  • Snuck in 2 miles at lounge

I role in at 5:25, to see some suspicious men scrambling with a coffee maker and a table. Apparently, we have some trick outlets at Bettie Weaver elementary. Guys began to circle around, 5:30 am, we set off at a gentlemanly pace towards the Blue Ribbon school of Excellence James River...

For the record, James River received this honor first:

🏆 Chesterfield County High Schools That Are National Blue Ribbon Schools

Midlothian High School2019 (National Blue Ribbon School)

James River High School1999–2000 (School of Excellence designation)

Cosby High School2015 (National Blue Ribbon School)

I digress, circle up at the front of the school for various dynamic stretches and made an attempt to avoid a cadence count.

COP 1 – Touch a tree by the band practice area (near the steel observatory tower). Pax instructed to select a leg exercise below ten reps, run across parking lot and touch tree. Repeato. We did lunges, squats, sumo squats, calf raises, 1 burpee, and some monkey humper.

COP 2 – Switch to upper body. Gentle mosey to the pull-up/jerkin bars behind the school. Pax did 6 rounds of jerkins/pullups (5 reps each), combined with a short bear crawl uphill towards the loading area (5 pushups at top).

COP 3 – To the track. Team jog on straights. Core exercises at each curve, followed by skipping the curves. Fan favorite was certainly the glute bridge (APD finishing move).

Back to flag for a few stretches.

THANK YOU to Last Call for the coffee. Good convo with the dudes after.

    Announcments:

    1. Frozen Triangle is 2/7/26 – 6 am launch. Get there at 5:30 for some extra miles with Draper (his birthday).
    2. Head to bridge with Pigskin on 1/24/26 – all F’s involved.

    Prayers:

    1. Prayers for OC’s coworker. The poor dude is in the ICU with the flu
    2. Prayers for all the kids (and big kids) going back to school.

Lounge is always a good time, give it some love sometime!

Been a minute since I had the Q (No Wood in The Woodshed!!! – F3RVA Archives | F3RVA) anywhere. Great to lead today!

  • The 2026 Lounge is Open

8 Twin Team regulars gathered for the first Lounge of the year! No DK or coffee in sight, but we had to soldier on. The following is a brief summary for your viewing pleasure:

Started with an indigenous people’s warm-up run: Man in the back does 5 Helicopters, then runs to the front. Switched up to Helicopters, and BOC’s as we made our way to the tennis court.

Exercise One: 4 Corners (prostitute style) – all Abs edition
    10 WWII Sit-ups, 20 American Hammers, 30 LBC’s, 40 Flutter Kicks.

Mosey over the bridge to the parking lot for Exercise Two: Mega Man Killers
Usual Man Killer pattern, but run in between each set. The PAX alternated doing the count, with YHC heroically volunteering for “one.”

Run around the back side of the complex to BWES for Exercise Three:
    Wall Work.
Hoedowns, Dirty Hookups, Hip Slappers or Chicken Peckers, run down the hill and back. – Two sets.
Donkey Kicks, Jumping Wall Slaps, Wallabama Prom Dates, run down the hill and back – Two set.

Back to the Flag with a minute of Monkey Humpers before time is called.

COT and YHC took us out

Final Thoughts: Excellent work by the PAX this morning! The Lounge Review Board was monitoring my every move – but we made it through. Doozy also got his pull up in! Great to see my man RC back out. Mega Man Killers were actually easier than regular Man Killers – go figure.

    SYITG.

  • Slow Roller Coaster

With just Singer and YHC on the (still in town list) of runners that frequent RR, YHC pre-fired a text with a route that is loved by all. River Downs South up the big hill, loop around the back towards Gumbos old house but turn right early and BTTF. 4.40 by the Garman, Singer turned BTTF at 2 miles which probably gave him 4 +/-

Numbers / Names YHC took us out

NMS: There was a day not too long ago that YHC might have been able to catch Singer coming BTTF near JRHS but not having run in a while has taken its toll.

  • Can’t Feel My Legs

7 Elf impersonators including 1 down ranger arose from their eggnog heavy cocoons to embrace the findings at this holiday version of the Twin Team Lounge. Knees were mostly covered by the Pax but all company was enjoyed. Here is how things went down.

Mosey to the black top for introductions and disclaimers. Warm up included SSH’s, Helis, Jazzercise, Merkins, Dead Man Hang and a bit of Broga. Mosey over to the play ground for a triple check. Timer runs half the field and returns to find partners doing hanging V ups and Mountain Climbers. Not much time passed so back to the black top for 11’s. Exercises included jump squats and American Hammers. This ate the clock.

Line up against the wall for Leap Frog Fun. Pax performs Peoples Chair or some opted for Balls to the Wall. Single member bear crawls or lunges across the black top and runs back to the front of the line. Pax caught on after round 1 and decided to adequately space themselves to move this along.

BTTVF for a bit of plank and additional broga. Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayers. YHC took us out.

Announcements: News Years Day Convergence @ DogPile 7 am.

Rousey is leading a Polar Plunge on Saturday at Reedy Creek. 7 am plunge followed by meat smoking party on site as you warm your bits. Bring your own meats to be enjoyed.

Naked Moleskin: Great turnout on a post Christmas Beatdown. Good mumblechatter about Holiday festivities and family avoidance. Coffee afterwards is always quality way to catch up with Pax. Great to meet Pad Thai’s, inlaw from Dallas come out along with Dig Dug and Rousey streaking.

YHC is out of town next Friday so if someone is interested in heading up Twin Team Cafe, I can bring the fixings by sometime during the week.

Thank you fellas for the opportunity to lead. Always a good time at the Lounge.

  • I was told there would be coffee!!!!!

4 Regulars, 1 second post and an FNG but NO Last Call which at Twin Team means no coffee.

5:30 its wet outside but not raining mosey, mosey, mosey to the side cover at JRHS for the COP. PAX was taken here to stay dry but Orange Crush said that was sissy or something like that.

First event, partner up for a touch a light post. Partner 1 runs to 2 light post while partner 2 does dips, second round is 2 different lights and Incline merkins, third round is 2 different lights and step ups

To this point still very loungey mosey to the JRHS track

Four corners on the track first lap is abs – 20 at each stop Scrunchy frogs, American Hammers, LBC’s and something else. Second lap legs – Squats, Walking Lunges, Ball Dippers and Calf Raises. Third Lap Arms/Chest – Merkins, Wide Grip Merkins, Shoulder Taps And Chuck Norris (10) with Diamond (10)

BTTF for an Ab ring of fire

Numbers / Names YHC took us out

NMS: Welcome back to Rousey for his second post and welcome to Dig Dug who came with Rousey. Don’t let the name fool you Dig Dug is a mine engineer and not as old as his namesake although he did say he played Dig Dug one time at his Grandmothers house.

  • Isolation

Ah, YHC forgets OC’s slogan on the t-shirt, isolation in masturbation perhaps, but not as crude. Where to begin….balls and shaft? I recognize a kinship. Christmas party masturbation unemployment? Let’s start with the lounge, shall we –

10 regulars joined up for a Lounge-type workout. some might say not full lounge, but YHC felt with the chill in the air, keeping moving would be best. Mosey to bottom Twin Team. Warm ups. Slight jog up the hill, dora back down. Mosey to neighborhood street – Love Hill with lunges. Mosey to bus loop – 1 curb crawl. Mosey to basketball courts – 15 minutes of OC’s flat-ball basketball.

The lounge mentality was on full display today and it was glorious. Too many laughs to recount. Join us if you can boys, it’s a hoot. Thanks to Last Call for providing refreshments. I’m taking my ball and I’m going home.

  • You Had to Be There

A pair of fluffy snow angels experienced the quaint softness of the uber exclusive Tundra Room of the Twin Team Lounge. Velvety ropes be damned as this is how we got things done today to the best of my recollection.

No Q on the sheet, so a rare hot potato ensued that was beyond brutal. YHC started us off. To toughen us up PAX decided to go barefoot, shirtless and no gloves for the entire workout, proper Lounge attire.

Let us begin with a short 100% sprint up and down Twin Team Hill. Lost count of the up and backs but copious is how it should be described. Still time on the clock, potato was tossed to Rosie.

Crab Walk, Bear Crawl rotation down to Robious Boat Launch where Pax proceeded to do a variety of Burpees and Merkins in preparation of upcoming bikini season. Swimming across the river was tossed out but declined due to no attending life guards, safety first. After bemoans of disapproval partner carries BTTVF was called with single rotation 1/2 back. Easy stuff.

Numbers Names, Prayers and Announcements. Manly congratulations were dispersed.

Announcements: Magnum PI day at DogPile manana. Dust of those fuzzy caterpillars and pressed Hawaiian digs for the annual finest weekend beatdown north of the river.

Secret Santa is being organized. No friends, No problems, Match Maker Hutton will find you a soul mate for life, or atleast for Rosie’s 12 days of Christmas coming up on 12/23.

Breaking Bread and The Bridge need people. Sign up you filthy animals.

NMS: The following is how YHC remember things from today, and that opinion is the only opinion that matters. Great beatdown with Rosie as the smaller numbers are always fun to catch up with good people. Creative gift ideas proposed for family are always welcome. Rosie’s M has an art show going on tonight so come by and get some culture and help fund Rosie’s future retirement dream home, location still TBD. Great job today. Thank you Rosie for joining me.

  • Gumbo flavored Coffee – it’s a new fad

8 Lounge-seekers posted to Twin Team and after a poorly disguised fake, YHC attempted to abide by the Lounge rules – sort of. A few exercises are under review by the rule committee and YHC may be in probationary status, but I stand by my interpretation of the rules. To be determined.

Mosey to the newly very well lit bus loop cul de sac for COP, including a little counting and a little broga.

    THANG:

Proper Dora – no, that’s not a burpee. Pax 1 has option – run the bus loop or do stationary exercise as the timer; Pax 2 complete a set of 2 merkins, 3 jump squats and 4 SSHs = 1 rep. Add up to 50 reps.

Wall work – 10 donkey kicks, lunge to hydrant, plank, WWII, lunge back. 20 DKs, high knees to hydrant, plank, WWII, high knees back. Mix in some wall sits.

Jacobs Ladder – run to second hoop and do 1 WWII, back – 3, and count up to 8. Each time to pass the 1st hoop do 1 merkin and 1 jump squat — again, not a burpee.

Mosey back to the flag for 5 minutes of Mary

Numbers, Names, COT, YHC took us out and coffeeteria

    Announcements:

    • Chili Cookoff Sunday – 1 entry spot available. See Heist or Slack
    • Thanksgiving Convergence 45MOM – 0700.
    • Thanksgiving pre-game Ultimate Frisbee at Timberwolf – 0530

Great morning gents. Enjoyed the conversation and we got a sweat going. I will be sure to research what constitutes a burpee and report back to the group.

Thanks for the coffee Last Call.

    No More Gumbo For You!

  • Good Cop Bad Cop

No one ever asked for a joint Q at the Twin Team Lounge………….but by golly, that is what they got. Here is a brief summary for viewing pleasure.

Mosey to the basketball court for some Chaplain led no count warm-ups: Michael Phelps, Helicopters, Ukrainian Soldiers, Hillbillies, Knee Pulls, Mummy Kicks, Mario Jumps, Lunge Walk, Bear Crawl. Might have missed a few.

House Party took over for Exercise One:

Back to the flag, and finished up with 5 minutes of assorted ab exercises (called by the PAX).

Numbers/Names/Announcements and House Party took us out.

Final Thoughts: Always great to collaborate with House Party. If you dont feel like planning a whole workout, just grab a partner. House Party’s burpees were met with resistance by the Lounge Committee. We enjoyed some coffee post-workout courtesy of Last Call. Great work fellas!
