There’s a first time for everything… first Q, and first time the PAX did more burpees than miles on a Spider Run day. Spirits were high for the mystery workout in memory of a dear friend (and Handshake’s old roommate!), on what would have been his 35th birthday. To learn more about the inspiration for today’s festivities, see here for the link. Here is how it all went down.
The PAX moseyed on over to the rally point near the bottom of the biggest hill Spider Run has to offer. YHC previously marked out 12 spots on the Bostwick hill, each with their own mystery exercise. The magic number was 35, as in The Hogan would have been 35 years old today. Run up the hill to the first point, read mystery exercise, come back down to the rally point complete 35 reps of said exercise, then run back up the hill to the next mystery exercise, and get to as many as you can. Bro Code was in place for the first hill, and the PAX ran up to the number 1 spot together, and there it was, 35 Merkins.
After that it was, 2.) LBCs, 3.) Squats, 4.) Burpees, 5.) Flutter Kicks, 6.) World War Twos, 7.) Mountain Climbers, 8.) Side Straddle Hops, 9.) Lunges, 10.) American Hammers, 11.) Burpees, and 12.) Burpees.
It was a best effort day so as the PAX neared the end time YHC moseyed everyone back to the COT.
COT: Numberama and Namearama. Prayer requests go out to a family close to Shakedown for tragic accident in the Outer Banks.
Great job today everyone, it was a good time remembering a good friend.

Solid VQ, Faceplant, and again, sorry to lose Shawn Hogan. You did him proud dishing out the pain today.
Sounds like Captain Hogan was equally as good a guy as he was a badass. World could use a few more like him. Enjoyed paying him honor with a serious beatdown this morning.
Great Q Faceplant. I’m certain we’ll see The Hogan again. Glad to be a part of its unveil, and honoring of what sounds like a great person, and loss to our country. Thank you for introducing him to us.
Well you certainly get a full point for this Q Faceplant – well done buddy.
I was proud to be able to pay my respects and honor an outstanding American – Captain Hogan.
You can bet -( The Hogan) will be returning to an AO near you soon !!!
Way to work guys..
See y’all in the gloom..
Aye…RESPECT!
Mazeltov Pal.
Wow…didn’t see that one coming. Well done, Face Plant. A great way to do what we can in the gloom to honor a great man. By the looks of it, The Hogan will go down with other like The Murph, The Old Glory, The Hard Way and others that will come back from time to time to test the PAX and push us to our limits. I look forward to trying out The Hogan with you all one morning.
Respect!
Great job Faceplant! Way to honor the ole’ Hogatron!
Looks like fun and a great VQ. Sorry to miss
I thought the unwritten rule of a true VQ is it can’t be a running workout, but I’d definitely say this one was well worth a VQ title Faceplant. Excellent job, honored to be a part of it in celebration of our friend.
