  • Follow the footsteps

Four foolhardy fellows braved the snow and ice at Twin Team. 2 were there at the start while the other 2 found us in the COP:

COP: Don Qs, SSH, Imperial Walkers, Flutterkicks, Merkins, Heels2Heaven.

Partner up – Dora 123: 100 Merkins, 200 Dips, 300 LBCs. Mosey to side side of BW: 2 Rounds of 30 WWIIs and 40 Merkins in covered area. Over to the playground – 5 sets of 8 Pull-Ups and 15 Squats.

Move to side of school for Native American Donkey kicks – 3 PAX B2W while one does 10 Donkey Kicks and goes to end. 2 rounds through. Back to school entrance for Pickle Pounders. Boxing Cockroaches, Windshield wipers. Finish up with some snowball tosses – Hit the car and 10 Squats, miss and do 5 burpees. 2 rounds and we ended up with 25 burpees.

COT and YHC took us out. Prayers for Bleeder’s family, Swirly’s family, and PAX traveling.

NMS – YHC took the Q at TT since Doozy was solo last week. Boberry got some chatter going on Slack last night so YHC felt confident he would not be solo. At the start it was just Doozy and YHC but Boberry and Chaplain pulled in 2 minutes late due to the snow.

Snow was plenty slushy so we looked for covered spots most of the time. Nobody took a spill and the snowball tosses at the end were fun. Only one pax missed on the first round of snowball toss, he shall remain nameless.

  • I don’t care, I’ll do what I want

One lonely wet Q showed up to Twin Team.

If nobody is coming YHC is going to turn this boot camp into a run

5:30 COP DQs, Helicopters, Dead Man Hangs

Go for about a 4 mile run

Start at BW go to JRHS track run one lap, go behind BW to Robious take a left back to BW Repeto X3

  • Thanks be to Boberry

A PAX of 2 took on Twim Team this morning. Here’s what went down:

    Mosey from BWES to JRHS.

COP: SSHs, Russian Soldiers, Cherry Pickers, DQs, LBCs

Bearpees: Starting at one end of the parking lot (at light pole 1), bear crawl 4 steps followed by 1 burpee until reaching light pole 2. Next, bear crawl 8 steps with 2 burpees until reaching light pole 3. Finally, bear crawl 12 steps with 3 burpees until light pole 4.

    Mosey to BWES jungle gym.

11s: pull-ups and WWIIs (running in between)

Prostitute: Using trees and light poles – Burpees, WWIIs, Merkins, Crunchy Frogs, American Hammers, and Monkey Humpers

    BTTF

Numbers, Names, Announcements, YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

    -Monday at Kindred Spirits 6pm

-Sunday 2/28, 4pm, Glow for Galactosemia

NMS: Last week, a faithful four decided to resurrect Twin Team after more than a month. YHC threw his name on the Q sheet to help ensure Twin Team stays alive. Arrival was at 5:25 and the parking lot was empty. At 5:29:30, the parking lot was still empty. Here’s the deal…despite the fact that YHC’s heart was a warm 70 and sunny, YHC had no intention of doing a solo Q with it being 20 degrees. And just when all hope seemed lost, Boberry came flying it hot (with maybe 5 seconds to spare) to save the day. Much appreciated sir…enjoyed the conversation and company this morning.

Enjoy your Friday everyone…peace! And let’s keep Twin Team going!

  • Return to Twin Team

After being dormant for several months, four returned to Twin Team for a Friday beatdown. Here’s how it went.

Mosey to the bus loop. Helicopters, DQs, 10 SSHs + 10 Merkins x 3, squats.

Mosey over for a modified curb crawl. 15 jump squats, crawl to opposite curb, 20 2-count toe touches on the curb, crawl bear back. Repeat 3 more times.

Mosey to the football field. 1 member presses (what appeared to be) a hurdle made from 2x4s. 2nd member performs jerkins on the steeplechase hurdle. 3rd member curls a propane tank. 4th member was the timer running up to the top of the bleachers and back. Rotate and repeat 3 times.

Mosey to the edge of the parking lot. 20 dips on the crew boat trailer, 20 squats, 15 merkins, run around the parking lot. Repeat 3 times.

To the base of the hill. Crawl bear to the top 3 times.

Back to the flag. Modified ring of fire.

    That was it.

  • Anything but a hunt for the Twin Team Beast

A small PAX gathered at Twin Team this morning for a beatdown that went something like this:

Mosey to the swamp parking lot for COP:

SSHs, DQs, Russian Soldiers, Helicopters, LBCs, Rosalitas

    Ascending Prostitute Four Corners:

    Using the entire parking lot…

    Corner 1: 10 merkins

Corner 2: 10 merkins, 20 monkey humpers, return to corner 1

    Corner 3: 10 merkins, 20 monkey humpers, 30 2-count flutter kicks, back to corners 2 and 1.

    Corner 4: 10 merkins, 20 monkey humpers, 30 2-count flutters, 40 2-count American hammers, back to corners 3, 2, 1

Quick mosey to what is left of the pull-up bars by the swamp for

    11s:

Jerkins and WWIIs, running to curb and back in between

BTTF, stopping at every light pole along the way for a burpee.

    4 MOM:

Crunchy frogs, Freddie Mercury’s, APDs, HTH

Numbers, Names, Announcements, Prayer Requests, YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

    • HDHH next Wednesday (5ish) at Hardywood West Creek (we hope)
    • 12 Days of Christmas at No Toll on Tuesday
    • Prayers for Gumbo’s sister who is in the hospital with COVID (she has been on oxygen but is improving)

    NMS:

Doozy is known for grabbing the Twin Team Q at the last second and then taking the PAX on a journey up Twin Team to either hunt for a mythical beast or do suicides. YHC decided to do a preemptive strike this week and prevent that from being a possibility.

The 11s today were supposed to be pull-ups and WWIIs but some of the pull-up bars by the swamp have been removed and replaced with nothing (what gives?). With the only remaining bars either too high or too low for pull-ups, an audible was called for jerkins.

With the size of this AO, the PAX also managed to get in 3.2 miles of running. Not too shabby.

Thanks Gumbo and Doublemint for indulging YHC this morning. Always an honor to lead…no matter the size of the PAX.

    Enjoy your Fridays fellas! Peace!

  • Gloom gifts at Twin Team

Five faithful came out to Twin Team to find mid 40s weather that felt downright balmy after yesterday. With YHC as Q we took off, as Rosie would note, to normal HD COP spot for:

SSH, Russian Soldiers, Don Qs, Merkins, & LBCs relocated to the parking lot. Mosey over to our normal Donkey Kick space to discover a wonderful new gift – 5 brand new benches sitting under the cover on the DK wall. With this newfound bounty we did:

4 Rounds of: 10 Box Jumps, run to middle of lot then 20 Merkins. Why not repeato: 4 more rounds of 20 Dips & 10 V-Ups. Finish our time on the new benches with 30 Derkins.

Over to stadium for some Zs: Run diagonal across field, 3 burpees, Bear crawl width of field to corner 3 more burpees. Run diagonal across again 3 more burpees & bear crawl back to start. 2nd round was 10 WWIIs at corners and lunge across rather than Bear Crawl.

Mosey over to mail parking lot: 20 Jump Squats at each of 6 lights with alternating run & bernie. Back to flag for some mary of: APDs, Reverse Crunches, Heels2Heaven, & Pickle Pounders. YHC took us out.

NMS: Strong PAX this morning. Rosie pointed out on the initial mosey to COP that YHC always does the COP on the field. Not sure if that is a good thing but YHC does like to Q out at Twin Team, she really is a great AO. YHC was hoping he could give a preview of his Stache to Gumbo this am but he seems to be prepping for Magnum PI day.

What a surprise it was to come over to the DK wall and find brand new benches to play with. Upon further inspection there are 5 of them, one for each PAX. Xmas seemed to come early to TT. The benches seemed to hold up well on their initial test run. Expect future Qs to play with those more, Doozy recommended Dual-partner-carry with one pax sitting on the bench while 2 pax hold each end and run around. Doublemint shared he is already a black belt Ju-Jitsu and now with his boxing training seems to be headed to a spot in the UFC sometime in 2021.

Annoucements: HDHH seems to be in the works on 12/16 or at least that week. Look for more details on Slack.

  • The Beast of Twin Team: Part Dos

5 history buffs or possibly 4 history buffs and a math major that accidentally found himself in a history class today arrived at BW to see what YHC could learn them.

Mossey to the top of Twin Team for C.O.P.

DQ’s, Helicopters, Dead Man Hangs, Cherry Pickers and Imperial Walkers

As the story picks up from our last adventure the landing team goes in search of the Beast of Twin Team. To do this they must make a stop at each one of their trail markers as per the map.

On our way down the hill our adventurers had to look high and low kind of like Burpee Squat Jumpers (X6 ea) back up the hill to the start

Our fearless team did not see the Beast but they got knocked down kind of like American Hammers (X6 ea) back up the hill to the start

While our hero’s where already down they decided to look closer to the ground kind of like a merkin (X6 ea) back up the hill to the start

After that it was time to get back up kind of like a No Hostages (X6 ea) YHC was the only one not with bare knees this morning so the rest of the landing party decided to get back up more like Lung (X6 ea) back up the hill to the start

With time not on our side and wanting to get back to the ship before anyone lost their lives we decided to head BTTF but something happened and we all got knocked back down on the way kind of like Crab Cakes. Then from out of no where a loud roar was heard followed by the worst smell known by man or beast.

Did O.C. eat the Beast or just have something bad from Del Taco last night?? We may never know

At the flag and with some extra time the team had to make sure that the party was still alive kind of like Man Killers

    NMS:

Lots of mumble chatter was heard when YHC turned right on the mossey to the COP leaving BW and even more when the curtesy stop was passed at the bottom of TT but once the glow sticks came out Sh%# got real. We had a great adventure and no one actually lost their lives but OC must have ate some road kill on the mossey over.

  • “We forgot to pray for your scrotum”

Five regulars and one visitor from the north made their way to the Twin Team gloom for a beatdown that went something like this:

    Mosey to the Swamp

    COP:

SSHs, DQs, Cherry Pickers (or collared pickers or whatever), Russian Soldiers, Sugar Sticks (aka Flutter Kicks), Freddie Mercury’s, LBCs

    BLIMPS:

10 Burpees, run a lap around the track

15 Lunges (each leg), run a lap

20 Imperial Walkers (each leg), run a lap

    25 Merkins, run a lap

30 Plank Jacks, run a lap

    35 Squats, run a lap

    Short mosey to the endzone.

    Killer Bs:

Bear crawl to the 25 yard line, turn around Broad Jump back to start (after every 5 Broad Jumps, do 3 Burpees)

Repeato to the 50 yard line.

    Mosey to BWES jungle gym

    11s:

    Pull-ups and Merkins

    BTTF

Names, Numbers, Announcements, Prayer Requests, YHC took us out.

    Announcements:

    • Thanksgiving Day convergence at Mary
    • Black Friday run at Forest Hill Park – is there a Pre-blast for this somewhere?
    • November merkin challenge is in full force – we got in somewhere around 110-115 merkins this morning
    • Prayers for Don Draper’s dad and Spit’s aunt who are in the hospital with COVID
    • Prayers for YHCs grandma and family

    NMS:

YHC was looking to get a little bit of mileage in this morning. According to the watch, we got in 3 miles as part of the beatdown.

Nice to have Spit at Twin Team this morning as he continues on his personal tour.

Lots of chatter today. The complaints regarding the wetness of shoes and gloves during the Killer Bs was hilarious.

Today’s title quote comes from OC, who, immediately following COT, turned to Don Draper and said “We forgot to pray for your scrotum.” It really doesn’t get more title worthy than that.

    Have a great Friday everyone!

  • Chop wood, carry water, do pullups, merkins and squats…

Five dudes sought enlightenment in the gloom at Twin Team; here’s what they got instead:

Welcome FNG, disclaimer, oral indemnification, liability waiver and assumption of the risk agreements (legally binding and enforceable in all 50 states!)

Warmarama: IPR up Twin Team hill and back.

The THANG: mosey to the playground for some Murph. Ten rounds of

    • 10 pullups OYO
    • 10 merkins IC
    • 15 squats IC

Mosey BTTF by way of a 400m detour around the Swamp for some cool down stretching.

Numbers, names, YHC took us out.

Announcements – final push for the shoe drive; bring ’em to Dogpile tomorrow! Prayers to lift up Offshore and his family with the passing of his MIL.

NMMS: YHC saw an open Q at Twin Team, noticed that it was the end of the month and figured it was time to start bringing back an old favorite. Tclaps to Greenbow for bringing out FNG Adam (Bagman). Coming out of the gates with a run up Twin Team hill and the Murph is no joke. Make it a great one, caballeros!

    Doublemint

  • 2 Pax No Cars

As YHC ran into the empty parking lot I wondered whether it would be a solo workout and I could just turn around and run home. About that time OC rolled into the parking lot on his bike. Seeing no car driving PAX would be showing up, we got on with a little hot potato back and forth Q.

Started us off with a warmup and then a couple rounds of pullups, dips, merkins, squats and flutters – 5,10,15,20,25 We rolled around to the track for some 4 corners with varying exercises and speeds – merkins, burpees, WWI, CDD, Monkey humpers, sprints, American Hammers… Tried a few runs up and down the bleachers but the lack of light made it a little precarious so we scrapped it after 3 times up and down. Back to the flag for some plankarama and stretching.

After the workout we had to make it home somehow so OC joined me for a trip up Twin Team and part of my run home. I think Twin Team is harder on a bike than running, all that Peleton work had OC cranking up the hill.

Good company this morning. Have a great day gentlemen.
