discussion involved real estate in Southwest Virginia, Highland Springs Lacrosse and Swim Teams, economics of travel soccer in the US, the GOAT Olympian, and whether or not Navy men actually know how to swim.  Thanks for the hospitality!

So this week has been a week of tapering runs for the group with the Monument 10K wrapping up last weekend. YHC thought the reverse Giles loop would help in setting the pace as there are many long hills on this route. We seemed to divide with Marco Polo taking the lead, YHC, Bulkhead and Speakeasy running about an 8:40 min/mi pace and Opus and Mr Holland at about a 9 min/mile. Marco Polo did a Bojangles loop to finish with 5 miles and Remaining runners did 4.2 miles today.

We also had the Ruck group with Mudface, No Idea and Yardsale. We waited for them this morning as they started at 5am and rolled in just a little past 6:15 this morning. they did about 4 miles.

Numberama, Namerama Opus took us out in prayer

It was a pleasure to lead this morning gents, SYITG…Cheers, CB

  • What’s a recovery route?

5 Davillians arrived at Rutland clubhouse to see what Marco Polo had in mind for a “recovery run”

Marco Polo and YHC both signed up for the 10k Challenge for the monument 10k which meant we had to run a 10k twice within a week. YHC got his done last Saturday but Marco Polo ran his on Monday so today was a “recovery” run.

Bulkhead and Opus did their own thing since Bulkhead could only run for 30 mins

The rest of PAX got in the Rutland/Cool Spring Forest trail loop for 4.25 at 8:30 pace

Well I guess that is a “recovery” run when you run a 48:50 10k on Monday

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Running by Orange Moon Light

4 runner plus 2 ruckers got after it with a little orange moon light on the horizon.

Runner got start just after 5:30 with loop around Craney Island to get in around 3.25 to 3.5

Ruckers did their thing early with the 5am start time

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • Solo last taping run

YHC went out as a lone wolf last Thursday before the half marathon on Saturday. Knowing there would be hills during the race did the Giles hill loop and back for a 5k

    Great temp = great pace

    SPIT ON THAT!!

  • A Fab 5

5 Davillians enjoy a warm but windy Thursday morning for a run. Route included Rutland and the Cool Spring West loop to get in 4 miles

Great pace put in by all

    SPIT ON THAT!!
