  • Slappin around 175g

9 veterans played ultimate. Some wore cleats. Labrat switched sides to try and make it more even, but Team Bodos maintained the lead. OK, it was really just Bodos on FIRE. Handshake likes bobbling and bouncing catches – yet somehow made it work. Labrat got fired up toward the end and pulled out some awesome defensive slapdowns. Lighthouse had never played before, but caught on quickly. Kudos to Atilla and Honeydo on some excellent end zone snatches. Greenbow doesn’t like organized sports, but still enjoyed the workout. Most of us did 10 merkins for every touchdown – GomerPile did more.

    NMS:

    • WELCOME BACK SUGARSOCK!!! (And Happy Birthday of course.) Awesome crew of men this morning to crush most of the F3Deck. Third day of Q’ing in a row, YHC is feeling absolutely wrecked (in a good way) today. During our COT, YHC emphasized the importance of not going alone against our vices – we are designed to be a part of something great – and while we each have ongoing needs that our brothers can help carry, we also each have a specific skill set to help our brothers out. REACH OUT to a brother today, and let them know what you’re struggling with – give them permission to help you! As the F3Deck states “The joker is the Temptation of the Flesh that hinders acceleration”. DON’T REMAIN ENSNARED – get accountability, and kick temptation to the curb! SYITG

Live creatively, friends. If someone falls into sin, forgivingly restore him, saving your critical comments for yourself. You might be needing forgiveness before the day’s out. Stoop down and reach out to those who are oppressed. Share their burdens, and so complete Christ’s law. If you think you are too good for that, you are badly deceived.

It’s literally impossible not have fun when Hardwood combines wheelbarrows with singing “this little light of mine – I’m gonna let it shine”…OK OK, he was raging to some screamo-ska-metallica musical ditty, but still… YHC had a blast with you guys this morning- thanks for putting in the hard work! NMS:

    • While NoToll remains YHC’s first love, YHC will use every excuse to enjoy the terrific landscape of Heartbreak Ridge, especially if Headlocking has played a part. Lu Miranda “BANNER” lives in the vicinity and has been in the DTH noose for quite some time, so when he finally relented to come back out, YHC seized the opportunity to fill in the blank next to Heartbreak. The PAX did an awesome job this morning flying through the COP’s, such that YHC had to improv a little bit extra on the end. Way to work fellas! YHC has the honor of Q’ing 3rd week in a row at HBR for Ultimate Frisbee next week, then rumor has it PROBATION will be stepping back into the ring to Q on 7/28. As for YHC, the ever elusive BERNANKE (who was injured at HBR many moons ago) will be back from vaca soon and the full might of the DTH headlock will be applied. May God have mercy on his soul.
  • SOJ Inaugural PuppyPile

An extraordinary THIRTY gloom warriors posted this morning to our SOJ inaugural PuppyPile at NoToll, with a few brave men outnumbered at least 3-1 by a veritable herd of adventure-energized 2.0’s! An entirely intimidated DTH noted perfect conditions – sunny, 70 degrees, 0700 – and off we went!

    • Holy moly, and I thought regular F3 workouts were fun! This was AMAZING!!! Such great energy this morning with all the 2.0’s absolutely tearing through the exercises. Many thanks to Seadoo for bringing a speaker (which YHC had forgotten) so we could do the Gutbusters musical number, and of course hats off the Hardywood for bringing that awesome Slip-n-Slide back out for our grand finale today. Also big shout out to the Honeydew Crew who policed up the bricks after COT. Not surprisingly, the watermelon was a huge hit, and YHC is thinking we’ll be seeing more of the watermelonorama for YHC’s summer Q’s to come. And keep tuned – we will be doing this again in August! SYITG!

Sticking to the West side of Hugenuts High for the morning, YHC pulled in a couple new ideas today including the Little Baby Cross Crunches and ZigZag 11’s, which both seemed to work well. Also revisited some favorites at the rails and reintroduced ToothFairies. Overall a very impressive effort from the men – and swimming through the humidity was no joke! Welcome back to Waterwings from CARPEX – we’ll be seeing more of him.

    • GREAT work today gents! We can’t all make the cut for the Homerun Derby A Team, but YHC is sure as hell proud to have such fine men on the Frisbee Fifties B Team. Welcome Breezer! Been a long time head locking your tail into coming. Also welcome to Gypsy who’s a transplant from the Carolinas, BFF’s with our F3 Nation nantan Dredd, and has been around the country starting more AO’s than all of us combined. Look forward to having your injection of F3 Nation leadership and helping get your Speed for Need events going here in RVA. SYITG!
  • SOJ is Ultimately Cooler!

A perfect 14-count Pax posted to NoToll for a little Ultimate Frisbee today. All present were honored to have the one and only LabRat back out in the gloom after a long quarantine hiatus. YHC led a brief Warmerama COP while Labrat set the cones, and we divvied up black shirts against everyone else, making a perfect seven-V-seven split. In honor of today’s date, YHC called 6 burpees each time a team scored, while the losers would walk the field and complete 30 LBC’s. From the very start the men in black demonstrated an uncanny capacity for effective short throws winning a steady stream of touchdowns and burpees. The other-colored gentlemen also put together a few handsome plays to get their share of burpees and prevent the all blacks from a shutout. All together we saw some very impressive skills from our veternas Labrat and DK, while a few other men made their mark for quality throws (Snuff), defensive picks (Draper), sliding touchdown (Flange), and of course the trifecta of Fresh Prince’s speed, vertical jump, and flawless frisebee handling (having NEVER played before – whatta natural?). Sorry if I forgot to mention many of the other lads’ phenomenal plays and touchdowns. The men in black were in double digits for touchdowns and at least 70 burpees by the end. All present were entirely drenched in sweat, field dew, and sticky humidity by the end of an exceptionally enjoyable morning. Thanks for letting me lead fellas – we’ll do this another 1-2 times this summer at NoToll and/or Heartbreak Ridge.
