  • Cool runnings

3 Davillians stumbled out of the fartsack and put in some miles this morning, and it seems like fall may be starting to make it’s presence known, as temps weren’t feeling bad at all.  YHC and Mudface did our normal ruck walk for a little over 3 miles, while Phonics put in a skosh over 5 miles of running.  YHC apologizes, but I have no clue about Phonic’s route.  Mudface and YHC did our typical behind the schools and into Honey Meadows loop, had to skip the trail today, unfortunately.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Tomato Burst

5 DaVillans arrived at a much needed cooler start of the week to get in some miles

    Routes were as follows:

Mudface and No Idea headed out for their 3 Mile ruck. They did hit the trails which they mentioned later was a bad idea.

Rounders, Mayhem, and YHC headed out onto Atlee Station and over the bridge. Mayhem got behind and decided to head back for a couple laps around the parking lot. Rounders and YHC turned back at the Bojangles, check on Mayhem, then headed for a loop around the schools and part of Honey Meadows to get close to 4.25 miles.

We got a late start to due to MudFace being a LIFO but still managed to keep a 8:40 pace.

Glad to have Rounders and Mayhem out for their first post at Tomato Run

  • Tomato Bro Code (sort of)

4 Runners and 2 Ruckers arrived at Atlee high school for the finally bro code run of the summer (or so we thought).

    This how it went down:

    ROUTES

Ruckers – Completed their normal route out to Honey Meadow and back for about 3 miles

Runners – Bridge is not completed so time for a new route. Leave the school head left onto Atlee Station, up and over the bridge left onto Barnfield Ln, left onto Rutlandshire Dr, right onto Combs Dr, Right onto Cool Spring Rd, Left into Cool Springs West, take a loop around the subdivision, head across Cool Spring Rd onto Hughesland Rd.

At this point we ran into some other F3 brothers that live in Rutland that have their own neighborhood run so we joined their PAX. Turn around on Hughesland Rd, Right onto Nolanwood Dr, Left onto Crestland Dr.

Then we hit the paved trail which leads us back into Cool Spring West. Did a loop on the trail then split off from the Rutland crew and headed right onto Cool Spring Rd. Back over the bridge to complete 5.5 miles and a little overtime run of 51 minutes

    MOLESKIN

Well this wasn’t YHC orginal plan for the run but sure did enjoyed it. Glad to have Honey Do out in Daville once. We will see you again on Friday from the sounds of it.

The plan was to have a Bro Code run today but Lab Rat’s fresh leg and Phonics pushing the pace, the run became a little longer and a little faster than what YHC had anticipate.

It was good to run with the Rutland crew for a little bit. This maybe become a regular things on Mondays (we will have to see).

Mumble chatter seemed to focus around the upcoming convergences and some of the PAX stories from recently tour stops. Also unanimous decision has been made to plan to stop by Bojangles for some BoBerry biscuits next time.

  • Check that AO box

4 men rejected the fartsack and figured out a new traffic pattern to make it to Tomato Run.

The two visitors put in 5.5 miles going behind the school and through Honey Meadows.  YHC and Mudface again missed the trails due to rain, and figured out we haven’t been able to do them at all this summer.  YHC got the Q because when Mudface asked “Who’s got the Q today?” YHC answered “I’ve got no idea” then immediately face palmed.  oh well.

It was good to see Rosie again and meet Swiper, hope to see you guys at the Convergence on Labor Day!

    No Idea

  • Solo Q

A PAX of one made it to Tomato Run this morning.  With Spit out of town and the fart sack claiming Mudface, YHC was on his own this morning.  I meandered down the back road behind the schools (trails were too slippery) and through Honey Meadows, before returning and going up the almost ready new road to see what I could see, totaling a little over 3 miles.

As usual I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • Dark Trails

Two runners and one rucker showed up to Tomato Run in the humidity ready to get some miles in.

Even though YHC had the Q, I was looking forward to discovering the Mechanicsville trails, so Spit functioned as trail guide for the day. 2 miles out on the trails, and 2 miles back on the roads and Spit and YHC finished up a few minutes early with 4 miles in the bag.

Mudface did his usual ruck, and was back to the shovel flag on time and we wrapped up with a quick namerama, numberama, and COT.

Thanks to Spit for slowing it down with me today and showing me the trails. Also, kudos to Mudface for hauling that rucksack around in the humidity this morning.

    Have an awesome week everyone!

  • Nobody saw us sweat

Yesterday’s nice, hot, weather yielded to today’s rain, with YHC and 3 PAX deciding this was no deterrent at all.

Kubota and Spit headed out through Honey Meadows, down the back trail to Kings Charter and then around the back way to the COT.  YHC and Mudface rucked it (he did, I didn’t) around the high school and middle school grounds.  The runners put in about 5 miles, the slower group about 3.

    NMS

Spit had planned to show other runners the trails today, but the weather got in the way. Another day, hopefully.  It started raining harder when YHC left home, and was a steady downpour at 5:30.  Everyone was pretty drenched within a few minutes, and Spit and Kubota even brought the headlamps.  Mudface hoisted the 35 pound ruck, which he reported felt a lot heavier by the end.  It was great to meet Kubota, thanks for making your way up to northern burbs!  We saw some lightening, but nothing too close.  YHC had also forgotten he signed up for the Q, so it was lead by example, not by plan.

As usual, I have No Idea what I’m doing.

  • …And the Creek Don’t Rise

Four intrepid Pax fought lightning, zero visibility, and torrential downpours to make it to Tomato Run.  Once to the AO, the rain held back for perfect running conditions.  We went through King’s Charter and picked up some trails returning us to the AO.  Mudface defied lightning and science to ruck with a pack full of steel plates.

    YHC took us out.

While the entire drive up 301 was washed out and zero visibility, the last quarter mile next to the construction was the most hazardous.  Driving along the jersey wall with the train on the other side, there was a nice cross current of flow coming through the wall.  Then you come to the deep water which was akin to a river crossing.  In the end, cars and SUVs made it through, though a longer, but dry, route was elected for the return trip south.

It was a great day for a run after the storm.  We had the subdivision to ourselves joined only by a few rabbits, and a frog or two.  We got to experience the rising creeks when traversing the trails, evidence of all the runoff from the recent deluge.

Thanks to Mudface and Phonics for showing us around and ensuring we weren’t the only ones posting on such a day.

    Time to Taper,

    Lockjaw

  • Babies, Bunnies, and Jason’s Deli

2 Warriors didn’t let the weekend hangout stop them from getting some miles in.

This is how it went down:

    ROUTE

Head out of the Atlee parking lot down the access toad and completed the Kings Charter loop and the Honey Meadows trail loop for 5.25 miles

    MOLESKIN

It was great to catch up with Hardywood this morning. Congrats on completing the Summer Tour before the 2.0’s arrival.

YHC counted 10 bunny sightings during the run this morning. So glad Hardywood got a glimpse of the DaVille wildlife.

At the end of the run, YHC and Hardywood figured out that we both had worked for Jason’s Deli in the pass. Both of us are glad that life has lead us to better pastures.

  • Trail Day

3 Davillians and 1 PAX on their summer tour, ventured out on this humid Monday morning.

    ROUTES

Singer and YHC headed to the Cross Country trails and through the Honey Meadow trails then back through the estates, then one lap around the gravel track before heading back to the parking lot for 4ish miles

Mudface (with his 30lb Ruck sack) and No Idea loop around Honey Meadows and back for 3ish miles

    MOLESKIN

Great to have Wedding Singer up in DaVille this morning. Mumble chatter was mainly about the fact both us dealing with a new born and a toddler as at the same. Also spent time getting to know each other better.

TClaps go out to Mudface carrying that ruck suck (sorry sack) in this humidity!
