  • Iron Chef – F3RVA Edition

YHC’s 2.0s entered the arena and threw down for the title of Iron Chef F3RVA.  Llama prepared the side while BB-8 tackled dessert.  Here’s what was served:

    • Aged loin of farm raised boar marinaded in a honey bacon glaze, seared and slightly smoky, cooked to 145 degrees internal
    • Diced Idaho potatoes tossed with extra virgin olive oil and shaken with assorted herbs and spices then roasted until slightly charred with a smooth soft interior
    • Vanilla mousse parfait layered with sliced organic bananas and wafers and finished with a light crème fraiche topping and wafer crumbles
    • Signature cocktail was an Arnold Palmer served over frozen cubes or spring water

Three Amigos summoned the Invisible Swordsman and obtained directions to the eastern most AO in F3RVA.  The AO and the fine men of New Kent did not disappoint.  Six men and a 2.0 grinded, laughed, fondled some wood, and all left considerably more moist than at arrival.  Things YHC learned today, UpChuck is Katy Perry’s #1 fan, Beaver has a tattoo of a shark with a beard and a cowboy hat, and Chico State is part of the California Penal League.  Go Wildcats!  Belly Flop! Gents, there are many convergences, but nothing is quite as special as Memorial Day.  Special thanks to Ponch for his important words and reminding us what this day is all about.  Over a million soldiers have died defending our American freedoms.  But so many more have been wounded, lost limbs, and worse.  On top of that, those brave men and women continue to fight a war against the mental and emotional toll that continues long after any wars and their services has ended.  All gave some, some gave all.  Think about that today as we celebrate the freedom we all enjoy in this great land.  God bless our troops, and God bless the USA.
