Jericho? Not this Time

All good things must come to an end.

We’ve had a pretty good record in recent weeks doing the VCU Basketball Jericho Run around the Siegel Center.

Quick refresher–If at all possible, I like to run around the arenas that the Rams are playing on my gameday runs. For home games in Richmond, that is the Siegel Center, which is about 3.3 miles, give or take from the Flag.

With the influx of Friday night games, we’ve done it a few times this year…and Sippy has joined me on a Saturday or two for an un-authorized run. We also did it a few weeks ago around the Robins Center prior to the Rams road games at UofR.

All runs have been fruitful as VCU hadn’t lost a home game all season.

That came to an end on Friday as later that night a Max Shulga 3ptr clanked off the back iron and the Rams fell to Dayton by 3. Tough way to end the season as it quelled the momentum VCU had getting an at large bid. Nevertheless….a terrific season.

A bunch of walkers headed out to do what they normally do. It’s good seeing those guys.

The 5s and 6s headed towards the Stu, kind of meandering our way through the fan…ending up on Ryland and dumping out across the street from 1200 West Broad. A lap around the arena (we’ve been doing two laps…maybe that was the issue) and back from Broad to Lombardy to Monument. Then weaving our way through the boucolic streets of the nearer west end.

Hope everyone pulls for the Rams in DC this weekend.
