  • 360k For That??

House Party and Big Rig did a 2+ mile ruck in the neighborhood around Goyne Park. Lots of chatter on multiple topics, and we checked out the local real estate. Rucking is great active recovery. Maybe not so much with a cinder block the whole way.

  • Back at Rockwood

YHC was back at Rockwood Park for the first time since June. Not too much had changed other than the gates weren’t unlocked. 5am rolled around and it was time for the solo act in Premature Acceleration.

2 mile warmup run, then 1 mile with the weighted vest. Then 3 sets of 10 hollow rocks at the monkey bars on the kids playground. Then 6 sets of 5 deficit merkins between the cindies, broken up by a few farmer’s carries. Then 3 more sets of hollow rocks, followed by a few more sets of deficit merkins broken up by farmer’s carries.

Few minutes til 6 and Mudslide pulls up, as the Latino Market is getting setup. Mudslide had PLENTY more beatdown with his Morning Wood and RocknRoll

  • State Farm and Pool Boy can’t seem to count past 12

3 Compadres made their way to The Bermuda Triangle for another test of strength and endurance. It was a steamy morning, and we had coupons aplenty.

We moseyed over to our coupon storage and grabbed a coupl cindies, then moseyed back to the grill next to the pavilion for a standard warmarama. State Farm, and Pool Boy really need to work on his counting past 12. For some reason, they gets lost after that point.

Next over to the restroom building for some donkey kicks before we get to use our toys. Sets of 5, 10, 15, and 20.

    Next for a triple check

1st exercise: WW4s (WW2 situps with a 20 lb slamball, and an overhead American Hammer)

    2nd: Goblet squats with kettlebell

Timer: Farmer’s carry 2 cindies to the tree and back. 10 Deficit Merkins between cindies every time you have to drop the cindies

After a couple of the Farmer carries, just holding the kettlebell became difficult. Killer grip workout.

    Return cindies home and bttf.

    31s until time expired

    21 merkins and 10 V ups

20 merkins 11 vups Etc. Etc

I must admit I was smoked and had to modify the merkins to failure very early on. State Farm was proudly stuck his chest out after he made it through the reps. Pool Boy continues to get stronger, and pushes himself harder each time out.

Love these Bermuda Boyz, even if they have trouble counting.

  • DeadPool and Wolv… No, just McBig Rig

Party of 2 for Premature Acceleration at Goyne Park. Pool Boy beat me to the punch today as I stayed in the fartsack for a few extra Zs. I was about 10 minutes late, but Deadpool (Pool Boy’s alter ego) got the party started without me.

The workout today was provided by Boberry, who opted to smartsack as he was a little under the weather yesterday. Hopefully, the rest day will do him good.

    It was fairly simple.

25 merkins, then run one half mile. Repeat for 45 minutes. With one catch, each half mile needs to be faster than the previous one.

There were some modifications but we both got a good early burn in. Luckily there weren’t any pull ups, as we got ready for State Farm’s total beatdown!

Props to Pool Boy who continues to push himself. This was his first Triple Workout and he brought it to the very end!

  • Spartan Training

3 Savages took on a workout that I came up with, that was inspired by Iron PAX workouts. The 11 Pull ups were added to it yesterday by State Farm’s request. Mudslide thought it would be a good addition for his Spartan preparation. I think it was Iron PAX worthy. Here it is.

    11 Pull Ups

    22 Thrusters

    33 V Ups

    44 Merkins

After 3 sets of each run 1 mile

Do as much as you can in 45 minutes

2 rounds would be optimistic in 45 minutes. Mudslide was the closest to accomplish that feat (Beast!), State Farm was not too far behind, and YHC was easily the 6. Would be good for an hour workout by itself.

Great push by the PAX! We were all wasted with a DTH sweatfest still to come. Thank you State Farm for giving DTH a little extra incentive to beat us down. I dont think we needed that.

I wouldn’t say I lead this one. I just came up with the bad idea.

  • Good Karma? Bad Karma?

2 HIMs came out for Premature Acceleration Goyne Park version. In preparation for the Homegrown Half in 2 weeks, Boberry and I decided to go for a 10k. We managed to get it in with a few minutes to spare. Ran through some neighborhoods, a trip down Karma Rd. Then the second half we made a short trip down Iron Bridge Rd. Always great to catch to catch up with Boberry.

  • A Little Extra Weight

On a rainsoaked Goyne Park, 3 HIMs made it out for a little extra credit Pull up and Dip session. Lots of good work done with a few different exercises.

PAX would do several sets of pull up pyramids, hanging leg raises, chin ups, hollow rocks, full body dips, jerkins, and pull up negatives.

Good push by these guys, especially for getting thos work in the pouring rain. Just added a couple LBs for those tough reps.

Boberry and I were pretty smoked after doing an Iron PAX workout right before. Mudslide’s Broga was sounding pretty good at this point, to help us get ready for Pool Boy’s VQ beatdown!

  • Yeah… I’m not doing that

3 HIMs made it out for the latest edition of the Bermuda Triangle. It was slightly less uncomfortable than it’s been the last few days but still 70 and sunny. Started out with a long mosey around the parking lot then back for a standard warmarama.

Next for another long mosey to the field that for today will be known as the Coupon Cowpasture. We ran the perimeter of the field and it measured out to .22 miles.

Next we went out behind the shed for the coupons.

Let’s just say there were lots of triple checks including the following

Murder Bunnies, Rifle carries, Farmer’s carries with 2 cindies, Thrusters, Leg raises w Cindy in Press, WW3s, Goblet Squats, skull crushers.

We made it around the perimeter of the cowpasture to the pavilion. One exercise left to do, but there was a guy walking and Pool Boy decided to try and EH him(I think it was his first time) State Farm and I started doing Bear Crawl Pull thrus with the Cindies as Pool Boy made his move. It looked like Pool Boy was pointing at us to show the guy what we do and it looked like he said “Thats gonna be a hard No!” Needless to say, I don’t think he’ll be at Pool Boy’s VQ on Saturday.

Anyway, proud of both of these guys. Both leaders, and both push me every time out. I was truly blessed to lead these guys today.

Don’t forget about Pool Boy’s VQ on Saturday at The Iron Bridge (Goyne Park) at 7am. Come early for Goyne Hard 6am.

  • Another Iron PAX

PAX of 2 for Premature Acceleration this morning. Boberry and I got to Rockwood promptly at 5 only to discover that the gates were yet to be opened. This required a slight change to our plan for the morning, but we made the most of it. Boberry parked and we ran a couple laps around the park then went into “the pit” for 3 cindies. We alternated rifle carrying 1 cindy, and farmer’s carrying 2 back to the flag for our short Iron PAX workout for the week.

15 Burpee Block jump overs, 50 Handrelease Merkins, 20 yds Broad jump(10 yards, out and back)

14 Burpee Block jump overs, 50 Goblet Squats, 20 yds Broad jump(10 yards, out and back)

13 Burpee Block jump overs, 50 Leg raises, holding block in Press postion, 20 yds Broad jump(10 yards, out and back)

12 Burpee Block jump overs, 50 Handrelease Merkins, 20 yds Broad jump(10 yards, out and back

We cut it short after this point, as we had to run to the other side of the park to get Boberry’s car.

These Iron PAX workouts are no joke. I’ve done several the past few weeks and they all have pushed me to my limits. Glad to have Boberry join me, who has already done most of them, but is still a willing participant.

Great way to start the day!

  • Just A Walk In The Park

8 Highly Impactful Men ventured around the grounds of Rockwood Park for what wasn’t your typical walk in the park. Lots of great chatter on multiple topics. We passed around 3 cindies on our trek. Doing some rifle carries along the way. At one point DTH and myself, did an impromptu test to see who could rifle carry the longest. I let him win because I had an itch.

Great to have Choo Choo join us for his first Ruck. PAX made the coupon carries look easy. Almost wish I would have brought more coupons. As always, I was blessed to lead.
